Tried to mail a package to my parents at the address they have had for thirty years. I have sent many packages there before. The clerk insisted the address did not exist in their system and that there was no way to mail it. I explained that I was certain the address was correct and suggested trying to put it in again, but the clerk was not interested in helping. I went to another post office and they had no issues with the address and were able to easily mail it. I have to admit, my expectations were met as soon as I walked through the door and was greeted by a surly woman in an ill-fitting postal shirt and sweatpants. Verbal communication - let alone a smile - was a bridge-too-far for this conveyor of Christmas cheer. Alas, I did not saunter in for holiday tidings; rather, I came for a package. Nevermind, that we scheduled delivery of said package over 3 weeks earlier, received 2 confirmation emails confirming delivery, but never received 1 undelivered package - today I was going to get to the bottom of this perplexing puzzling postal predicament. Errr... not so fast. Miss sassy (sweat) pants wasn't in the mood for communicating. After finally axing for my drivers license she disappeared into the back room and emerged several minutes later with my long lost package. After having to sign a few docs, I departed. Or, more succinctly, this place is unprofessional. Workers are rude and seem put out that they have to help you. Oh well... you get what you pay for ($.49) read more

If I could give the Roland Park branch zero stars, I would. This past Saturday I went to this branch to buy a book of stamps. You would think this would be a very easy tasking. Oh contrare! The clerk advised me that she could not sell me a book of stamps. I imagine this would be akin to the Starbucks being unable to serve its customers coffee. Thinking that perhaps the fact that it was a Saturday, played into the inability to sell the stamps, I returned Wednesday to again buy a book of stamps. The same clerk told me that she could not sell me stamps, and curtly suggested that I go to the Hamden branch. Is it any wonder that the postal service is wallowing in debt, given that type of preposterous response? Just sad and reprehensible. If the post office is unwilling, or unable to sell stamps, at the very least there should be a vending machine to act in their stead. read more

I couldn't believe how rude the woman clerk I encountered here was. Even more disturbing were the additional bad reviews on yelp regarding the service here... Why would the Postal Service keep such horribly rude people? (Especially With more than just a couple bad reviews) I print my own postage so I never have to wait in line and I had my package ready to go. Also it weighed fewer than 13 ounces. When I walked in, I realized the inside door was open and there were no customers within. I entered and started to give the woman at the desk my package. She told me the post office was CLOSED!!. I told her I would then put my small package into slot outside. At that, she angrily and loudly snapped at me to "give her the package"! She nastily grabbed it out of my hand. I just hoped The items I was sending were still in one piece! I'll never return to this post office! I will also report her to a supervisor. read more

Upscale neighborhoods also have upscale post offices. Who knew? The Roland Park USPS, located just off of Roland Ave near to the public library, the elementary school, and a cute little shopping section with an Eddie's grocery, a Tuxedo pharmacy, and at least one children's book/toy store, is pretty much the embodiment of a small-town post office in the heart of leafy, comfortably middle-class North Baltimore. It's an intimate, even cramped, space, but no one seems to mind. They are in Roland Park, after all! People smile, wait patiently in line, chat on cell phones, exchange friendly banter with the staff, and generally seem to enjoy their visit. Parking in the nearby garage is super easy, and you can even hit the Starbucks across the street for a post-postal caffeine fix. This is the sort of USPS that Norman Rockwell would have loved. It almost doesn't seem real now, in retrospect, esp. after having been to so many alienating USPS branches with angry customers, long lines, and frazzled employees who never seem to wipe the permanent frowns from their faces. Healthy neighborhoods need more than green lawns, good schools, and McMansions (those I could do w/out). They certainly can stand to lose a few of the gated communities and cookie-cutter FedEx/Kinko's stores that spring up like mushrooms after a fall or winter rain. Healthy communities need public spaces - green ones, of course - but also public services and well-run private islands of essential commerce. This part of Roland Park has such things: historic, exposed-brick houses, more excellent schools than you could ever imagine, great little tree-lined side streets where children, squirrels, and joggers play, and a really nice little post office on Deepdene Road. You could do much worse than to settle down here! read more

I wanted to mail a few letters at 4:45 on a Friday because I am moving tomorrow and was afraid they'd get lost if I didn't do it immediately. My regular Mt Washington post office was closed so I had to come here. Bad idea. All I wanted was to get stamps to mail 7 letters, then buy a book. I was given the choice of the weirdest Christmas-Van Gogh-football-I don't even know sheets of 20 stamps and was told that's all they had. Like those actual 5 sheets. What?! You're a post office and you have no stamps???? So I had to peel 7 stamps off my sheet of creepy looking stamps and go put the letters in the slot myself. I admit I don't pay much attention to how standard mailing goes but it definitely isn't "offer someone stamps then make them adhere them and stick them in a slot." Thoroughly weirded out by this inferior little place. read more

I drive a little further to get to this post office, because the P.O. Clerk Terri gives the best service ever. She is courteous, professional and always concerned about meeting the needs of her customers to the highest satisfaction. You might have to wait in the line a little longer, because she is usually the only one working there, but she makes up for it with her smile and kind gestures. The lady that works at the front desk is so rude and nasty. She never has a good attitude and always talks harshly. She always has a mean, muggy facial expression. She does not like to help people with questions and adds a negative vibe to the atmosphere. read more

I usually don't write these type of reviews but after reading the other reviews I had to. I went to the Roland Park postal branch to send some important documents out. The clerk behind the counter was one of the most rude and inconsiderate people I have ever met. Her attitude and demeanor were horrible. She acted as though she hated her job and life and just didn't care to be there. She was not wearing a name badge but her clerk number is 17. I'm self employed and deal with the public all the time. There is no excuse for this behavior at any time. I paid for the envelops that I used and took my business to the Govans branch where I was greeted with a smile and a very helpful clerk. I would also rate the Roland Park branch a zero if I could. Avoid this branch if you can! read more

Perhaps the most surly disgruntled postal employees in Baltimore end up here. Maybe it is the fact that they feel that catering to high-maintenance prima-donas that stroll in here is beneath them, but they can make your day go from bad to worse in a New York second. Someone recommended I not go here and I laughed, how bad could it be? Vanessa has to be the rudest postal worker ever encountered. I have never seen a postal worker with a demeanor like this. I mailed a Priority Mail package from Baltimore to Washington DC, promised overnight delivery - 15 bucks. The following day, nothing delivered. I tracked the package mid week and found that the pkg went first to North Carolina, then to Williamsburg and then on 8/4 saw that the package was out for delivery. Okay - so the package has had a better vacation than I have had this year. The problem was - the package remained out for delivery for 7 days. So, I went to the RP Post Office and tried to get some information from the clerk. I guess that was my second mistake - her response, " The Post Office does not guarantee delivery." I am not a angry or rude person, but by the time i left there I was totally frustrated - I was told that the PR PO could not track the package nor could they help me - I was told I had to find which PO in DC had the package. Goodness. Now - on the bright side - the Hamden Post office and the support there was absolutely fabulous as was the DC PO - they finally tracked down the package and got it delivered....late, but delivered. Thanks Hamden and DC - you could teach the Roland Park PO a thing or two. read more

If I could give this place -1 stars, I would. I have never encountered such an unpleasant woman in my life. Vanessa, made it to where she wanted to challenge me over picking up a simple piece of mail. Every exchange or comment made by her was challenging, rude, and had such an attitude. I want to shout from the rooftops for everyone to avoid this post office if possible- I've already texted a few of my friends in the area warning them- because it is not worth interacting with that woman. read more

Gross incompetence!!! A package sent on Monday 12/2 for 1-3 day delivery is still being held at a sorting center on Saturday 12/7--no delivery because it is the weekend!! Will you pay $80+ again to this irresponsible business? NO! read more

This PO is the worst. I waited in line for 20 minutes only to have "Betty" tell me that the credit card machine is broken and she only takes cash but she will not accept 20 dollar bills. Got a nice lecture from her recently about breaking my 20 before I come to the post office next time. So basically pay in pennies when you go or she will flip out. She is so unaccommodating its a joke. How is that office still open? I go out of my way to Mt Washington when I can. read more
