I observed a sanitation truck come down Bruynswick Rd in the Gardiner, New Paltz area on 12/5/2024 @ approximately 11:30 am & stopped across the street from me, the gentleman got out of his truck & proceeded to pick up my neighbors garbage pail out of the snow that obviously had been knocked over by a snow plow. He then continued & picked up all the garbage that was knocked out of the pail & cleaned it all up. I thanked him for the EXTRA EFFORT he performed. I wish I asked for his name, but I asked God to bless him. Most sanitation companies wouldn't get out of their trucks anymore as they have an arm on their truck to do the dirty work & if your pail was knocked over by either the wind, a bear or a snow plow, they leave it where it lies an continue down the road. Kudos to LeMela Sanitation & the gentleman who went ABOVE & BEYOND his duties. I didn't ask for his name, but he seemed he was Latino, I sure hope his management see's this review & recognizes him for a JOB WELL DONE. When my wife comes home from work, I am going to suggest changing our company to LeMela Sanitation. Prior to that, it was zilch and downright brutal. But now, this city is more than the eye-candy shops- it's also been home to the most ornate Victorian architecture I've ever seen in NY State. Don't want to take you too far down memory lane, but hubs tells me when he was at a Newburgh Navy base training site in the 80s, this area was dilapidated down to the bones. Fast forward- Brooklynites and Manhattanites have been coming in droves nowadays to set up their homes in greener pastures. When we head up to Woodstock, hubs and I at times take a detour and see what's new in the hood despite its lows. I know gentrification is a double-edged sword and can save a crumbling city from the wrecking ball- yet that true Newburgh social piece isn't going anywhere. But we also like the changes we've seen over the years: the Art flair that's so visible, eateries and the culture that still remains and the best hole-in-the-wall shops we've run into. This is a good example of how some neighborhoods are best off-the-beaten path.

The "City" of Newburgh is a different story. it's high in crime with liberal policies destroying a once historic City. The good residents of The city of Newburgh should change their political views since the progressive way of thinking is not doing any justice for the City. many residents in the City are not as friendly toward the police and have negative views of the police. The Town and City both have separate Police Forces. Both police forces are professional and have outstanding police officers.

5/22/25 - It's raining today. Five years ago just before…read moreCovid I moved from one town up here to another. I had Triangle Movers to the job. They were excellent. Like I said in the previous review; it's like they were moving their own furniture. One of their truck's is across the street, moving someone out of the complex. It's not unusual to see someone moving; most of the time it's with U-Haul. I'm watching the movers bringing the people's furniture out of the building. Everything seems to be wrapped in plastic to keep it from getting wet and damaged. The guys are working fast. I don't know the family. I do know they'll be happy with the service they get from Triangle Movers. I hope they do a Yelp review.
