Historical building not far from Hawley's downtown shopping area. It is not an all day trip…read moredestination but definitely worth a stop when you're nearby. Restored to house some small businesses, it was nice taking a stroll through and also looking at the various exhibits regarding the building and area's history. One of the first shops we visited was "Uplift" which is right there when you walk in. The woman who was working (maybe the owner) was so informative about the building and surrounding areas and really gave us some great recommendations. She also showed us some of the products she sells and let us try on some lotion. She was great with my son who is always a bit reserved at first, but she got through his shell. Great shop, we purchased a few things that have now become our favorites, most of all, that lotion we tried! If you go downstairs to "The Boiler Room" which is a private event space (do not go in if you see a lot going on, most likely a private party), if the room is empty you can go in (gorgeous space) and through the door to the outside to take a look at the beautiful waterfall behind the building! There is also a cafe steps away outside of the building where you can refresh with a quick snack and beverage or a sandwich!

It was paved between 1931-1933 and subsequently dedicated in 1939, and rededicated on September 21, 2002, as part of the "Upper Delaware Scenic Byway", according to a historical marker placed by the Town of Deerpark, where Hawk's Nest is located. I don't really like the noise policy which enables one loud person to largely ruin the quiet environment for all others trying to read or study. The budget draws 2 million a year from taxpayers and it seems the high cost derives from excessive fees for digital subscriptions which large Silicon Valley corporations charge local libraries. It's shameful. Hours are limited.
