They are a training ground and get workers transferred out frequently only to start training again. We have been doing business with them for 40 years, myself for 11. What these newcomers to the islands write is the frustration of impatience. They do not understand that just because your order may say delivered, that does not mean that the thousands of packages have been sorted out for a yellow slip of notification for pick up. The frustration is often the result of improperly addressed mail which is the fault of the customer and not the Post Office. They really do work hard and deserve to be recognized instead of vilified. I've had many issues with the mail lady refusing to deliver my packages and leaving the "sorry we've missed you" slip in my mail box even though I'm home 24/7. Pleas to redeliver have been ignored and I'm continually inconvenienced to have to travel to the post office to physically pick up my mail, often time sensitive business packages, which puts a strain on my day to day operations. It would be great if the mail lady could please deliver my packages professionally and correctly to my front door as instructed for I do not wish to inconvenience their work flow with official complaints to the post master and world rather us both be able to operate efficiently. Have you heard that the USPS is a money-losing venture and has been since email and the internet? This is Hawaii and a place where even a smidge of kindness goes a long way, far longer than complaints on the internet. Ka'u is the largest district on the Big Island and we're very lucky to even have a post office in our town. Imagine if we did not and had to drive 30 minutes to get your mail. And this person is throwing the post office under the bus as they try to deal with Covid? Please return your yelp-complaining, ungrateful self to Texas. This isn't your kind of place.
