They are a training ground and get workers transferred out frequently only to start training again. We have been doing business with them for 40 years, myself for 11. What these newcomers to the islands write is the frustration of impatience. They do not understand that just because your order may say delivered, that does not mean that the thousands of packages have been sorted out for a yellow slip of notification for pick up. The frustration is often the result of improperly addressed mail which is the fault of the customer and not the Post Office. They really do work hard and deserve to be recognized instead of vilified. I'm so happy that there was a UPS Store in Waimea town!…read more Driving from Kailua-Kona to Honoka'a, then making my last stop in Waimea, upon having lunch at the Parker Ranch Food Court, I noticed this UPS Store just a few doors down from the food court. Being that I had (5) boxes of broken parts I needed to send back state side, this UPS Store sure was a lifesaver! As I walked into the store I asked one of the clerks if I could borrow a hand truck, that way I could load up all my (5) boxes & bring it into the store one crack! I must say the staff here was friendly, and more than accommodating. The service here was efficient, as the clerk processed my (5) boxes quickly. One of my boxes wasn't packed up yet, as I ran out of shipping tape, but the nice thing about coming to this UPS Store is that they sold shipping supplies. I purchased a small roll of shipping tape, and I gotta say it was sorta pricey, but the convenience factor reflects the price you pay here. If I'm working in Waimea again, it's nice to know that there's a UPS Store here, that way it saves me a trip from having to go down to Kailua-Kona, or to Pahoa town.

Have you heard that the USPS is a money-losing venture and has been since email and the internet? This is Hawaii and a place where even a smidge of kindness goes a long way, far longer than complaints on the internet. Ka'u is the largest district on the Big Island and we're very lucky to even have a post office in our town. Imagine if we did not and had to drive 30 minutes to get your mail. Parking is still a little bit of an issue cause no one here has mailboxes and mail service is difficult but the employees here are amazing! So nice, friendly and smiling. It such a breeze to send anything and especially pick up my packages. My favorite person here is Russel J!!! He always is smiling, always is willing to help anyone and even makes suggestions to make my postal needs easier. Couldn't be happier!
