The gentleman immediately advised me the better option of using post office packaging. He saved me approximately $5.00 with this. He secured my items with care in paper and asked if it was fragile. He walked me through the logistics of how easily the shipping boxes sealed and the cost of my savings. I was given my receipt and tracking number, and was sent off confident about my experience with the staff here. Quick, painless. And the serviceman made the process comfortable and informative!!

10/25/24 Dropping off postcards for friends…read more This little post office is located in Hanalei. For the "older" & wiser crowds lol, remember Puff the Magic Dragon by Peter, Paul, & Mary? The song was inspired by Hanalei. This P.O. Is tiny, as most of the ones I have visited on this island but it serves its purpose well. Staff are friendly & conversational, fairly efficient. The P.O. boxes are showing some wear & tear--what do you expect for this type of humid & salty environment? Parking is about 6 spots including disabled access. I wanted to buy different postcard stamps but the only available ones are the sailboats, they're out of the tropical fish- that would've been perfectly ideal. DaRn. Let's hope the postcards are delivered before to the addressees before we return the mainland. (Ha! Wishful thinking)

After a few of our packages were returned/not delivered we signed up for general delivery and we ordered everything again. When I came to pick it up, they said none of that is there, they couldn't find my sign up for general delivery, even though the gentleman who did it for me was there. Conveniently, he ran to the back and never showed up again. Some items were already marked returned. When I called UPS for tracking of one of them they said it was delivered to the post office yesterday at 12:12 PM and signed by employee. Yet the post office denies having it. They seem to be very bothered when asked to check for packages at any time I've been there. I understand we are not "locals" and we are treated differently, but this is little bit too much.

I had received multiple alerts and spoken with numerous ( out of state ) USPS rep's in the mainland & who all told me a million different answers - none of which explained why my package spent 5+ days at the origin facility before going to Honolulu. Even though Iris had nothing to do with what happened in the origin location / couldn't figure out exactly what was happening to cause the problem during our brief phone conversation - she still offered to take the matter into her own hands by offering to watch out for the package whereabouts and potential issues as well as gathering my contact info so that she could follow-up w/ another call in the next 48 hrs. Fortunately, less than 24 hours later - 2 packages were in my mailbox!! (the delayed pkg AND another pkg that wasn't supposed to arrive for at least another day!!) I just wanted to make sure she was acknowledged for delivering superb customer service after making me feel like I was in the right hands & that my problem was actually being taken seriously - whether Iris is solely responsible for both the packages showing up in my mailbox in w/in 12 hours or not - SHE IS 100% responsible for keeping me as one of USPS's returning/pleased customers

It is a hassle to get my mail because it is a 15 minute drive each way. Yes. Post offices always have very limited open hours for counter service. No. Nothing is automated at this post office - no stamp machine. Yes. There is always a line. But the last couple years we have seen new employees at this location that make the difference. Real true customer service with genuine smiles...and they take the time to know your name. Thank you Patrick and Alicia (spelling?).

After having difficulty reaching the Hanalei office despite several calls over multiple days, the Kalaheo office was kind enough to assist me. David, in particular, went above and beyond. Even though my issue wasn't something he would normally handle, he took the time to help and followed up with me personally to let me know he had been able to resolve a package issue. I really appreciated his extra effort and excellent customer service.

Normally, the FedEx guys are really careful with packages that they are delivering to me. The last…read moretwo times, the FedEx delivery guy took sensitive electronic equipment and threw it over a fence in the rain and there was no notification of delivery. The same thing the next day. It must be a new guy who is making the deliveries. This time it was sensitive medical supplies that had to be kept refrigerated. The delivery guy didn't bother to open the gate, and left this on the side of the highway in full sun.
