For a period of time last year, we did not get daily delivery. Some mail went missing (which may not have been the fault of the local office), and now, delivery still seems erratic. When I had an issue with missing bills and requested to speak to the postmaster, I was told he was not in, but could leave a message and he would contact me. No contact, even after a second request. There was a problem with numerous people not receiving their water bills. While this could have been a distribution problem elsewhere, I'll never know because no one bothered to contact me to find out what the problem was. Short of staff? Budget issues? They say just leave it here and your photo is your receipt. Well, I returned an iPhone to Apple here and stupidly didn't take a photo. Apple never received it and since it was never scanned into the Fedex system, I was out over $800. From now on, smaller items go into the Fedex dropbox a little bit further South down (and on the other side of ) Valley. For larger items, I bite the bullet and go to Kinko's in Clifton. When possible, I ship at the UPS Store. I am not accusing the staff of taking my phone. Someone else could have bene dropping off something, recognized what was in there, and pocketed it. I don't see how Apple can't block the IMEI or serial number as stolen, but they didn't. In any case, I am out $800 because I couldn't prove I dropped it off and until I hear from Fedex that a photograph is sufficient proof or Montclair Shipping Plus changes its policy to "scan when asked," I will not be dropping off anything at this center and I strongly discourage anybody else from doing the same.
