It's 10 am and it was my very first time mailing something out. I asked the counter employee how does it work for expedite Mail. Granted I filled out the incorrect form. He made sure I was to get back in the line once I completed the correct form. That's also fine. Once back to the counter. I asked did I do it correctly this time with a smile. I know what it's like working for the public. He just started scolding me like as if I was rude or unpleasant. I was very patient while others were living because he was working alone. Very rude and unprofessional. It makes you rather drive further away just to avoid workers like this. read more

I have lived a block from this post office for 31years. So, it is convenient and I can remember the days of good customer service. They no longer take cash or coins, the 2 regular attendants could not be any less helpful. The gentleman, Lydell, apparently lives to correct and scold customers. Hmm, a post office that doesn't make you want to drink bleach? This might just be it! Or skimming the other reviews, maybe I really just lucked out.  This wee post office in Sage Hill kind of flies under the radar, but I'm glad it's around. It's not open Saturdays, and there's no automated postal machine in the lobby. Apparently this location is closed from 12:30-1:30 for lunch. It's at the short end of the Kroger shopping center, closest to Briarcliff and next to a barber shop.  I was pleased that the helpful and patient employee was masked up, gloved, and stationed behind a flexible sturdy sheet of clear plastic. And the other few patrons were keeping their distances too.  But regarding the USPS in general, unfortunately shipping seems even slower and even more expensive now. It might be wise to hop on the USPS website to get a rough idea of how much you'll be spending to mail out your parcels. read more

The staff is overall so rude. I was standing in line minding my own business and the male behind the counter yelled at another customer for "not standing behind the correct sign" and then later yelled at her again for "not tapping her package at the correct counter". The store was empty so honestly why does it matter where she tapped her package? It just makes me sad that there is likely something bothering him at home to have to be this rude to complete strangers. I will not be returning to this USPS. read more

I go to this Post Office frequently to mail packages. I have never been yelled at by an employee, nor has one been rude to me. I have heard employees ask people to get out of line and go to an unused counter to tape packages, apply certified mail stickers, etc. This is in the interest of keeping the line moving, and I don't consider it to be rudeness. On the other hand, complaints about this PO occasionally being closed during times it is supposed to be open are valid. read more

The customer service at this Post Office is one of my main reasons for this review. The line is usually incredibly long, service is slow, and once you do get to the front, the two main employees are rude. They are closed from 12:30-1:30 for lunch, which is understandable, but are in no rush to honor that time period and average 10-15 min late reopening, leaving a long line of customers (who are also on their lunch breaks) waiting to return to work. All this said, I've started scoping out numerous drop boxes around the city, and even UPS stores to drop my packages into to avoid having to deal with this branch. read more

God knows how much I love to go to this POST OFFICE, to just enjoy the long line and endless waiting time. Too bad I was the only one there this morning ;-( sadly ! So was the post lady! The post lady who wear a face mask is the Worse of All! She is terrible with her attitude, I bet everyone can sense of that while walking into the place, at least I know I feel the chills on my back. Apparently she wants me understands her when she is talking with her mouth covered. Because she said I am the one didn't answer her when I walked in to this place. But after she finished up with the package that I was sending, I asked her if I could simply take a photo of the package with the postage, which was for refund purpose. She refused my request and told me that I could only take the photo outside of the post office, and I said I'd be happy to do that, but she said she had to take off the postage - I have no clue why that would help me or make sense- clearly she was not in the mood for anything with me- maybe because I am an Asian? Not her own race? I am not sure- maybe this face covered lady never really enjoy her work or life at this post office. At the end, I am the one 'happily' walked out of the post office with my package- without postage- I guess I have to find an other post office again. two packages lost again. the people that work for this place want to do nothing but set on their butts and draw a check. packages say delivered but were not. and forget about being held responsible and paying for the packages. in the future, anything I order will be sent to my spouse's job which is done by another post office. the mail carrier here scans the packages puts them back once all scanned he then puts them in the box. if he bothers to even put it in your box. these people have lost or given away over 400.00 in packages in under 3 years. I've had neighbors bring packages to me as well as the office that these people have put in the wrong box. they need to do their job which isn't talking on the phone while delivering mail. don't bother reporting lost packages they don't care that's why their ratings so low on this site. report it a few days later you get a call saying they are investigating. a few days later a call saying it was delivered the end. looks like its time to get a police report and report this as theft maybe then they will wise up read more

Well, I never thought I'd see the day where I was writing a four star review for USPS in Atlanta. Well, that day has come and passed. I'm still in a bit of shock since every single visit I've had with a post office in the city has been worse than the last. Hard to believe that sending a package to another country, or simply needing to mail a letter, is an act of congress.... Where congress is a mob of emotionless zombie tyrants with not regard for basic human needs. However, this visit has me back on the fence of whether or not I can still believe in USPS. I needed to mail a package to some dear friends in Japan. Shouldn't be too hard, right? Well, I was prepared for the worst AND I had my son with me in his carseat. I was expecting something awful. Maybe a little tiff with the postal worker, son starts to cry, people getting angry behind me, I storm out mad, box still in tow, friends in Japan don't get delicious coffee from their buddies in the states. That was the picture I was painting for myself. However, Kelly (postal worker) was so nice and made this the most seamless process ever. She helped me smooth things out on the customs forms, showed me several prices and timeframes, and even asked to see my son! She complimented his cuteness and even struck up a conversation with me about parenthood. Then, we were done. There went my package with smiles on both sides of the counter. I thought I had won the freaking lottery I felt so good. Seriously. Thank you to Kelly for being a kindhearted and warmly sociable human and postal worker. I'd return here in a heartbeat. Especially if I knew she would be working at the counter again. read more

The people who work here are so nice and understanding. The man helping me first advised me first to not buy too many stamps because the price of postage was going up 2 cents in a week. He was also polite to exchange my heart stamps for boring president stamps. I refuse to share my love with the City of Atlanta by mailing them parking tickets with heart stamps on them!!! read more

This is "my post office" for the past year and has to be the single worst location I have ever had to deal with in my life. The "head clerk" Mr. G. Jefferson attempts to make dealings here even more difficult and I am unsure what his issue is with me...or white people...or who knows, but every single time I am forced to go to the counter and deal with him, he seems to delight in making my life a living hell, plus he refuses to serve me as a customer. Just now I had to cash a U.S. Postal money order for $100.00 and waited 40 minutes because they supposedly didn't have it on hand?? When I asked to speak to his supervisor he flat out said "no!" LoL... This would be a one star review but the new young lady who seems to do all work around there and is always pleasant and helpful gets a star all her own. read more

I went into the Sage Hill Post Office on February 8, 2019 and paid more than $28 for an overnight express mail and signature requirement for a letter of significant and timely value. This was a Friday and Lydell told me that it would be delivered by 3 pm the next day. I told him that the destination was closed on Saturday, so, he said in that case, it would be delivered on Monday.February 11, 2019. So...I called the destination and the letter had not arrived on Monday or Tuesday. So...on Tuesday I requested a re-delvery. The letter was delivered at 5 pm on Wednesday...5 days later. When I went back to the post office to get a refund on my payment, they told me since they had tried to deliver it on Saturday, I could not get a refund and they were not responsible for delivering the letter at a later date, so they did not try again. This is the WORST service and they would not give me a refund for an overnight mail that was finally delivered only after I requested a re-delivery and 5 days later. I am furious. read more

Not my usual post office but it is on my way home on some days and I was recently going to lunch right up the road from here and I had to mail out a package. Annoyingly, as another reviewer mentioned, they are closed from 11:30-12:30. Ugh. That's during lunch when alot of people can break to get some mailings done. I don't know why staff can't take lunch by shifts. Anywho. I arrived just at 11:30. There were some folks in line and I didn't know about their lunch break at the time. The desk agent informs me that the lady in front of me is his last customer. I tell him all I have is a drop off. Literally, all he has to do is grab it and put it in a bin. So he says I can put on the counter. Hopefully, all went well. Also annoyingly, they are completely shut down after hours. So you cannot stop by and drop off a letter. You must use the blue box outside- which I try to avoid. read more

I dropped off a package for return and expected it would arrive at the store well within the period required to receive a refund. When I never got a refund, I checked the tracking information and found out that from the time I dropped off the package to this post office to the time it left the post office was EIGHT DAYS. My time sensitive mail was sitting around here for more than a week before they loaded it onto a truck. If you want your mail in trustworthy hands, do not ship it here. read more

Black hole for mail. I have a PO box here for my business. 8 customers have mailed their payments here that i have never received. I have had to give them credits on their accounts so they could place stop payments on the checks and reissue. At least once a month i get someone else's mail in my box. read more

I'm conflicted about this place... the front desk staff (all two) and the carriers are all pleasant enough, but the efficiency of this post office is lacking. Here are a few examples: 1. My rent check, which was dropped off at this location, only to be delivered to a PO box three feet away was 7 days late in arriving (side note: My land lord told us to never place mail in the outgoing mailbox of our complex - they don't pick it up). 2. My mother-in-law's COPD medication (valued at $600) was allegedly delivered to our front door, but we never saw it (we live in a condo building with key-code entry and pretty reliable neighbors). 3. An Amazon order was delivered just today - status read "placed in recipient's mail box." I promise that it was not :-/ 4. I have submitted numerous "lost mail" requests, which seem to be delivered to the same mail box as my other lost items. 5. Tracking numbers are useless if the person who lost your mail in the first place is too lazy to go track it down. read more

I was surprised to see a composite 2.5 star rating for this place where at least one of the staff tries to make the customer experience as unpleasant and difficult as possible. I noticed that there are 8 "unrecommended" reviews, all with one star and echoing my experience. I guess my review will end up there. But if you read this, go instead to the branch on North Highland and Amsterdam but not during their 1:30-2:30 lunch. read more

This place always has a long line at any time of the day, but it still seems to move through quickly if you have at least 30-45 minutes to spare. Service is always ok and there is plenty of parking. I would say that for reliability, ease of parking, and location off a busy street, this is one of the better post offices I've been to. read more

I can't stand this post office. It epitomizes everything that people hate about USPS. The employees seem to be retired in place, which is nothing out of the ordinary for USPS. They close for lunch 1130-12:30 every day, rather than taking staggered lunches, so the public who rely on their services can't hope to visit during their lunch hour. One of the two terminals has been broken for months, leaving the unenthused and unhurried workers to funnel all traffic through one register. Once you do make it to the front of the line-out-the-door they'll tell you that you forgot this one thing on your package and to please fix it and then come back to the register after the next customer. So you'll add that one thing and wait anxiously for the person that was behind you to be helped or sent on an errand for their package, and you'll return to the register with high hopes that soon you'll be able to run out the doors of this hell hole. But no, the employee will tell you again that you're missing another small detail, a detail which they could have easily seen was missing in the first inspection, but did not because they either have a blind spot in their visual field or because they wanted to #%^* with you. So then you'll walk away, frustrated but unjudged by your fellow patrons because they are also but victims of the tenth circle of hell. You'll repeat these errands several times, until finally the employee grants you passage through the second, and most crucial, phase of mailing a package: Purchasing postage. Be sure to bring your passport, your mother's birth certificate, and your first lock of hair if you'd like your credit card to be considered as a valid form of payment. With just a driver's license, how can they verify you're not stealing $2.49 postage with your name and address clearly linked to it? If you don't have access to these forms of identification, you may also bring an original piece of your placenta. Or someone else's debit card, which you can use without any form of identification as long as you make sure to steal the PIN number, too. Once you make your final swipe and leave your package in the capable hands of the postal worker, you hang your head low as you walk somberly to the exit, avoiding eye contact with the poor fools who will continue to wait in frustration. read more
