Colonoscopies. Paying taxes. Root canals. Going to the post office. All things we have to do in life, along the lines of dying and paying taxes. This place is a horror. It's a very tiny space compared to other post office showrooms in the area. Lines linger for hours on end sometimes, with indifferent bureaucrats getting their rocks off watching the helpless masses on the other side of the glass struggle to be served and move on with our lives. Interestingly, most who work are are Chinese, and English is not their primary language. These green newcomers seem to primarily care about helping their own kind, who come to the post office with sacks and sacks of parcels being shipped all over the world for various enterprises of dubious legality. These massive dropoffs result in the lines meandering around the corner sometimes, and are really unfair to those of us who are just there to pick up our packages. Furthermore, you hear every tongue other than English being spoken here, adding to the frustration. I've discovered that the mailmen are generally apathetic and lazy, and rather than bother to, G-d forbid, knock on your door or ring your bell, they'd rather just take the more convenient way out for themselves and leave a pink slip. You have to wake up early on your only day off in order to brave the hoarding masses here to just get your darn package, and when you survive to tell the tale, you rue the day you have to return to this hellhole. This has to be one of the worst post offices I have ever been to. I am always having problems with package delivery - attempted, but no notice left in my mailbox, or attempted, but no one was home when there was someone home and the buzzer was never rang. There's always some excuse given rather than doing your job. Multiple times my package is always stated as delivered, but never to be found. Why is my package being delivered to someone else to hold when I do not authorize anyone to receive my package. If that's the case, leave me a notice, and I rather wait in the dreadful line knowing my package will leave in my hands. Right now, I am dealing with this situation. My package was delivered yesterday... to who? Sure wasn't me! Other times the postal carrier loves to jam the package into the tiny mailbox giving me a ridiculous hard time to get it out, which happened yesterday. The lines are usually long, but sometimes it isn't too bad. Only one time I had a rude worker, and it was the Asian lady. She wouldn't release a package to me for my fiancé, when we had the same address and no need for a signature. She's very rude, and disrespectful. Calling this place is a joke, but that's all post office locations. You can never get a person. The line rings nonstop, and it would take a million calls before someone even answers. For someone who can't get to the post office during normal hours, it would be nice for someone to answer the phone. The only saving grace for this location is their supervisor, Ms. Rivera. She is a very sweet lady who works very hard. I have dealt with her a few times, and she has helped me with my problems. read more

This is my designated post office for my home, so I have no choice but to grin and bear their horrible service. The Asian woman who works there is absolutely horrible!!!! I patiently waited in line for 30 minutes with just 4 people in front of me. When I got to the window to check on a MISSED DELIVERY notice she sucked her teeth and said she's too busy right so I'll have to wait. Wait for what? Until she's free. She then proceeded to take the next person. After a few customers have passed she said she's still busy . Uh, am i just suppose to wait indefinitely? When I went up to her after waiting 15 minutes, she curtly told me to go the window 5. Uh, there's no window 5. I had to speak to the manager after waiting a total of 45 minutes. Hate this post office but I have no choice but to come here since it's my local post office. The lines are ridiculously long and they never answer the phone. I request for pick up from my porch and they never came. I filed a complaint and for them to come the next day. The next day they marked the package as "picked up" when the package was still on my porch !!!! I would give them zero stars if I could. The worst PO in the USA!! I have returned packages from sellers with tracking numbers. It gets scanned and then it disappears. It never leaves the post office. This has happened numerous times. Someone is stealing. Another thing, when I order something online, I get a tracking number. Sometimes it will say it was delivered when in fact, it never was. It was stolen because they leave the package on the ground in the lobby of an 82 family apt bldg. Years ago we had a dedicated postal worker who would come to your door and give you the package. Not any more. OK, here is another situation. I tracked a package and it was never delivered. It showed it was at the Bath Beach PO. I waited and waited. I finally went there. I went to a window and showed them a printout that the package is in the PO. The person went to the back and 1 minute later came back and said its not there. I wanted to speak to the supervisor and make a written complaint. After a very long wait I spoke to the supervisor. GUESS WHAT??!! She found my package in the back. No explanation as to why no attempt to deliver and I told her about her worker who said my package was not there.. Lazy, liars and thieves. Thats a Federal offense. I hope whoever is stealing gets caught. read more

This is my local post office... Its a Terrible post office. Always leave the packages in my hallway without attempting to come to my door extremely lazy and because of there laziness I had multiple packages stolen!!!! No help from them what so ever.. Very rude and alot of them dont even speak english... I will be making a complaint with bbb.. There has to be away to stop this, they get paid good money but are not doing there job right.. WORST SERVICE EVER. They said the attempted delivery and left a notice, but there was no notice at all. They didn't even bother to step out of their car to deliver mails... I scheduled for a redelivery online, they did not come. I called 1800ASKUPS, noone was picking up the call until like 30 mins later. They said the package is still sitting at that fucking post office. They said they would deliver on the next day ( which is today). I still have not received my mail, and have tried to call the local post office so many times, apparently, noone answers the phone at post office. If i can give zero stars i would. The workers here do not give a shit. Everyone is behind a glass window talking down to customers. My treatment was okay but the poor russian lady was trying to pickup up her package and got confirmation from the manager that the package was at this location already, the window attendant asked her how she knew the package was here and then proceeds to say i dont care what the manager said, youre talking to me now. Mind you this was a chinese women at the window. and the african guy next to her was laughing. This is one of the worst post office location i've ever been to but its by my house. Customer service is non-existent. Let me highly suggest you go online and do a redelivery. I have plenty of times to avoid this place. I much rather visit other branches (SLIGHTLY better) than to come to this particular one. Don't expect the manager to take you serious neither, it won't make your visit any better. They definitely need new staff as all the current ones appear to be burnt out as they treat and do very little to address the needs of non-english speakers. read more

This has to be the worst post office in New York. The only way to help this place is to hire new workers because they currently have the rudest, most miserable women working there. I have never had so many issues when I had to mail a package. I will never go back to this post office, I would rather travel out of my way to save myself the aggravation. the mail delivery on 16th ave between bath and crospsey avenue is terrible..can't understand why sometimes they deliver the mail at 7pm..yes at 7pm...some of the carriers (which they change) all of the time are good...the others..forget it....constantly delivering to the wrong address or not delivering at all..one guy last week was having difficulty looking at the addresses of the houses...he was constantly walking back and forth to redeliver..unbelievable...still waiting on 2 credit card bills and a water bill...praying that i get them..probably delivered to the wrong house and were thrown out... read more

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. This place is HORRIBLE. The mail carriers refuse to deliver packages and leave them at this horrible, horrible excuse for a "service" station (yes, actually refuse...leave notices without ringing the doorbell kind of refuse...that is if you're lucky to get a notice at all). In fact, I'm getting ready to fight yet ANOTHER battle with them as Amazon states that they've marked a USPS package I ordered online as "Delivered", yet, it was not (nothing unusual for this place!). Last year around the holidays, They refused to deliver a package, and after many, many phone calls, I had to go stand in line for over an hour to be rudely redirected to another line (the girl actually said to me "you're on the WRONG line, you need to stand in THAT one" then pointed to a line at the other end of the office. Don't even think she looked at me to be honest. I was pretty pissed, so I left and called AGAIN (half the time when you call, you get a busy signal,so granted, when I say call, I mean at least an hour of my day dialing and redialing, trying to get something other than a busy signal or a constant ring that results in what sounds like a fax machine picking up. Pretty confident they just leave the phone off the hook most of the day and don't bother to answer for another quarter of the day. Consistency is key here). When I finally got through, I had to to argue with the girl on the phone, insist on speaking with a manager, and scream at the top of my lungs to get them to deliver a package I'd been waiting for for over a month. I've actually considered moving out of the area BECAUSE of the mail service here. They are that AWEFUL!!! read more

Too bad there is no "0" rating. The manager is useless, she would not respond to your call while she is waiting for her lunch delivery. Their tracker drops packages in the hallway, making them available for everyone to be stolen. I am not getting pink slips for most of my packages, not even a first one. My mail is usually gets delivered to someone else and gets lost, it's a normal practice. They don't care about "fragile" items and would drop them ruffly right in front of you. Recently my insured package was smashed by this post office, however they refused to pay insurance making me lose almost a $1000.00. Chinese tellers would keep never ending conversations with Chinese customers while the line keeps waiting for hours. It needs a new management to alert the workers badly. read more

I've been living in this area for almost 6 years now and have continually used this post office. like almost any post office, there will be a wait and there will be a line so you cannot really complain about that. I will complain that (depending on who is working) they won't even bother ringing my bell or leaving a pink slip sometimes which irritates me to no end. They will still allow you to pick up a package without a pink slip, but that is not the point here. Anyway, when I was frequenting this post office more often a few years ago there was this FANTASTIC black man who worked the package pick up window. Unfortunately, he is no longer there and I do not recall his name, but he always made my experience a smooth-going and satisfying one. I'm writing this review while I've been waiting on line here for over a half hour. While all the workers are nice this post office is poorly run. It 9:15 am they only have one window open with a huge line. They also have the worst delivery people ever. Every time I have a package ships to me I have some type of isssue. I once had to drive around looking for USPS truck who did not ring my bell to deliever the package. I was waiting home all day and got a notice left on my door. This post office is atrocious. The same thing happened to me as a few other posters. I was to have packages delivered to my home last Wednesday. The delivery person refused to leave it with my neighbor, which btw they have left packages out in the dirt, out without anyone around before, but somehow decided my neighbor wasn't safe to leave my packages with. Left me a redelivery notice, which I rescheduled for Friday. Friday came and went. Spent 43 minutes on hold Friday night to reschedule delivery again for Saturday, the lady on the phone (the 800 # since you can't get thru to the actual post office location) was very nice but had no explanation on why my packages weren't redelivered on Friday, the redelivery date. Saturday came and went NO packages. No tracking info. This is the SECOND time this has happened to me, where I am not home and schedule redelivery and my packages just magically go missing. I tried to call to start a case on my missing packages and was told on the 800 # that I have a 2.5 hr WAIT to speak to someone, since I am at work and actually have to be accountable for my actions I am unable to wait to speak to someone that long. I am disgusted this is how a business is run. I don't know if the people here are lazy or thieves or both but this is unacceptable. read more

I give only 2-Stars because of the amount of time I was greeted by a courteous employee...like they just got paid! OTHER THAN THAT, this Bath Beach Post Office, which was once the pride of our neighborhood, has gone down the pits! Their Carriers are constantly being shifted, which create a problems with packages often being mixed; misplaced; lost and even NEVER DELIVERED even though they claim to be delivered!!! The constant switch to 'new Supervisors' too is a joke and disrespect to our United States Mailing System because they permit and consent to the workers' gangster-thug performance; In addition, our Bath Beach Post Office in Bensonhurst Brooklyn (11214) has us waiting long lines; questionable/nefarious employees; the highest rate of "missing packages"; untidy locale with absolutely NO air condition or fresh air circulating the place! It is 1:26 on a Saturday afternoon, and I'm still here waiting for picking up my package. I never had a yelp app before, but I just downloaded. I am wondering why yelp doesn't have a zero star rating option. I was the 26th person in the line of waiting to pick up. It's just a nightmare! Every time when I had to do the pick up on Saturday, the line would definitely be horribly long. Obviously, the manager here doesn't care to read the yelp reviews,since they never add more employees to help with the pick up on Saturday, which is the only day for the working people to come over and pick up. The employees who work here don't seem to care or love their jobs. They seem to be stuck in here, by punishment. No one ever smiles. Everyone walks slowly as a turtle. When they talk to you, it seems that there might be sticky gums between their lips. Most of them type the keyboard with one finger only! My lord! If they don't care about this job, why don't they let others do it? There are a lot of people on the street who need a decent job! This is the worst post office I have ever been! Before I start let me say that I am highly upset. I live in an apartment building. The landlord was nice enough to begin renovations on the hallway and as part of the process was installing a new mailbox. As the new mailbox is not of the same dimensions he had to do some plaster-work on the wall. He left a notice in English, Spanish, and Chinese (the languages of the various tenants) that the new mailbox would soon be installed and apologized for the delay. Fine. When I returned home from work yesterday the mail for the building was tossed all over the hallway. The mail-person came in with the mail (note the outer door to the building is not secure) and seeing no safe place to put the mail, decided to just leave it all on the floor. This includes everyone's Con-Edison bills, Credit card bills, and personal mail. Needless to say we were all very upset. In this world where identity theft is a major concern you would think that anyone with any intelligence would follow the Post Office rules and return the mail to the station rather than be stupid enough to do this. The post office is crying for cash because everyone is resorting to e-mail, texts, and other forms of address that we hope are more secure. With employees like this you can hardly blame them. I tried calling the station but, of course, no one was answering the phones. I have filed a complaint, not that I think for a moment that anything will come of it. This station is a cramped, slow and annoying place. My advice? Get everything done by secure e-mail, rent a PO Box that only you have a key for. Make every effort to avoid this station if you can. I usually use the Post Office where I work on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Completely different world. There the staff is quick, friendly, and knowledgeable with no heavy plastic shielding. I put it 1 star but for real the rating of this post office is minus 10! My sister sent me 5 packages from Israel, 4 of them I got and the last one is still in this post office. I tried to check up what's up and why they didn't bring it to my home, as the price covers 3 times delivery. Twice I rescheduled the delivery, but in vane. After a month of waiting I made it to the office and was shocked - the package is still there and they don't want to bring it to me. I cant do it myself - it's too heave and I don't have a car, so I asked to talk to the manager. He talked to me like I was a peace of sheet, when I asked why my package is still here only laughed me in face and told: " Complain if you want, do whatever you want. I told him that I don't want to make a problem I only want to get my stuff to my place/ He refused to give his name, but promised that I would get it the other day, but after 2 days nobody showed up, and finally I had to go there and carry my package myself because they could simply throw it away. I'm sure that any complain to this post office its vast of time, nobody there will never be punished. Maybe he is an antisemitic, because the package was sent from Israel. Horrible place, horrible service, rude black supervisor that hates white people and behave himself as a King, he's sure that now days all the power on his side and nobody could make him troubles and he will never ever lose his job. I will never give this post office on Benson ave even 1 star. I've NEVER get any package or certified letter from this office. Moreover. Several times I found a notice "sorry. We missed you" even then I stayed at home. And with this notice went to the post office, but... Each time they LOST my mail! I asked to make investigation and waited for weeks... For example, I never got checks I had ordered from my bank and went to the bank asking for new ones. Then I picked up checks from the bank by myself. I didn't get school uniform for my girl and had to order uniform again, but used the address of my friends. Week ago I got a pink notice about certified mail in my post box. The other day I came to the post office and... they didn't find a letter. They promised me to search for it, but never called me back. Then I called again and they promised me to search again. I'm still waiting for their call, but I'm sure that they will never find it and will never even start searching for my certified letter. I hate this BATH BEACH post office and really don't understand what this post office is for? They don't deliver mail. They lose packages and letters. Our post man always brings mail ONLY between 6 and 7 pm. and confuses mail putting letters to the wrong boxes. People working there are always angry and the manager is awful, you will never get any help from him. So, I suggest to all who live close to this location try to give somebodies address instead of Bath Beach PO when you order something or waiting for a package from your friends.
