Extremely rude, denied me service and wouldn't tell me why. I needed to drop packages off that required a receipt, and the lady behind the counter refused to accept them. I had to then spend even more time making a phone call to get authorization to drop them in the box without a receipt. She clearly didn't want to be there, she was miserable. If I could give 0 stars I would. They steal and lie here. They scan packages as felivered and picked up FROM post office at 8 pm but NO package delivered. They offer no explanation. We dont get mail for days and they say they have no workers. At this point close this MF down and just hire a person to hand mail out and I will pick my mess up. This is ghetto. When are they open? I know they have posted hours online and right there on the door...I've lived in the area for years now and have only been inside this place maybe twice becuase just about every time I show up, there is a handmade sign saying that they are closed or "we'll be back at ___" . I've left work early several times to try and get to this place and mail a package only to find they've closed an hour early. Yesterday, I showed up at 2 and there was one of these signs reading "we'll be back at 3:30". How can they close up for an hour and a half in the middle of the day? 3 times in the last week I've travelled across town to close a PO box. All 3 times, "the system (was) down," so I wasted a trip. All 3 times, the sign showing that "the system is down" was posted inside, so you had to get out of your car and go in to find out you'd wasted a trip. The phone number to the PO has been changed and is no longer available online, so you now have to call 1-800 to get no help. I tried linking this PO box to my USPS online account, but "the system" would not allow that either. I don't care that the USPS will deliver a letter to the middle of S. I've never ever in my life been given such crappy service this morning from the STORE manager. He was 15 minutes late opening, unlocked door to let us in without a mask on and was extremely rude to everyone in line. I asked for a priority mail address form (Which I saw right beside him) and he acted annoyed and handed me a tiny white label for my huge box. How about just stocking the labels before you open, leave your attitude at home. I know you are stressed but WE ALL ARE. The Kirkwood post office in Atlanta lost a cell phone that I was sending to the insurance company. The sign said all systems down and I should have taken that as a warning but Its the Federal Goverment right there shouldn't be any funny business going on. But apparently there was. .The phone was never scanned its been 5 days I went to the post office today and was told they don't scan packages there its scanned at the post office in Hapeville. UPS: Don't say you delivered my packages when you didn't. You said it was delivered "on our next to porch" on 4/6. We have a Ring doorbell (which records video of our porch) and the packages most certainly were not delivered on 4/6. I already have had it with USPS and I continue to have negative experiences each and every god-forsaken time I have to visit the interior of one of their poorly-managed locations. Even when I just needed to walk in and drop off a package with the label already taped to the box and ready for shipping, (I learned to use my own tape from a perviously terrible experience at another locations) they still manage a way to spew their venomous "customer service." I can understand why they have such low rating. There sustainer service is horrible the lady wit the short hair cut is super rude. She had a problem with explaining to what how to ship my items. If she doesn't like her job she should find a one. Then toward the end I ask her how long before the package is delivered she brushed me off and told me it will be on the receipt. Once the receipt was printed I asked her to show me she got a entire attitude and asked me if I could read. What if I couldn't ready which I can but I wanted her to show me to be sure. Just called a few minutes ago to ask why my packages are being marked as "Delivered" online, but aren't there when I get home. A woman answered, in a very nasty tone, that my mail carrier hasn't changed, so she has no idea where my packages are... because this is clearly my problem, and my fault. She told me to call back tomorrow (Saturday) at 8AM to ask for a Mr. Ewing, my neighborhood's mail carrier. I asked if Mr. Ewing had a first name, and she snapped: "NO. It's JUST Mr. Ewing!" and raised her voice to me again when I asked if I could submit a complaint and/or talk to a supervisor, saying I had to call the USPS national customer service line. She seems nice :) Luckily Amazon is taking responsibility for replacing these items, because when I called USPS' customer service line, the wait time was about 20-30 minutes. read more

I received a package 5 months late after I assumed it was stolen. Originally, it was marked as delivered in July, and since I never actually received the package, I thought it was stolen from my porch. In December, the week of Christmas, it suddenly appeared on the lawn, but was marked as delivered to porch/front door. That would be great, except in September, I moved to Alabama and changed my address, assuming that the post office would forward my mail. They delivered another package there as well. I made a formal complaint and they sent an agent to pick up the packages to have them delivered to me in Alabama. Only one arrived, but not the one that was already 5 months late. That package was returned to sender in Ohio for insufficient address?? Excuse me, but the address was correct in July when you put it back on your shelf until December. Now, your district manager won't answer the phone, you won't answer the phone and the customer service number won't answer the phone. Honestly I think this location is run by cheats and liars. If I could I would drive to the location myself and make a complaint in person, but I have a newborn. The package in question - maternity shirts and baby clothes. Little late for that now. I witnessed him turn away the customer in front of me (after she waited for 40 minutes) as well as turn me away. He claimed I had the wrong zip code on my package; I did have the correct zip code. ONE employee is bringing this location down fast. Two years ago, this was my main post office for a home business and the people that worked there were amazing. I've gone a couple times since I've moved from that area and all the times I've gone were mind boggling. Before writing this review, I saw others have experienced the same thing with the same person. The heavy set African American employee at the front desk stands up along the side of his cubicle on his smart phone. He never looks up until you've stood in front of his desk for a good minute. After finally looking in my direction, he grabs my package or envelope without making eye contact and continues to skip all security questions that all post office employees are trained and hired to perform. Today, I stopped by and asked if he had tape so that I could reseal my address sticker on my package, and he said it's for sale and that they don't give away tape. I asked again if he had any open tape to spare me a couple inches because I've never had an issue with sealing envelopes with tape they've had behind the counter and he said "nope, its for sale". I said thanks and turned to walk out the door and head across town to get to a professional US Post Office and I overheard the people that were behind me asking how long he had been working there and he said one year. It boggles my mind that he was ever even hired and is still employed there. His vibe, his energy, his facial expressions, his body language, his tone, and his gestures all scream that he couldn't care any less for any customers existence or his own existence as an employee. He's let the laid back job go to his head and shows it through his laziness and sarcastic attitude. I almost want to recommend whomever is reading this to take a little visit to this location and witness the same mind boggling experience which will take place in seconds after arriving. Never had any problems, they just like to talk a lot about life. Cool. Now, I called 10/22/2016 inquiring about a package in which the customer service lady from the 800 number told me to do. Apparently, Angela Bowchamp (name given to me by the supervisor after I told him I was filling a formal complaint) was having a bad morning. Yes, I was trying to ask a question but that was extremely rude. She then starts yelling over me and no joke the last sentence was "Sir why don't you call back when you don't have an attitude" then HUNG UP!! At this point none of my questions were answered because I never got to finish asking. I have lived in the area for three years, and a few times a year, I must ship a package. Shocker--each visit is a god*damn disaster. Twenty questions about what is in a package (just open it if you don't believe me. let's stop wasting time), random prices that change with each visit...It is easier to use the post office in my old town when I visit. My first trip, I tried to purchase a money order, but the amount was over what my bank allowed, so I had to call the bank for approval. NO ONE else was in line. I pulled out my phone to make a call, and the African America guy behind the counter lost it, saying I could not use my phone in the PO. So I stood in the lobby, as he watched me call...I hope he got off on this. Later visits, he sees me and says, "Oh here comes trouble. Make sure your phone is in ya pocket." I would love to respond, "F**k off. I am a teacher and understand phones are a nuisance in public settings, but I was asked to call my bank..." Logic fail. The bald white guy with the endless supply of snack is also to be avoided. "what's in the envelope?" "Uhhh, a letter, a check, an application, a card...does it matter?" If I could rate no stars I would. I usually don't file complaints unless it's serious. This issue has been going on for a month, where USPS has been claiming no one was home. I shop online a lot, and in this month alone, I've had over 10 packages come in. For each package, I sign up to have delivery and tracking information sent via SMS. The postman will come right up to my door, and leave a pink slip without even knocking, then walk away. I've seen him do this to my neighbor. Twenty minutes later , I get the text that the delivery was unsuccessful, and I check outside my door. Sure enough , there's a pink slip. Of course I sign it and tape it to my door, then reschedule for delivery online, but it's so annoying having to wait a whole day for my package. Especially if it's Saturday. I feel like I have to camp outside my front door waiting for the mail man , because they like to play ding-dong ditch. Over half the times I'm expecting a delivery, I am home and awake and I never hear anything. But when I do , I hear a faint single knock . I practically break an ankle running to the door, and in the 5 seconds it takes me to get from my room to the front door in my apartment, they're gone! I even tried leaving hand written notes on my door instructing them to leave my package. Sometimes they would, then all of a sudden they stopped. After this going on for almost two months, one day I caught up with the post man , and asked for several "Sorry We Missed You" peach slips to avoid this. I signed the pink slip and tapped it to my door the night before the package was supposed to arrive to me. No package was left , or peach slip , instead I got a text saying, the front of my door was "insecure"... I'm not sure what this even means! There are two options for the package to be left at my apartment: my patio and my front door. And the front door is closest. I'm also not worried about theft because I live in the far back of the apartments, and am known with all my neighbors. In the past, when packages need to be left, it's in front of my door, so I have no idea why it's insecure all of a sudden. I have contacted my local post office, endured the annoying automated system to contact USPS customer service.. I don't know what to do about this anymore. The new African American guy working at this post office location is a lazy asshole. He refuses to do anything but the minimum of his job. When I asked to use my USPS iPhone app to scan the tracking code he has JUST printed and affixed to the package I was sending, he said, "You aren't allowed to take a photo of mail." He doesn't get it, and he makes up postal rules. He acts like you're interrupting his entire day of sitting on his ass and eating his lunch by coming in and doing normal USPS business. I use this location all the time because it is close to my office, and the previous employees there have always been more than courteous and glad to help - hell, even chatty and nice. I'm pretty sure that the delivery people don't even bother to read the address because I've received mail for so many other people, many of which aren't even on my street. Who know's where my missing mail and packages show up. Is it that hard? Don't bother calling the office to complain because the managers are always changing and they don't really care what you have to say. One actually told us that we are the only ones complaining about delivery problems so it must be us and not the driver. They even suggest we get a PO BOX if it bothers us that much. The same manager also accused me us of submitting false reports of undelivered packages... because I love doing that in my spare time. Also, you're rolling the dice when you walk in the location. We should all give thanks for our service men on deployment and after all it is the Holidays. Went to this post office with a care package for a sailor and my customs form and the very unfriendly man at the counter took my box stamped my customs forms never game me a copy nor attached it to the box just put it in a draw without even as much a thanks or have a nice day. Turns out my son will not receive his Holiday package all because the postal service customer service employee did not know how to do his job! Had to open a formal complaint after going in the next morning to address this problem and having him tell me I never needed a customs form...., Hate to tell him No customs forms .... no delivery! Just like anyone else, I dread going to the post office. But, when I must, this is my location. It's never busy and convenient. I actually have one location that is slightly closer but I choose this one instead. Despite some of the other reviews complaining about customer service, I have had good experiences. The 2 guys in there I usually see are friendly and say hello when I come in even if I am not in their line. If I come in with a box, "Do you need help with anything?" as I am over in the corner digging around for the priority mail label. It isn't the cleanest and the location is old and needs some updating, but it gets the job done. read more

Last night I put an envelope in the mail box and put up the red flag. It is now the next night. The flag is still up, and the outgoing is still inside. I have witnessed a carrier drive right by my box with the flag up. Called the carrier back to pick up the outgoing. She didn't know what the flag was for. I have had my mail deposited in the next box up the street. I have had mail marked as delivered when it had not been. I have traced a small package from Canada to Atlanta Kirkwood only to not ever received it, yet the USPS could not find it within their allotted time for searches. I went to that Kirkwood PO first thing one morning when the employees were just about to open and told them that their outside deposit box had been ripped apart from the side facing their front door and that there was an envelope lying on the ground inside the metal pried apart side. They were unaware, yet this, someone inside said had happed before. I was told that there are cameras inside, but not a camera viewing the box. read more

I have lived in this area for 8 years. For the first 7, the PO operated as a PO should. Every once in a while, my next door neighbor would come over with a piece of my mail that was delivered incorrectly. That's fine. Human error. One house away makes sense. In the past year, that has changed. I buy a lot of things off ebay. They all fit in the the standard 5x8 bubble envelope that fits easily into mailboxes. In the past year, I have had 8 packages say they were delivered to my address, yet not actually to my address. Luckily, I have some honest neighbors that would come over and give them to me. The problem, some of these people don't even live on the same street. Like I said, I can understand if my next door neighbor or even 2 houses down get my mail, but an entirely different street? Unluckily, 2 of the packages never made it to my doorstep. When calling the PO to deal with this issue, I was told it was my fault for not having a big enough mailbox... Ummm, what? how is it my fault YOU delivered my mail to another street? Another reviewer talked about the heavy set black man at the counter. I couldn't agree more. There has been more than one time he has berated me in front of other customers, myself too worried to argue back in fear he would tamper with my mail. All in all, the only employee this branch seems to have hired correctly is another front desk agent, Jose. I never write reviews on anything but I had to on this one. would give negative stars if I could. To make a long story short, I reserved/paid for a PO Box online. Picked up the keys, and receipt. Had my mail forwarded. A few weeks later got an email that said if I didnt pick up the keys my reservation would be cancelled. I called usps and they said its probably a mistake since I already had the keys. Went in to check the mail and keys wouldnt work. They told me they cancelled my box, rented it to someone else and sent all my mail back. But then were confused as to why they did it after I explained I paid and have the keys. Still dont have a box...some mail is being held at the post office for me to pick up, but some mail has been returned..im so over it..and no one - will fix the problem.... read more

Okay this is my updated review on this post office and I have to say this must be the worst post office I have ever dealt with in my entire life. This is the only post office that I know that will deliver packages to your door with an active hold on your mail not only did they do this to me and my package ended up stolen but when I try to remedy the situation they act as though I was causing them a problem. Secondly you would think they would learn after this incident but oh no they turned around and delivered another package to my house without even knocking so the only way I knew it was delivered is through an alert from Amazon which told me it had been delivered an hour ago so guess what I go to my door and no package! The big African American dude working behind the counter is an absolute jerk. I researched express shipping prices ahead of time to send something abroad and was quite ready to eat the cost. Having previously interacted with this guy, I asked his advice for proper shipping forms, costs, etc. Everything was on track until the machine told him there was no way to send express mail to address I'd written, which was the exact address provided by the organization I was mailing. I tried to figure out the solution by asking his advice, but all he could do was get visibly and audibly angrier with me and finally say "you're screwed, it's not happening, you're just wasting your money". I thanked him for his help, went home and looked up shipping prices with Fedex. I went to the Ponce Fedex and shipped the package cheaper, quicker, and with absolutely zero snark, the latter which seems to be the Kirkwood postal agent's primary currency. I'm super bummed that I can't come in and do business with José, who is an absolute ray of sunshine every day of the week. The new guy is awful, actually and without any hyperbole whatsoever the worst postal employee I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with in my life. He needs to be put in the back of the office, far away from any paying customers, or just fired. read more

Jose is very friendly and a joy to see. However, Jerome is the rudest person I've ever met serving the public. Honestly, how long can USPS keep someone the entire neighborhood hates in front of the customers? I dread going in there every time he's at the counter. At Christmas he was in a worse mood than usual - he yelled at me to scan my card, not use the chip slot in the card reader. I told him that I don't need that shit and if he EVER yells at me again he'll be more than sorry. He told me that "if I want good service, I need to be a good customer". I handed him my stop-mail card one day instead of Jose and not only did they not stop my mail when I went out of town, but they stopped it AFTER I got back and held it for 6 days. This post office is convenient to my house, and I've never had any problems until the new guy came on. I can't remember his name, but he's a larger african american that works there now. Not only does he want to do the absolute minimum, he has a lovely habit of hitting on his customers (awkward and just not necessary). Today, I was trying to put a parcel in the dropbox right outside the office and it wouldn't fit so I took it out, but not before I heard someone SCREAMING at me from the office. I walked in and he proceeded to berate me about forcing my mail into the box (which I didn't do, and once I realized it didn't fit I was on my way into the office). If he had given me a second to change my mind and simply walk into the office to drop off my packages, it would have been fine (I'm not a 12 year old. I own a home business and I ship packages twice a week). He continued to give me such crazy attitude, even after I placed my packages on the counter. Um..... what in the world is wrong with this guy?? There's no reason to treat a customer that way. I even printed off my own postage at home, dude! Jose is always helpful and friendly at this Post Office. The other guy...Not so much! The last time I was in this post office, he had a bag of cookies on his counter and was grumbling to customers about how he wasn't getting any time to eat them. His attitude and service are always terrible and he seems to think that he is doing the customers a huge favor by doing his job at great personal inconvenience to him. This post office frequently opens late although you can hear workers talking in the back, that is when they even bother to unlock the door. I got a PO Box here at my husband's suggestion since our mail in East Atlanta is being stolen from our box & he said it was safer than the EAV Office, and easier to navigate than the L5P's Office. So, I did. I've never lived in a city where the post office locks the doors to the box area when the business office is closed, so I was surprised when I left out on a cold, rainy Saturday morning to retrieve a vital piece of mail that hadn't made it on Friday. I felt so stupid pulling on the door. Also, every other PO I've done business with had the box mail delivered by 9 am. This place doesn't place it until 11 am (or near), if then. I don't necessarily find the employees any slower or less friendly than any other PO I've been to, though that's not saying much for the postal service. The parking situation is always tight.
