Lydia and the supervisor worst customer service ever. They refused to take a package that I'm mailing to my friend who's currently on deployment. They said I need to get the last 4 after the zip code. Zip code isn't enough and they wouldn't budge to help look it up. They both told me is my lost and ask your friend on deployment for that information. They both didn't want to help me and everything was filled out correctly. It's not the first time I mail packages out to the military. They refused to help me. They did t took my package either to try. read more

Holy Moly! So it is true. The post office is possibly not a safe environment. Went into the post office today to pick up a parcel, and saw the post master walking on the left of the counter with his mask down. He pulled it up as soon as he saw me looking at him. He had it on when I saw him in the hallway outside. There is a clear notice on the door that face masks must be worn. Does he give a damn about his fellow workers. This is not his house, his home. This unlawful, and shameful for the good people of Coupeville. Particularly for his postal colleagues. They deserve better. The post office is a very enclosed space, no ventilation to speak of. I try very hard not to enter ever! Perhaps we need more comments to bring about change? read more

I so miss our old Postmaster who was a real gem and "Jimmy Stewart" type... positive and friendly. A small close community warrants a friendly postmaster and not a negative Grinch. My heart sinks when I see him working up front and wish he would just stay in the back. He clearly has no people skills and is not qualified for this post. I once asked for a half inch piece of tape because I was mailing something that had to be weighed and the seal was a bit loose. After he first ignored my request...I decided to ask again. All Hell broke loose and I literally got a lecture from him about how he couldn't afford to give me a piece of tape! I said he should please put up a donation jar for such times customers are in need instead I had to spend another $4.25 for purchasing tape at the post office on top of my $14 shipping. First off, I've been in this town my whole life and we've traditionally had the most wonderful, friendliest post masters at our small town post office that made going in there a pleasure. Still today, there are two gentleman that work at the post office front desk that are are friendly and kind as can be. But the postmaster is an ASS and he is not representative of our town and needs to go. First off, at best, the guy has NO customer service skills. You know what helps? A smile! He is grumpy, short and just shy of rude in just a regular non-confrontational exchange. Okay, fine....it can't be an easy job. I'll give him a pass. But then we've had an issue (ongoing one) with our new delivery driver. Our new driver apparently is scared of our dogs (this is a rural community, we're a farm, we have dogs a lot of places do around here) and so apparently she won't deliver packages to our houses (two on our property) because of that. Nevermind these are the same dogs we've had for years, our other driver never had an issue and we get often MULTIPLE UPS and FedEX deliveries every day no problem. But okay, fine, we are typically outside (again working farm) and if the driver comes up and honks most likely somebody will see her and even greet her on the way up. And the dogs often aren't around either. I'd be happy to introduce her to the dogs and have a friendly chat about our place, but she hasn't attempted to engage at all (unlike our previous drivers especially Mary, we had her for years. She was a delight.). Well yesterday, I was standing in my yard outside my house walking to my vehicle. When the driver drove down the road toward our place she should have even been able to SEE me. Both dogs were locked up. There was ANOTHER farm employee driving down our lane up to the other house. Well I needed to run an errand, so I jumped into my truck and I saw the lady backing up into our driveway and turning around (we are the last stop on our route so she turns around in our driveway and goes back down the road the way she came). So she apparently delivered the mail to our box at end of driveway, per usual and left. Well then, 15 minutes later, my employee gets an email from the company she ordered a package from (and had been waiting desperately) that it couldn't be delivered because "it would have to be left untended" and it was at the post office and re-delivery would be attempted tomorrow. It was too big for the mailbox and so the driver wouldn't come down our lane. What??? I was like LITERALLY 100 YARDS down the lane. She should have been able to SEE ME when she drove up the road. There was another person driving around in our farmyard. The driver DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT to see if anybody was home. And she certainly didn't know if our dogs were out or not because she didn't drive up to find out. Okay, so we're irritated. I go stand in a 20 minute Christmas line, and I pick up the package and I ask to talk the postmaster and make a complaint. He immediately becomes defensive and a jerk. He starts going off about the dogs again despite me repeatedly telling him SHE DIDN'T EVEN COME DOWN THE LANE to know whether the dogs were out or not! Then he says "well she would have to back out of your driveway?" WHAT? No! We have multiple turn arounds and even a "circle" you can turn around. We get large semi truck deliveries down our driveway, we can handle a little mail delivery truck! I give up and leave, meanwhile my employee goes down then a bit later (she hadn't got the message I had her package lol). And she gets the same asshole stuff from the postmaster again. Only now he is going off about our dogs, "it only takes one" and "I don't want to have somebody's dog put down." Well, listen, if somebody's dog bites your delivery driver and has to be put down, that's on the owner NOT the post office. And hey, if the lady driver is scared, fair enough, she can just drive up and honk and if nobody around and the dogs are out, take the package back. It's not like the dogs are gonna like Kujo leap through her window to take her out. Oh, and btw, our dogs LOVE all the delivery drivers. Why? Because they think they all have TREATS! So if they are out, and a driver comes up, yep they run up and sit their looking hopefully for a treat. But in all this, it is this jerk's dismissive, arrogant, aggressive attitude that really pisses me off. We're a small, rural, country town. Our post office has often been a place where "you meet your neighbors and have a chat." This guy ruins that. I can't imagine what it's like working for him. Although, in his defense, I would imagine that if he was ever a mail driver he did really have a problem with dogs on his route. The dogs know a jerk when they see them. read more

I was shocked a couple week's ago to discover a maskless man in our post office being serviced at the front desk. When I told him there was a federal mandate for wearing one in federal buildings as well as one from our Governor and our mayor he still refused. The postmaster/manager appeared and explained that it was not required but only a CDC suggestion! I was pretty sure it was mandated by the president but, he remained adamant. After a bit of research I came back the next day with the proof and provided it to him. He admitted that it was the law, but, he was not going to enforce it saying, "What do you expect me to do call the Marshall?" To which I respond "Of course!". At that point we appealed to our Mayor who spoke to him and she says he assured her he would comply with the law. I was therefore shocked to see him maskless again, on 2/11/21, casually walking around the facility, inside and outside without a mask. Service at the Coupeville PO has declined from what it was a decade ago. It's not awful, but ... One recent package that had been scanned in here but never made it to my box. Although there's a 10-minute postal customer parking sign at the entrance to the front lot, a couple of postal workers routinely park there, even during the Christmas crush (there are other adjacent lots they could use). The customer service attitude has an edge of "the postal worker is always right." So, the Coupeville has lost its small-town, we know you, service culture under the last couple of postmasters. read more

Very rude employees today. My first time in this post office and all I needed to do was drop off a package that already had postage on it. All other post offices i've been to have a drop off bin somewhere in the lobby. I didn't see one and asked the many people in line who didn't know either and suggested I poke my head in the door where the postage counter was and ask real quick. I did and before I could even get my question out, both men behind the counter yelled at me that only 2 people are allowed in at a time. I wasn't going in, I just opened the door a crack to ask a question and they still raised their voices and spoke over me. So I spoke up thinking they didn't hear me thru my mask - asked if there was a drop off bin for packages that already had postage on them. The older guy on the right got mad and snapped that they weren't Oak Harbor and didn't have a drop off bin! So I said ok & closed the door. The people waiting in line to go in looked shocked at how rude the guys had been. I wasn't going to wait a half hour in that line to drop off a package that already had postage on it, especially since they had been so rude. So I drove all the way up to Oak Harbor to drop off in their lobby drop off bin. Sad that this is my first expierence with the Coupeville Post Office. Won't recommend & won't be going back. read more

So, WE a message at 4:42 that the PO Carrier attempted but could not deliver Amazon packages to our house. My driveway is clear, not an obstacle of any kind in sight. My garage doors are OPEN, the 2 of us have been home all day. Our Travel Trailer is parked on the garage pad, lights on and we are going in and out of it ALL DAY LONG...there is not a Snowballs Chance in Heck that ANY ATTEMPT at Delivery was made. This is in follow up to the 8 days that NO MAIL or PACKAGES of ANY KIND were delivered during the recent snow by the Coupeville PO - despite the main roads ALL being clear. When I called, I was told that the PO vehicles were 30 years old and that Employee Safety was more important than our Amazon Packages. My response, if you take a contract to DELIVER, make sure that you can EXECUTE IT-otherwise DON'T! read more

I've only had to contact this post office twice. The first time a package was scanned but never delivered to me. I called and they found it and put it on the truck to be delivered. The lady I spoke to was so kind and very helpful. Now I sent a package out recently and it was NEVER scanned. The day it should've been delivered I called the post office to see if maybe it got lost or mixed up there. I spoke to this man with the WORST attitude ever! He talked to me like I had no idea how to postal services worked. He talked down to me and kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain something. I've been selling and buying online for MANY MANY years but in California not Washington, I miss my kind and very helpful usps in Californian. Maybe I just expect to much from them here in Coupeville. Lol its not their job or anything lol. read more

Worst service from the postmaster. Very rude and won't fix our delivery issue. He kept promising to fix our problem but never even tried. I dont trust the diver either. Had good relations for years until recently. Ended up getting a p.o. box and even then, some things get returned to sender as undeliverable. Postmaster needs to be replaced with someone who gives a damn and is at least half pleasant. read more
