Wow this place is terribly slow. What should have been 5 minutes was 20. Sammy was working taking his time. He had a line of 8 people. Some guy walked in and Sammy pointed to the side. They guy walked outside and Sammy disappeared for 10 minutes while there was a long line. The other younger kid let a woman cut online because she was there earlier. But it's not like she was in store she came from outside. Then Sammy's had the nerve to ask why I left a a middle (not sad or smiling) face on their little review tablet. Gave me attitude about it l. This Post Office is the worst I have ever seen! They never answer the phone. NEVER! The letter carrier makes NO attempt to deliver the mail into the correct letter box on a simple 4 family house despite there being 4 boxes side by side on the front porch. It all gets stuffed into one box, or just dumped into a basket on the porch. read more

Thank you for being open at 730am before any other post office in the area so that I could mail stuff before going to work. This is why you get a nice review from me. Never came here in the afternoon so can't speak regarding that situation. Mornings (about 8am) were peaceful enough. Staff was nice. Post office itself was well kept and pretty roomy (then again I didn't see it crowded which I am sure it gets at some point). I did have a PO Box here and that was also a breeze. read more

After living in town for 7 years, we FINALLY got a mail man that gets our mail to us on a regular basis in one piece. Over the past years, we've constantly gotten mail for a lady Nancy on McKinley St (on the other side of town) and a few others up until we got a new mail man. And lets not forget the envelopes that we use to receive torn, battered and destroyed - with no note of apology - so it was done in town. Thank Goodness for him - he is worthy of FOUR stars. Seriously, it was to the point where I wrote complaints to the USPS customer service department. And the Post Office itself might be kept up in good condition, but the service you receive from the clerks are far from tolerable. I will go out of my way to East Rutherford any day before mailing packages from Nutley. They are rude and not consumer friendly. And I agree with Scott, the patrons that go there are more likely to push you/run you over before they let you enter that building - TWO stars. read more

Waaaay better.. find the perfect time to go and it's smooth sailing. No weird customers, no abnormal questions, no angry customers and it's great. The post man is super nice and came outside to give me a sheet I forgot on the desk. I went during all times in the day, and I have dealt with customers that ask really crazy questions then get angry when they don't get the answer they want. Lol. I'm going to review the Nutley Post Office for my 100th review. Before that internal dialogue in your head even kicks off, yes, I know it's boring and utilitarian topic for the century review. I should have been saving my secret watering hole or the craziest club on Earth for this one. Well, married with two kids means your secret watering hole becomes a Post Office where you spend about two minutes inside, easily the most efficient service I've ever enjoyed anywhere, for anything: clubs, bars, restaurants, any store, any shop, this Post Office is actually an amazing experience. It's a classic turn-of-century building, with real WPA murals on the walls still clear as the day they were commissioned. One is dedicated to Nutley resident Annie Oakley, if you can believe that. There is no panoply of postal items, cardboard standups, profusion of supplies. You don't come here to browse, you come here to mail something. If you can, wait for the Post Office worker named Quinh if possible. You will be in and out in two minutes, even if you have a large package with tape hanging off and you can't decide if it's going 5-day Postal or 2-Day Expedited. It all just sort of coalesces into existence, and you're on the street with your package shipped before you know it. They move a line of eight people in ten minutes, flat. At some of the Clifton Post Offices, eight people equals twenty minutes. I had both kids with me one Saturday, four people ahead of me, and I was done before the kids even got comfortable enough to leave my side. Anyone with kids knows this a secret watering hole extravaganza. It's hit or miss, the line can get long and take a long time. The people at the window can be nasty and seem to hate working here. However I've been happy with a couple of the people that work here because they are very helpful and always seem to have a smile. I guess it depends on who is at the window to help. They have parking and are open at 7:30am if you want to stop by before work. read more

Helpful with sending the right postage on packages. I almost overpaid for a service I didn't need and was able to save some money due to helpful suggestions from the ladies at the window. It was insanely packed (since it's the holiday season), so the small parking lot was full. However, the line moved pretty quickly. read more

Phone just rings and and obnoxious beep. No one EVER answers the phone?!?? Theyve had a package of mine for OVER a week that was sent to them from the UK. Nutley NJ post office is a joke! Only 6 parking spaces available. Lines are so long. One time I went there early (2 minutes before opening) to get an envelope that contained an Rx for a bone marrow donation and they didn't want to let me in! I needed to get to the doctors office right away for this test. The mail service is horrible. I paid to have my mail forwarded, and it's not being forwarded...they NEVER answer the phone! read more

Awful. In all my life I have never had trouble receiving mail...until now. They never answer the phone and when a package goes missing you need to call another number for Carrier delivery...and they never answer the phone. I tried at least 12 times this morning and let it ring at least a dozen times and no one answers. No mail on Saturdays since last weekend unless they forgot our areas in Nutley near Bellville NJ. Calling them is like trying to talk to a wall. They would pick up and hang up or just not bothering answering any calls. 525 Main St. Belleville NJ is by far the worst place to ever try to call or talk. It was Saturday and I thought that the post office closed at 12. I was rushing thinking that I only had a good 5 or 10 minutes to make it. Luckily, when I got to the door I saw that it closed at 3 pm, so I was relieved. There were already a good bit of people there but the workers were working at a good rate were I did not have to wait long. The lady that I went to was very nice and patient. She told me that I would have to send my package priority because it weighed to much. She did not rush me when I had to fill out the address information. She asked if I needed stamps or anything else and the told me to have a nice day. My trip there went very smoothly. read more

Worst post office ever. I don't mean the place or location. But one specific person that works there. The Asian lady that works on March 15, 3:00pm. I ship priority mails everyday. All I do is print labels online so I don't wait in line and occupy a spot in the line since they are always packed. So all I need to do is drop off the package with the prepaid labels sticked. But that stupid lady don't let me drop off and tell me to wait in line. The purpose of online service is to avoid the line and better efficiency. That stupid lady is crazy. If I ask for a supervisor they would happy to let me drop off the package. But no supervisor was there at that time. I drop off packages at almost every post office location. WORST post office ever!! More like LOST office. They keep sending my packages back and forth from Rutherford to here. It spends almost 48 hours doing that before it comes to me in Lyndhurst. I never thought I would be one to leave such bad review, but this postal office deserves nothing but. The clerks are just plain and simple not willing to help and they just refer you back to the website or 800 USPS line. I explained to them that after trying to get a live person on the phone for days, I had no choice but to come to them for help. The USPS lost my package, and no matter how many emails and claims I sent through their website, nobody knows where it is. I was advised to go to my postal office and find out the Consumer Affairs contact number for my area. Well, they either don't know it or just didn't want to give the number to me. Service as 'shoddy' as it's appearance. I sent a small manila envelope from Maple Shade, NJ up to a relative on Satterwaith Ave in Nutley early Monday a.m. I had a tracking number but was told that the "merry mailman/person" who delivers on Satterwaith Ave. couldn't find a SECURE location to leave said envelope. "Try the mailbox - ya think". It was 1/2 the size of the mailbox. So,he leaves a "card" for the man (in his 90s) to drive up to this dilapidated old building and wait in line for something that should have been put in the mailbox. I left a phone # - nada! I, too I called Nutley P.O. "numerous" times - NOBODY picked up. I emailed USPS....good luck with them. They charged me $6.83 to f..... this up. Horrific! Ugh. I've been in this town six plus years and never had a good experience with this place. The customer service reps are rude when you are there in person and they never answer the phone if you try calling. Most recently, I purchased a $10 Item on Amazon that the seller chose to deliver through USPS. The package does not require a signature. Rather than deliver the item, they "attempted delivery" and told me to pick it up myself within 15 days. Unfortunately, I will be traveling for those 15 days and won't be able to stop by considering their working hours conflict with mine. Plus, for some reason my address "does not permit scheduling redelivery online," so I can't even give them the special instructions that ask them to just deliver the package. The post office itself service-wise is horrendous. The staff is rude, slow, and non friendly EVERY time I have been there. They make no effort to work faster when the line is long. I will drive to Lyndhurst PO before going here anymore. On the other hand my mail carrier is awesome. I try to avoid letting my dogs in the yard if he hasn't come yet. He has learned to shake the gate to see if they come running before he comes all the way in. One dog wants to play, the other not so much. This is the third package that I have not received through this postal center in a few months time. My daughter just sent me a bracelet for my 50th birthday and I did not receive it, I am so disappointed I could cry. The week prior I did not receive another package, that was supposed to be delivered, again on a Thursday. I guess Thursday's are not good for deliveries. USPS reroutes it through the mail center sometimes, as I have learned, so good luck trying to receive your package. read more

I asked my daughter to take a package to the Nutley Post office to be mailed with prepaid postage and have the package insured for $200. She said she stood in a very long line. When it was her turn the woman behind the counter rambled something off, told her she could not insure the package and said "NEXT". I believe that someone like that should not be in customer service. The post office was staffed by a girl who had quite an attitude. So did the supervisor. I asked for a letter to be date stamped, something every post office I've asked in the past has done. Today she throws the letter in a bin and says it will be stamped later that evening. I said I needed to see it stamped since it was a tax payment. She wouldn't do it. How lazy! I asked to see the supervisor and she refused. No wonder this business is bankrupt. It's operated and run by people who do not know how to be nice to customers. At least these 2 people.
