Post Office in GlenRidge , on Ridgewood Ave, lost the parking spots due to excessive emergency curbs, and mostly customers out of town, now 80% of customers. There are 4 parking spots serving Glen Ridge resdents, occupied by East Orange residents .. is there not a post office in East Orange and Orange? Service is ok, but place understaffed. Lived in Glen Ridge for 40 years, things have changed. And yes , as Exmo noted in her review, I have not seen a smiling face at all, female clerk is rigid, other just leukwarm. Although it can be busy due to only a fe employees attending to many customers, The one employee who always helps me with my outgoing packages is the only one i try to deal with. Only because she makes me feel welcomed and notices that i drop off package all the time. The rest can try to smile or say hello once in a while just try it smile with service goes a long way. read more

I received email saying package was delivered at 9pm Monday the 10th. I was home and no package was delivered. Bet their mail guy stole this package. And you never get anyone in the phone. Not the first time a package was said it was delivered and wasn't. Good job for a service that's a federal government job. read more

This place is the WORST!!!! The staff are rude, they don't know how to talk to people. They lose your mail. They NEVER know where my mail. FATIMA is the nastiest person along with the rest of the staff. They laugh at you when you complain and no one does anything about it. You complain and they look at your like you're crazy. Based on reviews, I was hesitant to visit this post office, but I'd like to say I was pleasantly surprised. Today Clerk #19 was very nice and helpful. I had a pre-paid package and also needed to purchase postage stamps and she provided excellent service, which left me with a smile and positive energy. Regularly loses packages. They lost One of three dropped off at the same window on the same date and refuse to resolve the issue.

I had to send a very large package of items to a friend to her home in California. The customer service agent gestured to me to take the package to the door rather than lift it to the window. I was very grateful because I have a bad shoulder and I didn't think it would fit. He provided all of the options and helped me pick the most sensible, cost effective means of sending it and so that it would be insured. Service was quick and helpful. I like the 10 minute parking in the front and the mailboxes there so you can also mail envelopes when you are in a hurry. A good location. read more

So post offices are never excellent, but compared to others, it only has some street parking (which is often full) and a line because there are not a lot of employee windows open and there isn't any self service kiosks that could cut down on lines if you need to do something simple, so you have to wait in the line. For such a big building, I expected it to be more spacious inside, but most the building must be taken up by mail sorting because the line area is pretty small. It's not a terrible location and the employee seemed friendly, but I've been to better locations and between the lack of decent parking and a long line probably because of no self service machine, I would look to other locations. read more

They are very slow here. For a post office that is this big, you would expect that all the windows would be staffed. Instead, I have been standing in line for a good 25 minutes and counting, because one window is busy doing a passport. Like why is this not something totally separate? They have one other employee at the window doing the actual transactions. Another thing is, say you missed a delivery, and you go online (web) to request a redelivery, they won't redeliver. Ah, the Post Office. They never have enough staff. It takes forever to mail a parcel and they don't have the self-mailing machines here. Two windows had passport applicants today, and only one window was handling the postal customers. This is the main post office in a growing town that's soon to become a city, so they really need more people at the window. I gave them two stars just because the guy who helped me was nice. My first time using an American post office, I joined the queue expecting to wait a good hour for service (just like good old England) in seconds I was asked if I was sending my parcels normal priority mail and if how I was Paying, the assistant took my parcels scanned them and took my money. Job done. In and out in less than 10 minutes My only complaint is it was so quick I was halfway home when a friend sent me their address so I couldn't post their parcel right away! Three free 10 minute parking spots out front and you're usually in and out pretty quickly. The line can get long at this place even if you're off by just a few seconds. where do I start!! Please if you can get your things mailed another way, do so. I am 100 percent sure that packages are being stolen by this post office's employees. I had earrings from Nordstrom that never made it. I had a package that cost me $170, never came. They say it was in or around my mailbox. No, it wasn't. At first I thought the packages were maybe taken by neighbors because I live in a building, but then I realized that it was only things shipped by them. Where do I begin... Lol! My family has a paid for p.o. box for almost 30 years and I am getting punished for THAT. I have a lot of packages coming through the Post Office. I am a Amazon prime member that I pay a $100 a year so I can get my packages into days. When Amazon delivers my packages directly I receive them in 2 days. But whenever they transfer them to the United States Postal Service my packages seem to get lost and I do not receive them for like 10 days. 6 months ago I was told said they can no longer hold my packages there if it didn't have the PO Box on the address they would have to be directly shipped to my house instead. I've had no problem with that after all I hate standing on that long line to get my packages I much rather them delivered at my front door. However because of this my packages have frequently been getting lost between mail man and Post Office. They are the ones that wanted to switch the means of the delivery. Now when I complain the one in charge said that whole start putting him back at the PO Box where I get the yellow slip and stand on the long line. Again I have no problem with that period would I do have a problem with however is the length of time it takes them to get me my package. Amazon keeps sending me notices that if I would like to cancel my package because it is taking entirely too long to be delivered to me but I don't wanna cancel it I just want my packages. I am paying and lot of money to get my packages in a timely fashion I am paying $100 with prime from Amazon. And I'm paying for a PO Box whatever they charge per year. Is getting my packages on twine too much to ask for? If I didn't get APO Box and pay for that and I wasn't a point member and Amazon I think I would get my packages faster. When I go to the Post Office Hey can't give me an answer on where my packages are they seem to be lost and then mysteriously found after 7 to 10 days and this is happen many of times. You really gotta hand it to the Bloomfield Post Office. No less than 4 times in 6 months - small packages (with worth in each one that totals $50 plus) out for delivery scanned delivered but they weren't delivered to MY HOUSE. When it is not one of the 2 regular mail delivery people (who actually are very good and faithfully either put a package inside the mailbox or leave it in the corner under the doorway - not to mention they deliver the mail in a timely manner by Noon or 1 P.M.), the substitutes for the route deliver mail in the dark at almost 8 at night (or later) and you get other people's mail and they get yours. I personally bring the mail to who it belongs to where I live but do you really think some people getting packages with electronics, etc in it are going to return the same favor? That is IF anyone got it all. it's not far fetched when something like this happens so frequently that the packages are being stolen. When you open a case they send you an email and you don't hear back. You can call back several days later and they can't be bothered - they say I have to talk to the mailman and you never hear back from them. In my own personal profession, if and when I make a huge mistake - there are repercussions. You can clearly realize there is no repercussions for the sloppy horrible job that some of those employees do and there absolutely should be or it will continue on as it has been with no change. read more

I received a text from the Bloomfield postal office saying a package I have been expecting from China was delivered. I checked within 15 minutes of receiving the text and it was not delivered. I have called the Bloomfield postal office three days in a row, spoke to 3 employees who say nothing as to what happened to the package and only say they are going to call me back which they do not. Last person, the supervisor Adrianne, promised she was going to call me back and did not. I saw other comments here saying lost packages is the norm at this post office. What is going on at this post office? I have never experienced such mystery about a package saying it was delivered when it was not and then the personnel at the post office act as if they are covering something. I've been a customer of this establishment for years now and I've been pleased.. but going on 2 weeks now I've been in and out of the Bloomfield nj P.O. tring to get a package that they (lost/gave away). Basically an item Ive been waiting on was delivered to the post office(according to the tracking number) on a Monday..so I show up on Tuesday to pick it up.. much to my surprise they couldn't find it.. BUT WAIT here's more. Usually if an item is delivered they put a yellow card in your box which wasn't in mine.. but the guy who found it asks..(you didn't pick it up?) I said the person who it was wasn't me. Basically saying it was delivered there but someone who worked half ass gave my item away FREE to another person.. So I've been back and forth with this post office and I don't think its going to get resolved.. Obviously the person never checked for I.D. properly.. They really let me down..
