This USPS station is horrible, they also say the package has been delivered or left at mail room. In my case This building is not open on weekends its a School and there is no mail room on this site. They have lost several packages of mine with no reimbursement. when you file a claim it seems to go nowhere wow i will be using Amazon or FedEx or UPS for now on. This post office is truly an exception from the rest of USPS in the United States. I have been there three times and each time received consistent great service. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. Each visit took less than 10 minutes, which is utterly unthinkable for USPS services. read more

Very disrespectful and unprofessional and dishonest staff working behind the counter. Especially the head of Customer Service Andre Berry. I have had several encounters all with the same individual I ordered a package from Revolve clothing of RAF Simon's Adidas and it was delivered and tracked by UPS next day air to the post office and a ticket was left IN MY PO BOX, not ON THE STREET! And when I picked up my package from this post Offices possession it was a pair of cheap men's moccasins purchased from an off brand store that Revolve doesn't even sell! I have contacted all parties involved and all seemed apologetic and eager to get to the bottom of the situation EXCEPT FOR ANDRE BERRY! Who was RUDE! CONDESCENDING! DISRESPECTFUL! And also threatened to have me thrown out of the post office after I was assaulted by a staff member Esther with a door in front of my son. You all are sad and unprofessional! I came here to mail off an important letter. They have a manager walking the floor asking everyone on line what they need. I explained to him what I needed. He told me to stand in line to get it from the teller. I stood on the long @$$ line for the teller to tell me I needed to take some of the paperwork from one of the islands, fill it out and get back on line to mail it. Really?????? read more

The film opens with a man dialing a phone number to his local post office to inquire about some missing packages and 'failed delivery attempts'. On the other end we hear the sound of ringing. I had to update my passport and I strolled in here at 9 AM. BAM, I was done by like 9:30. There were a couple of lovely people in front of me. They were all amazing at 9am in the morning. I dedicate this to the teller who helped me out because she was wonderful. read more

This has got to be the worst post office. Don't even think about dropping off regular 1st class mail here expecting it to get delivered. It won't happen. The mail just mysteriously disappears. I even spoke with a postal employee who lives in this neighborhood and works at the Church St. station in Manhattan and that person had the same problem with invitations that they recently dropped off here. read more

This review is about a specific experience I had at the post office tonight that was 5 stars. I have had my share of post office horror stories and encounters with surly, unhelpful employees, particularly at the Red Hook post office. So, tonight, when I was treated with kindness by a helpful, eager employee, I immediately looked up the Cadman Plaza post office's email address (and found none), so I could let her supervisor know. This review will have to suffice in lieu of an email. I hope someone who works at the post office reads it. I was using the self-service machines to mail two packages. For one of them, I accidentally put it in the mail chute before I put the postage sticker on. I frantically walked into the main part of the post office, since it was still open (thankfully), and found one of its famously long lines. There was one worker walking around helping people who had questions. I stopped her to tell her what I had just done and asked if she could help. She was completely sweet in response and said, "Don't worry. You are definitely not the first person to do that." She got her keys and went to retrieve the package for me. When I opened the wrong door to get back to the self-service area, she even said "I do that all the time too." She presented my package quickly and with a smile and then headed back to her post, but not before she helped a man struggling with the self-service machine. Once again, she did so with a smile and zero judgment. I don't who this angel is; I just know that her last name is Gomez because she noted that we shared the same name. I hope somebody knows who I am talking about and gives this woman a raise. We need more people like her working at the post office. read more

This is the crappiest postal service I have ever encountered. I typically receive other peoples mail at my home address at least twice a week. I constantly have to drop stuff back into a mailbox and hope that the intended recipient might some day get their mail I also NEVER receive packages that don't fit in a mail slot. They just leave pink slips, they don't even attempt to deliver packages. I know, I've opened the door as the mail and pink slips come through the mail slot and asked, "what gives??" I've gone online and requested redelivery, only to get another pink slip. I'm home during these times, the doorbell never gets rung. I've been told that if you tip your mail carrier, that you tend to get some packages. But that is illegal, and I refuse to tip crappy service in hopes that it will get better. I tell everyone I know to send packages to me via UPS of FedEx. read more

The women working behind the counter at this location can be rude and confrontational. I know it probably sucks working at the Post Office and dealing with customers all day, but maybe being helpful rather than ill-mannered might make it better for all. read more

What a fiasco. The waiting conditions are inadequate for the main post office in one of the largest cities in the US. There is customer service however they are overwhelmed by the number of people trying to get passports processed for their children. The post office is filthy and in need of a make over. The lady at the window was terrific stressed out but the issue at hand was not of her doing. read more

I came to drop off a prepaid return for some very expensive merchandise that did not fit. That was on May 3, I have a receipt, and the USPS tracking shows that it was "accepted". However, it's been TEN DAYS and there has been no movement on the package since. I don't know what to think at this point. Did someone lose or steal my package? Once a package gets scanned they eventually start moving in the system, so this is highly suspicious. I will never use this post office again and want to caution everybody -- stay away. This is worst post office or business in general I have been to. The employees are rude, and lazy. I came in here today to buy a money order. I understand that things can get hectic which is why I am always pleasant. However this does not make being rude okay. The tellers do not call you when they are ready, rather, they just sit there with their hands folded expecting you to read their minds. This one teller literally sat at his desk motionless for about 4 minutes. Finally someone went to him and asked if he was open and he was really rude about it. When it was my turn my teller failed to give me any pricing and just printed a slip. When I asked if there were other options the response was "I told you the price" folding his arms once more. These employees have no respect for the customers that come into this Post Office. People are treated horribly. They have zero pride in there jobs. Honestly a disgrace to tax payers. Unfortunately they are government employees so nothing will change. I am also a government employee and I don't treat people this way. I try my best to avoid this place if I can. read more

We mailed a package to our son a week ago using regular mail...$26. Logging on to USPS online I entered the tracking number and it said it was 'out for delivery' 3 DAYS AGO...but NEVER delivered. The tracking just stopped cold. Calling the national usps 800 number resulted in some idiot agent telling me what I already knew -- it hasn't been delivered and they don't know where it is. All day today I've been trying to call the Cadman location directly for on-site details but I either get busy signal or when it rings nobody picks up -- it just goes dead. No package, no info. I truly regret shipping USPS instead of Fedex or UPS -- never ever again, especially to the New York area! read more

The only longer line I've waited in for no apparent reason was in the former Soviet Union. At least they gave me bread there. This could be a mock postal office, owned and operated by FedEx or UPS, to get you to never send something by standard U.S. mail again. If so, it has worked. read more

I agree with the previous reviewers who say this is the worst post office in the world. I've gotten better service in third world countries. Apart from agreeing with all the complaints about unhelpful staff, long lines, and no one EVER answering the phone, I have an additional complaint to add. I am trying to ship 27 boxes of books. I scheduled a pickup through the usps website and received a confirmation email. The carrier never showed up. I spent the whole day waiting, and trying to call to make sure he was coming. On the rare occasion that I reached someone (twice, that first missed day), I was assured that he would come, even though they refused to actually check that he had been given the pickup request. Day 2 - called in the morning, finally reached someone, explained the issue. He said he'd have the driver pickup that day, and took down all my contact info. Again, the driver didn't show. Called all afternoon till I finally reached someone again at 3:30 who called the driver for me (finally) and said the driver never got the request. REALLY?!? After 4 requests? And the driver was then clocking out for the day, so again no pick up. I tried to go over their head and called the main 800 usps #, and even their supervisors tried to get involved, but nothing helped. These people do no work at all, they just lie to get you off the phone. And now I'm sitting here with 27 boxes in my apartment, prepaid printed postage to the tune of $400, and an open house tomorrow. Nice. Thanks postal service, for letting me experience what it's like to live in the Soviet Union in 1975. I would warn you all to stay as far away from this vortex of incompetence and sloth as possible, but what choice do we have when we need the mail? UGH. read more

I came to this post office after the disaster of going to the one in Bristol street. I walked in and they had people waiting to process their passport. They give out numbers but they didn't have a machine or a person available so I asked someone and they said go on a line to the left. A man can over and started looking over applications and giving out numbers. He told me her a priority mail envelope where to sign on the application and I mailed it out. There was a nice sister I there I believe she is Muslim as she had hwr head covered who was friendly and helped me her Every thing straight. This will be my go to. I wish I could give a ZERO star review. I had a horrible experience with borderline harassment. I walked in with my service animal and a man by the name of TROY was at the counter. I walked up to counter a bit unsure how to ship internationally. He told me to hold up my package to show him if I had addressed it I had not and he turned me away, I quickly addressed my package and went to counter next to Troys to a lovely woman by the name of ASHLEY who was kind and helpful. Troy has a woman who was claiming that "first we have 9/11 and now we have animals allowed in buildings" also claiming she had a "bag of pills" she didn't want my dog to eat. Meanwhile he was sitting right next to me as a trained service animal. Try proceeded to agree with the customer at his window and said that he agreed with her and wanted us out. I felt so horrified after this experience. So many people are saved daily by their service animals. I will never go to this location again and I hope that this man is spoken to for making someone feel so incredible uncomfortable in the act of simply trying to mail a package. read more

Awful. Of the 14 clerk windows in this post office that serves the busy downtown courts area, only one window is open on a Friday afternoon with many hours to go before they close. I send a ton of mail, and usually am at other post offices. This is the worst. Saturday mornings are similar, but with three clerks working. Boycott this bureaucratic failure. read more

So USPS lost my package, which was a Christmas gift for my nieces in Texas. According to the tracking number, it should have been delivered to Houston by December 21st and today is January 11th and it's still delayed somewhere in San Antonio. I submitted an inquiry online and got a call from my local post office at 271 Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn. When I called back and provided the tracking number, I was advised that the package was delayed, which I already knew. I was not offered an apology or an explanation. They said I could try getting my money back. This is not about the money. USPS failed to render a service and is refusing to take responsibility. The USPS representative at 271 Cadman I was speaking with told me that she did not lose my package and she was unable to contact the center in San Antonio to try to resolve the issue. When I asked her why she was unable to help me, she placed me on a very long hold until I finally hung up. I then called back and when she picked up, I asked to speak to a manager. I was then transferred to his mailbox, which was full, so I was unable to leave a voicemail. Wonder why USPS is having trouble staying afloat.. read more

This place never picks up the phone. They NEVER ever deliver my packages, I must always go to pick up my packages. Just recently I asked for a redelivery on items I ordered. They never sent them. In fact I had to pick them up with three other people, and ended up with bruises as a result of the packages being so heavy. The lines are terribly long...I try to avoid this place as much as I can. My Post Office is actually for the 11217 but I guess Atlantic Avenue's P.O. is so shxtty that they're not even listed. I can't deal with the USPS. I really sometimes believe that laying off the workers may have been the best idea that the government ever had. I had a package coming into me from Amazon. It was shipped out on the 20th of march. It is NOW the 27th day of March and because of USPS, I still do not have my package. Amazon.com had to give me a refund on my shipping because the delivery is so poor. I keep calling the post office and they keep saying "Oh well it's on the truck." Really? You think so? It better be. I didn't pay 210.00 bucks for a new iPod touch for the runaround. Idky people who work for the post office are so effing stupid. This may be the first rage filled review I've given on Yelp. I am so upset. Oh, lol, the best part: They do not knock on my door. I came in at 10am and I was outside by 10:22am. I had a medium size package to mail. The gentleman was very kind and helpful, he was patient when I asked him all my questions. I had a question that he couldn't answer so another worker came and helped me as well. I didnt wait on line, and I was able to send my package using the bin. Overall, I am pleased and happy. Wow lost a package and were incredibly rude about it... As it states on the usps website they tried to deliver fri, I was here all day, no delivery or slip or anything else. Then they say they tried sat, once again no slip. So monday I go to pick it up at the post office and all I get is, nobody tried friday, don't worry it will be delivered today. I say to her, look on the tracking page, it says that the package is here, and that I have to pick it up. She insists that I am wrong in a manner that should be reserved for a jail cell. No delivery. I call the 800 number... They say that as far as they can tell, it has been at the post office and was never out for delivery, that they should have given it to me. They called over there and the 800 supervisor told me that she herself was treated like shit from them. She is writing up the person she spoke with, and made a case for me and my 1500$ package. I still have no package, and from what I can gather they don't know where it is... No wonder the usps is going under. This post office is beyond repair. Burn it down, preferably with a few of it's employes, and start over again... AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! read more

Very bad experiences with the same postal workers at the windows. Tried to get Passport Renewal completed, I was met with a mean, nasty, disrespectful attitude. I understand they cannot give much assistance with renewal of a passport, but the attitude of some of these people is incredible. Went to complain to the manager, he had a non responsive, canned response. There is one really nice window worker that is a pleasure to work with, but I don't always get her and the other workers are ignorant. read more
