More often than not, the mail lady delivers my mail to another mailbox, or I get my neighbors mail/packages. Or it just doesn't get delivered at all. At least 3 times since I've moved here, I've had to go in to the post office to trace my package. Three times already, I've had to re order debit cards because she delivers to either another mailbox, or who knows where. I've even seen neighbors mail on the floor before like she dropped it & just didn't bother to pick it up. Not sure how hard it is for her to do her job, but maybe she should retire or find a job she CAN do. read more

I love this place. Hometown customer service and meticulous organization. My packages never get lost and they are treated with care. The parking lot is spacious and the place is so clean. I can even get my greeting and gift cards in the lobby. The staff is warm and gracious. The fees are reasonable. My only complaint is that it takes about 18 h for your package to get logged in and to be received, as they get so many packages to sort through, you have to wait until the next morning. That's ok, I can manage through that, as long as the packages arrive! Thank you, USPS staff! read more

Living in a rural area, if I didn't have a post office box I'd end up with tweakers rooting through my street-side mail box and stealing my stuff so five stars for providing me an affordable way to reliably receive my mail. The post office itself is clean, has available parking, and staff are generally hard-working and very pleasant. Having said that, there's one person here who literally audibly sighs when they have to retrieve a package for me. I've bought stamps from them before and attempted to make small talk by remarking the stamps were pretty and they've, again, sighed and said "I guess so." Okay! I've seen them be effusively cheerful with other people so the lack of enthusiasm feels specific for some reason but... whatever. I receive my mail safely and that's what counts. read more

I try to keep things positive and say nothing if nothing kind can be said. I also want to support USPS because they need our support. But these jagaloons make it impossible. The only word I can think of to describe these people is indolent. How hard is it to pick up out going mail? Why is it such a big deal to pick up a package? Why even have pick up services if you don't follow through? Just do your damn job! read more

I love my new home, and I love this post office. Loving this post office reaffirms my decision to live in the middle of nowhere and reminds me how kind and friendly people can be in small towns. The quality of service at this USPS branch is incredible. I'm back and forth to/from my house in Joshua Tree, a lot, and I always forget to put my mail on hold. Whenever I call down to the branch and sheepishly give my address they laugh and usually my timing is just right so they put me on hold and go ask the mail carrier if he's been delivering my mail or not. Then they come back on the phone (no more than a minute or two later) and let me know where my mail is, and ask how long I'd like for them to continue holding it at the branch. I love that when I call the branch I get to speak to a real live person, and I love that when I go into the branch they know me and joke around with me. There's never a very long line at this location, so mailing packages is easy and efficient and you've got all the time in the world to ask stupid questions about priority mail versus express mail versus snail mail prices and delivery dates and the like. Even during the typical Christmas rush, this branch was only mildly busy, and picking up a package the day after Christmas took a total of ten minutes. Recently there was a little article in one of the local tourist mags about this post office, with a nice photo of the entire staff, smiling. Apparently one of their customers lives way out in 29 Palms but switched her PO Box to this branch location because she loved the quality of service and the friendliness of the staff in Joshua Tree. read more

The employees at this post office have been very tolerant of my quirks over the past 20 years. For 15 years I worked out of town and was typically gone for 3-5 days at a time but would sometimes go on big campaign fires and be gone for much longer. I tried to time my packages accordingly but I didn't always get it right. They never complained even though I have heard them say their space in the back is limited. After I retired I left town for what I thought would be a few months but ended up being gone for 18 months. They never complained that I only picked up mail once a month and my box would get jam packed. I've gone through shop-a-holic phases where I constantly had packages coming in and I've gone in the opposite direction with outgoing packages because I sold my stuff on Ebay. They've always been patient and helpful. I'm introverted and awkward so I dread going inside to deal with packages but the employees are so nice that afterward I feel stupid for feeling that way. This is a busy little post office and the employees there work so hard. I'm thankful for them and I'm thankful for a safe place to receive mail. read more

Do not come here!!!! Whatever you do! I sent two birthday cards (on different occasions) and didn't have stamps so I had to go inside the post office to send. Those two birthday cards one in May and one in July NEVER got to the two different people I sent it two. Only explanation since I did everything right when mailing would be somebody is stealing the cards and seeing if they have money. So sad they would do it at that specific location. I have sent birthday cards and thank you cards from my house and they always have arrived to the people I have sent them two. When I went in this location to ask them they told me only THREE people work there and non of them would do that. I'm sorry sweetie you never know who your coworkers are. DO not go here to send birthday cards!!! They will open them!!! Lesson learned. read more

So everyone knows that we had a terrible storm last week that wreck our streets, So why did i just overhear the Post Master from that office tell a disabled couple that she wont allow mail to be delivered there because a hole on the street. Worst part was that she also told the she was going to sue them for damage on the post office vehicle. WOW!! read more

My review of all the local post offices is not of any employs. My problem is with ther money order that they can't ever cash. USPO has no problem taken the money 4 ther money order to be purchased, but cashing one is like pulling teeth. Iv'e been to 3 different high desert post offices multiple times trying to cash a thousand dollar one. Always a different story... it's too early, or i'm to late. Most of the time they "say" they don't have the cash! Then why sell money orders at all? read more

I am giving Kudos to Carol at the Jt Post Office. When we first moved here about a year ago, I thought she was very gruff. My Error! She may seem very focused and busy but that's because she is. I have now had 5 different episodes where she suggested a cheaper alternative, searched diligently for a missing package, patient waded through greeting card coupons, or caught a possible error on my outgoing package address.
