It took me a while to find it which is great because that means not too many other tourist know about this. So the day we fly to Kauai was a holiday. As soon as we got the car, we headed straight to Waialua Falls. Once done there, we made our way to this swinging bridge, less than 10-mins away. It's in a small neighborhood. And parking was nonexistent. So I pulled into a business' parking lot and told my family to go look around and I'd stay in the car and wait for someone to tell me to move. But I got out of the car for a bit just to look around real quick when I noticed the sign on the business said they were closed for the holiday. Then I realized, that day WAS a holiday. And so I was able to enjoy the grounds with my family. And, no other tourist were around. Just a homeowner working on his surfboard. The surroundings are beautiful. Super quiet. Bridge was a bit shaky. And then I walked up the stairs at the end of the bridge where it took us to the church where there's plenty of parking. So if you plan on visiting, park at the Immaculate Conception Church. Yes, highly recommend.

You can easily miss this hidden gem. Right off the highway…read morebut you'll feel like you walked into a little serenity spot. Beautiful place and well maintained. Not clear where to park so we just pulled in where it seemed likely. Once you cross the bridge you can follow the path up the hill to an old church and you can read a bit of the history behind this area. Short bridge but a quick fun stop. Love the swaying motion of the bridge.

Nice quality helicopter, roomy, with clean windows. They take care of you, safety, seating, strapping in, they cover it. We did the Grand Skies Island Tour. I liked how we dealt directly with the company and received a superior tour. It lasted about an hour. Don't forget to tip your pilot. Considering the prices of other tours, this is a better value and the pilot deserves it.

You get up close, personal, and immersed in scenery you could never imagine. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the most fabulous team. We had a slight delay due to a minor maintenance issue on one of the helicopters, but Aaron from the ground crew kept us constantly updated and even helped coordinate a plan to make sure we'd still make a reservation we had later that afternoon. Pua jumped in as well, working with Aaron and our pilot to ensure everything stayed on track. These two made the wait feel like no wait at all--true pros who kept us totally at ease. Huge kudos to both of them! Once we were in the air, our pilot Steven was incredible. He's extremely knowledgeable about the island, and his playlist made the flight feel like a scene straight out of a movie. He's an outstanding pilot, and if we had more time, we'd go back for round two in a heartbeat. Pua Aaron Steven You guys are perfect!!!!

The Island of Kauai had a long run producing sugar cane, but that has faded along with the government subsidies. Now, the island is seeing the land being converted to coffee plantations. But back in 1965, this site of a former Sugar Mill was designated as a Historic Place. 20 years later, this monument was built to commemorate the history of the area. The monument includes contributor plaques as well as six informational plaques that tell all about the sugar industry and local history. But the eye-catching focus of the monument is the full-sized depiction of numerous sugar mill workers cast in bronze by artist Gordon Fisher in 1985. The native people are shown performing certain tasks, some standing, some seated. It is a beautiful piece dedicated to capturing the look of the island people at the height of the sugar trade.
