I don't think I ever came close to such a mess and nonexistent customer service as this post office. After a few of our packages were returned/not delivered we signed up for general delivery and we ordered everything again. When I came to pick it up, they said none of that is there, they couldn't find my sign up for general delivery, even though the gentleman who did it for me was there. Conveniently, he ran to the back and never showed up again. Some items were already marked returned. When I called UPS for tracking of one of them they said it was delivered to the post office yesterday at 12:12 PM and signed by employee. Yet the post office denies having it. They seem to be very bothered when asked to check for packages at any time I've been there. we have a new letter carrier. Who is a very rude young man. A package says delivered to my mailbox, which was not there. I went down shortly after the mail was delivered as well & still daylight hours. He won't even entertain the fact that he delivered it incorrectly to some other address insist it must've been stolen. And said file a complaint with the person in charge of the Kilauea post office turned his back, got back in his truck and drove off. We do not have our mailboxes and never have. He has not been on duty that long and the way I see it, He probably won't be there that much longer. Not with an attitude like he has. read more

We're moving from the Mainland and live outside of the USPS delivery zone. Something we didn't know until a few packages were held by Bully, the local Post Master. I called the Post Office and Bully was so helpful and understanding of my mistake. He really went above and beyond by pulling the packages and setting them aside for us. They had important items to start our quarantine so we couldn't be more appreciative! read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Kilauea, Hawaii

Nice little country post office. Last year during the north shore flood recovery process they served as a back up PO for the Hanalei PO. This one stays pretty busy throughout the day. I make several trips to the Kihei post office when I visit Maui. I learned the first time I visited that sending gifts from here is a lot more efficient than dragging things home. I've found the postal workers here to be super friendly and helpful - they are used to mainlanders coming here wanting to ship items home and even though I am sure they've answered the same questions a zillion times, they never seem to be condescending or mean. My expert tip for sending things home - it is usually cheaper to send things back in the large "Aloha box" - a flat rate priority mail box that costs $13.95. The box is free but you'll need to tape it. You can buy tape at the post office, but it's cheaper to get it at the Long's nearby (which is also a great place to pick up souveniers.) There's a box that doesn't need tape, but that can be a bit more expensive as they weigh that one. The line here is never really busy unless you come in about 30 minutes before they close - I made that mistake once and was there forever.....(could have also been that it was right before Christmas too.) If you really want to avoid a line, just come in close to when they open - always a ghost town at 8.45 a.m. (Did I really just review the post office for my 500th review? Um, yeah...) read more

Lately I've been choosing the Post Office when I need to mail things back to the mainland. Now this place can get busy. But usually the line moves pretty quickly. Save yourself some time by picking up the Flat Rate boxes and envelopes ahead of time. You don't pay for them until you use them. So if you ship often, take a few home and fill them out then bring them in. I've had really good experience with shipping flat rate to the mainland. Packages arrive on time and rates are affordable. This post office has pretty friendly and helpful service, even though it's busy often. The employees seem to be used to it. Last week I arrived 3 minutes after they closed and they were kind enough to let me in. Wether you live here or are visiting, this is a great shipping option. read more

Good location lots of tourists, on S Kihei Road, best to get there early morning when it opens, it can get pretty crowded with tourists mailing their goods home. Friendly service despite the line ups and tons of folks. read more

A pretty standard small country post office. Nice staff that are friendly and converse frequently with the regulars. P.O. Boxes are standard with the option for larger P.O. Boxes as well. If you are receiving a large package for pickup, you can park in the back of the post office to pickup your heavy parcels. There is a ledge that makes it easier to transfer your packages to your car. read more

My wife and I were on vacation here in Kihei and needed to apply for our passports. We went to another Maui Post Office and was given the run around. The staff here are great! Friendly and experienced. The lines are really long, but that's a standard these days at the USPS.

Read the reviews about them being very rude and thought it couldn't be that bad, called and when the lady answered she let me say a little less than half my sentence before interrupting me to say "yeah we're actually closed today, byeeeeee" and hanging up. By far the worst service I've ever been given. In desperate need of a new manager who actually fires the shitty employees. read more

Rudest staff of any post office I've ever been into. Where is these people's Aloha? I got a package notice on my door stating that I missed the mailman and I now need to pick up the package at the post office after 4:15. I show up there at 4:30 and no one will answer the door, no one will get my package, and eventually when I ring the bell for a very long time someone comes out and yells at me very rudely. They told me they're closed and they won't get my package. I show them the slip that says to come in after 4:15 and I'm here at 4:30 and they say they don't care come back tomorrow. Absolutely unbelievable. These idiots need to get their stuff together. Why does the mailman leave me a slip telling me to come in after 4:15 and I get there 4:30 and get treated like crap for doing so? Right hand isn't talking to the left hand here.
