WSPO is in one of the rougher sections of Grant St., and the post office is one of the few places people still seem to bring cash, so there you go. That said, having a post office a few blocks away (we have a locked door on the street, so our carrier wisely will not leave packages) is hugely convenient, there's seldom a long line, there's usually parking, and the employees are gruff, helpful, and funny in a perfectly Grant Street kind of way. They're even working with us to get our carrier a key so we don't always have to pick things up.

(Also, I still use the old fashioned "snail mail" more than most.) So today I went to this office, its listed on the usps.com website as having Buffalo's philatelic window. Usually that means they have stamps some of the others wont have. Especially "non forever" stamps, so those with postage that's not 46 cents. This one is next to the Broadway Market, so made for another easy errand run there too. It has a HUGE parking lot, which was almost empty. Got to love that. Although I'm sure on Sat its full with Broadway Market visitors. This looks like a smaller office from the outside, and it is. Two windows. It does not have full day hours, only 9-1:30 M-F and 8:30-12 Sat. The counter person who helped me was great. She was not aware her site was listed as the Philatelic one, but she did have some stamps other locations have not had. She did say she was new to that location. So this is not a PO that's super close to me, but if you are looking for someplace without long lines, easy parking, polite help, and you have a reason to be in that area, I would go here without hesitation.

This is the main post office I go to. It's 2nd best out of…read morethe 3-4 that I hit up some times. This location (Hertel Avenue) is usually very slow. The employees work as if there's no one in back of the customer,even though the line is almost to the door. Sometimes you'll get a really nice worker who really helps you out & tries to give you advice on how to send something the cheapest way,the fastest way & figure help you out totals of a package,when figuring out how much everything is worth inside the box you're shipping. Others are just rude af ,and make u reopen things,go through it,take crap out & they are just simply bastards. The guy I had today was straight out of "Woodstock" ,listening to some whacky music that does not suit a post office at all. He acted like he was on acid,or just as high as a kite. It's a smaller UPS store, so if you're looking for a variety of packaging supplies, this may not be the right UPS store. They also have mailboxes on the right side, but honestly I think it's not an efficient use of space since it takes up about half the store. It was also a bit stuffy when we went in... may have been because it was earlier in the day, but still wish it felt a bit more pleasant.
