Only one PO staffer working the window but cleared the line reasonably quickly as I was the last guy in line. Not much of a conversation outside of getting the transaction done so they could handle the rest of the line and that cleared out folks. They have a machine for some package and mail services, and a lot of PO Boxes here. Close to the PATH. All the basic services, and stamps were mostly available though holiday stamps weren't out yet when I visited. Open Mon-Fri 8-4:30p and Sat 9-12p, a bit shorter than the one north in Hoboken. read more

US Post Office - Counter - Post Offices Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

The best post office with the best postal worker, Dianne!!! I moved to the area a month ago and needed to mail something. I'm so happy to discover Dianne and the Hoboken PO. She's so kind and so positive. It's a joy to come here!!! Thanks for always adding joy and kindness to my day, Dianne. A++++ read more

Came in at 4:30 on a Monday (they close at 5) and the help windows were boarded up, no staff were there, and there was no signage either to indicate they decided to close early. Super frustrating considering their hours are already so limited read more

US Post Office - Closed 30 mins early. No staff there. No sign. - Post Offices Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

Tameka is amazing! She helped me out and showed me how to make my own shipping labels. Very helpful and sweet.

Constantly refused service for no valid reasons. There is one clerk that likes to tell everyone to use the dropbox and makes it extremely difficult to get packages scanned in. I don't use the drop box because my packages are insured and the receipt scan at the drop box doesn't count as a a proper scan if the package gets lost. The lady has invented multiple reasons to refuse to take my packages. Here are some examples: 1. Name doesn't match the return address (I like to use a pseudonym for privacy purposes) 2. I was shipping out 0.1 fl oz of perfume so the label had a hazmat sign. She said it was dangerous so she won't take it BUT i could drop it in the drop box. So apparently it was dangerous enough for her not to touch it but not dangerous enough to be in the building and for other people to handle? Also I told her it is 0.1 fl oz of perfume. 3. She sometimes doesn't bother giving a reason other than "just doesn't feel like it" or "why can't you use the machine" read more

Dreadful. Where efficiency goes to die. A monument to why the USPS is in shambles. Waited 25 Minutes for service with a scowl. Would avoid at all costs. Sadly, this is the best PO in Hoboken read more

Customer service was rude as fuck. Y'all need to hire some new employees. You also don't open on time.

Tameka was extremely helpful and informative when I was applying for my passport! She was very patient and pleasant while helping me fill out my paperwork. :) read more

Quite possibly the rudest service I have ever received. Do not ask questions or for clarification; they'll treat you like a child and even walk away from you if they feel like it. read more

The most pathetic customer service ever The lady who does the passports is a completely idiot. If she could speak clearly and do her job in an efficient manner. People wouldn't get aggravated with her. She said she couldn't help me cause she was too stressed. I'm stressed cause she doesn't know how to speak clearly so I know what I need. She shouldn't be doing this job. I have never seen anyone ao ineffective at their job. If you are too stressed cause you can't speak. Then get a new job and don't work for USPS. It's no wonder people hate the post office. Get people who know what they are doing. It's shocking the people they let work here. Can't wait for USPS to eventually become inept read more

I'm missing mail that was supposed to be delivered and the worker was rude and unhelpful.

This is definitely a sad mess of an establishment. I arrived 10 minutes early for my passport appointment and am currently writing this on my 35th minute sitting here waiting for someone to tell me what's going on. I went up to the window after 20 minutes of waiting and was brushed off by the rude male clerk who told me to "just wait longer". Why set appointments if you don't plan on honoring them or at least providing an update on what's going on? Hopefully I get out of here at some point, considering I've already lost more than enough time sitting in this dirty and decrepit building. For all of the money this town has you'd think they'd have more acceptable facilities. read more

MY DEBIT CARD # was STOLEN from this location. I had not used it anywhere else so I know it was here! PROTECT YOURSELF!!! Just an awful place. Employees give you misinformation and their hours are challenging to work with. Always long slow moving lines. Don't come here for passports - save yourself! read more

Use stamps.com instead. These guys are so rude. I get it. Their job is probably dead end. In a few years stamps.com will replace the postal workers and that's fine with me. read more

I feel that the low ratings of this USPS is a result of just angry people taking out their bad service on Yelp, and no one with good or great service on here praising them because, hey, its USPS, they're not a small business, they'll always be here! But my wife and I had a good experience here, and if you think they're horrible, it was a GREAT experience. The staff worked with us to find just the right box for our gear we needed to ship back, offered us any help we needed- even let us make sure something fit before we bought the box (flat rates were too small). So yeah, if you're nice, and they aren't stressed, you'll get a good service. read more

The workers here have always been really nice to me (especially the older guy with glasses), but in the morning there are always a million people waiting in line to mail something. Even in broad daylight, sometimes there are still tons of people in line. It makes the whole experience kind of a drag. Also, the hours make it impossible to go after work - the office closes at 5pm, although the lobby hours stay open a little longer so you can use the automatic postage center. Which, by the way, is a really nice tool, but you can't use it for international shipments. read more

Everyone knows USPS sucks, but this one is beyond your worst expectation. I seriously question if their customer service can be worse. I usually don't write reviews on yelp but this store's bad service left me no choice. I came here to return something to Barneys (I hope they can choose a different mailing partner). I told one male employee that I want to return a package and he simply take my package away and did not give me receipt and when I asked him for the receipt his attitude can not be more impolite. He acted like my asking for receipt is something bothers him. Give yourself a break and choose UPS/ Fedex instead. read more

Wow. I've never had a worse customer experience service in my 11 years of living in NY/NJ. I have family who live S. Korea so I frequently mail packages for birthdays and holidays. I went today at approximately 4:30p.m. and had the misfortune to meet Gary, an older man with glasses. The package was larger than the usual ones I mail and I filled out the wrong custom form. He didn't tell me this but I saw him take it out and I asked him if he wanted me to refill it out. He cut me off rudely and said, "Let me finish." Cool. Then he printed out the shipping label WITHOUT ASKING ME WHICH SHIPPING OPTION I WANTED. All of the other times, the customer rep will ask me which shipping option I want (I always pick the cheapest because it's so expensive to ship packages internationally). Fine, let's say there was only one option today but it's protocol to tell the customer how much it's going to cost BEFORE anything else. I stopped him and asked if that was the cheapest option and he manexplained to me "that packages aren't send on boats -- they're sent on airplanes". OH, thanks for clearing that up for me dude. I will be filing an official complaint with USPS. They need to retrain these workers with some major etiquette and protocols. read more

It is actually quite terrifying how aggressive the employees are at this location. Specifically the woman who runs the passport desk. Any questions I asked about the process were met with literal yelling. I was blown away. read more

This is the worst post office I have ever been to. They only ever have one person working the counter while you can see all the other workers standing around chatting and flirting with each other. The line is usually out the door and they are so slow and never open up more windows. They also lock the big mailbox where you can quickly drop off prepaid packages. Is this so we have to wait in the line and be even more inconvenienced? What is the point of even having that mailbox? This place is desperate for new management and to purge all current employees and start over fresh. The customer service here is beyond awful. I just called to ask why my box I dropped off 5 hours ago still hasn't been scanned and the so called "Supervisor" with a thick accent yelled at me telling me they are busy. So for the past 5 hours, they have been too busy to quickly scan a prepaid package label? He said it will be scanned at 3pm and when I asked why not until then, he hung up on me. read more

Terrible customer service strikes again. I am in this post office daily dropping off pre purchased label packages. Most days I bring my dog on our morning walks. I waited in line 30 minutes today and even had one of the employees/supervisor ask what I needed help with, which he said could be done at the window. I finally made it to the window just for the rude employee to inform me dogs weren't allowed in the lobby area. I explained I had been here multiple times over the course of two months and didnt know this was a policy. She then informed me she would not be providing me any services because of my dog. Whyhad no other employee including the supervisor informed me of this in the past. If it is policy I understand but at least provide me with the services I waited in line for. Safe to say I will be taking my eBay store else where. read more

Sent out a package and everyone was helpful despite the negative stereotypes of postal workers. Quick and easy

I wish I could give this place zero stars. They are the rudest people that I have ever encountered. They could not have been less helpful. I now see why they're rated so low. Horrible, horrible customer service. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

I've been tracking two Amazon purchases for the last few days. Today, Saturday, I noticed that the packages were at the Post Office, so I called them and asked a woman if I could give her my tracking numbers and walk over and pick them up. She transferred me to her supervisor. He began yelling into the phone, "why you need your package!?!?" I thought it was a joke, I was caught off guard. "Why are they so important to you!?!?" I said I wanted to pick them up because they just are important to me. It may have sounded like a question. I wasn't sure how to answer a no-brainer like why do I want the things that I bought, and why I am justifying online purchases with you... He yelled about why didn't I choose faster shipping and again, why so Important. Then, "you can wait until Monday!" and he hung up on me. I'm going to avoid using USPS at all costs. I wouldn't speak to a stranger the way that supervisor spoke to me, a customer. read more

I really want to give them no star, the old Asian woman there is really rude and arrogant, I am wondering why usps has such person hired to work. Also they lost my package three weeks ago, I called them to track my package and they promised they will check and call me back in the next day, but they never did that, and the attitude is really bad. Finally I have to call the seller to ask for help, and the seller told me usps must lost my package and they will ship to me a new one using Fedex. In a word, just avoid working with them!!! read more

This USPS charged me $35 for a delivery and then lost my package. When I went back to report it, the man behind the counter completely brushed me off. read more

This location is close to the Path train. The employees are behind glass so you have to put packages through a box to get it to them. They sell greeting cards in addition to regular packing supplies. read more

I showed up early to get my passport and I guess I made some mistakes, but there were also things I did correctly that I was criticized for. In addition, the appointment before me was allowed to fill out the forms in person, which meant their appointment took up all of mine as well and I couldn't get a straight answer as to time. I did make mistakes and I got defensive about it, which I tried to apologize for, but it still seems as if the employee's aggressive and personally abusive response was out of line. But maybe I am just a bad person, I don't know. read more

I brought 85 invitations to this location and asked for them to be hand-cancelled. Employee took them without incident. I held 3 back so I could finish assembling and got back in line to ask for those to be hand-cancelled, as well. The new employee helping me told me that "they don't do that anymore." Excuse me? What happened to my 85 invitations I just handed over, without any mention of this? I was assured that no post office does this service anymore and that everything is run through a machine. (Again, why take the first batch without telling me that? It was literally the only thing I asked to be done to them.) When I brought up that I had recently had the service provided in Edgewater, employee #2 told me it wasn't true. I asked for all my invitations back and proceeded to the Edgewater USPS, where I was given my own hand stamp and a bucket to ensure the envelopes would not go through any machine. Much more courteous, personable, and helpful staff. read more

Okay, the majority of the people I've dealt with at this location are rude and just flat out nasty. There's one younger guy that sometimes works in the front who's nice and also this woman behind the counter who is pleasant, but other than that I really don't care to go in this location because of the extreme negative vibes I get and how I have to hear, first hand how rude the majority of these workers are to their customers. Like seriously I really don't understand. First of all, you are employed and second of all you're employed by the government (comfortable, steady job sorting mail and providing customer service). Can it really be that bad? I don't understand. Please help me understand. Recommendation: Be more pleasant, helpful, and communicative with your customers and show them more respect. read more

Uggg....Unbelievable. I have not received mail in over a week and no sympathy. Basically, tried to blame me for not getting the name of the person who should have installed the building key. Now we have to start this process all over again. Agree with all the other negative posts; I guess government job security really takes away from any motivation to make customers happy. read more

this place is poorly run. i don't know if it is due to lack of people working or lack of time management, but the lines are truly unacceptable. then, you get up there to do your biz, and you cannot hear word one they are saying behind the barrier! talk louder! also, folks who work there need to know what they are doing! a young lady was insisting my international package paperwork to france must have a translated address. no! how did she expect the french mail carrier to deliver!? finally, the box i was carrying got caught on the door of the entrance. i needed a little strapping tape. you have to buy tape now! and it is a set price. and it won't be for a new roll. personnel have zero clue what customs forms should be filled out, and often the choices if forms are not put out for customer. it is an utter nightmare that place!! horrible beyond measure! read more

The woman names Imelda yelled at me. For whatever situations, you should not yell at customer. Very rude.

I came here to pick up a package. I didn't have a USPS tracking number, only had FedEx and I was told by FedEx to pick up the package at the post office. Person at the pick up area told me tracking # is only way they can find the package, not by name, address etc. Worst customer service ever, I had to come here twice and talked to two different people. Both were very rude and unwilling to help. Over all nasty attitude. I understand they are under paid and have to deal with people all day but man....these people. Just nasty and miserable people. read more

If I could give no stars I would!A letter that was supposed to be certified signed was actually signed by the mail carrier not the business person! And to make it worse the letter/check was never found/cashed either! Horrible service. Stay away if you can avoid it. The workers were completely rude for no reason, even for something as simple as paying for postage on two envelopes. I'm sure everyone has heard horror stories about the DMV and USPS and this location is no exception. Such an example of inefficient government workers would make Ron Swanson proud (but would infuriate and annoy pretty much anyone else). read more

I live in Jersey City and travel all the way to location in Hoboken in River Street. They are much friendlier and truly care about their customers waiting. I have been there about 3-4 times over the past year and they are highly efficient and pleasant. I just went in there today, it was around 1pm so I expected to wait. As soon as I opened the door, I was pleasantly greeted by an employee who promptly handled my transaction. I honestly wish they could bring some of their wonderfully trained staff to the Jersey City locations to show them how they should properly deal with customers and effectively perform their jobs since they are severely lacking in those areas. I read previous reviews and it seemed like they truly acted on the previous customer feedback. Keep up the great work Hoboken Team! read more

This place is a disgrace. They are all useless people in that office who don't know anything about their job. They take forever to send out packages, and have now actually lost something that we ordered. The worst part is they refuse to offer any help whatsoever. What a terrible establishment. Instead of taking responsibility for screwing up orders they simply blame anyone else involved. It is really sad and if this was not a government agency and a private business, they would have been shut down years ago. read more

Omg horrendous.
