I just experienced the most insulting and rude customer service. I will never visit this store again. I don't spend my time writing negative reviews, but it takes absolutely nothing to do the job you chose with basic respect and courtesy. Three employees were present, and not one of them was kind -- and one of the men clearly should not be working in customer service at all. The staff member I talked with was rude and condescending for no good reason. There was only one other person in the store, who was being helped by the other team member. The guy I spoke with acted like helping me with a minor printing task was a burden despite doing nothing else at the time and my being more than polite with him. He was extremely condescending, acting like I should know how their particular printing process works like its common knowledge, even though I had never printed with UPS before, and treated me like an idiot for not knowing their specific process as if I had never printed anything anywhere before in my life - I have, and I will go back to where I was printing before next time! On top of this, the guy smirked when he read my documents - forms for a bankruptcy filing due to medical debt that was out of my control. I don't know who this guy thinks he is, or like that kind of thing could never happen to a cashier at a shipping store (a job I literally used to have, so it most certainly can) but that level of condescension and unprofessionalism was SO uncalled for that this is the first negative Yelp review I have left literally anywhere. I would never use this store again EVER! I shipped my Amazon returns (3 items) off from this location on June 27, 2023 at around 2:15pm.. which is way before business hours closed. I returned on Thursday, and they said my items had been shipped off by now and they can't control what goes on with Amazon. I've returned many items in my time due to not fitting correctly, etc. and it's never took this longer, even more than a few hours to update within the systems. It now now July 2, 2023 and my items are JUST NOW being inputted in the system as being received, after a total of 6 days! Which is ridiculous. I would just return my items to Whole Foods or the AMAZON store before using them again. UPDATE : still haven't received my refund from Amazon because the package issued with UPS store. It's July 8, 2023. I returned something to another return zone for Amazon ( at Whole Foods ) and received my refund within a hour. NEVER AGAIN read more

I went to this location today because I needed some paperwork notarized. I have COPD and did not find a handicapped spot near the door so I had to walk a little way. When I got inside, I got dizzy and needed some help. The super nice young lady working behind the counter offered me water and asked if I needed to sit and brought her chair from behind the counter for me to use. By far the best customer service I've ever received and a reminder that some people still know how to be kind. Thank you! read more

I just called to see if they were open since the last few times I visited, someone decided that 11a and 2p were good times to take a shit break while leaving the door WIDE open. This store is very neat and has a great location convenient to restaurants and CVS. I like this UPS store because the workers keep it real. They are real people and they are nice when they need to be nice, and honest when they need to be honest. The know what they are doing, and even go the extra mile. The person assisted me told me about the process and advice on what to do, when she didn't really have to - because I was dropping off for ATT. My only complaint, is with honest service, comes slow service sometimes. That is the case for my visit here. It was not a quick one and there were only two other people in there when I arrived. But if you balance out the location to downtown Decatur, and the time, it makes more sense than driving to another one. read more

I never leave yelp reviews but, every time I go in this UPS store, the employees act like the customers are such an inconvenience. They are always rude and snippy. I went in the other day to return an Amazon package, drop off only, and no one behind the counter. Waited about 5 minutes and then spoke up "Hello". I was snapped at by one of two employees helping someone with some technical issues. She snapped, "We are helping this lady right now". It was not necessary for her to be rude to me. I didn't know all of the UPS employees were helping this one person. The rudeness happens often. If they don't like there job, leave and do something you enjoy. Possibly not dealing with the public. Errands like these can be a PITA, but this one is always a breeze. Customer service: I've dealt with two guys here, and they're always really sweet and patient. I haven't had one thing to complain about when coming. (That's what she said). They're always quick, efficient, and send me on my way with a smile (She said that, too). Parking: Tons of parking in a shared lot with other stores. No need to convince someone to ride with you so that you don't have to look for parking. We all know parking in ATL is a bust. Most of the time there are spots right in front of the store, because the guys get you in and out. QUICK, PATIENT, FRIENDLY, AND HELPFUL! Would I recommend? Sure! Will I be back? Wow. I don't usually sit and write this long of a review but CJ literally gave me absolutely outstanding customer service ! He exceeded my expectation honestly ! He gave me the best customer service I've ever received at a UPS! CJ was so patient with me and my friend. We had 6 - 70lbs boxes, 10 -50lbs boxes, & about 7- 25lbs moving boxes to deliver ! On top of the simple fact of not PURCHASING ANYTHING from UPS because we went thru the lugless website to send our stuff ! He was so nice and EXTREMELY HELPFUL with lifting, measuring, weighing stuff & more than once. He made sure nobody bothered with our stuff while we were trying to bring them all in and figure out sizes & labels. We literally spent from 2pm-6pm in and out of the ups store! As stressful and HOT as a day it was, HE HONESTLY MADE IT STRESS FREE during this process & gave us a welcoming environment ! & ON TOP OF THAT, HE WAS ALSO HELPING EVERY OTHER CUSTOMER THAT WALKED IN. I don't usually see people multitask well or handle situations like this one so professional and friendly at the same time, so I was truly impressed and very pleased with the service! read more

Shout out to whoever the asshat employee is who just walked out of this store at 4:57 pm while I was unloading my very large parcel from the back of my car parked directly in front of the door. Not only did your closing early and walking out early inconvenience me, who drove out of my way to get to this store before they closed, but also the nice young lady who arrived seconds behind me and had walked 20 minutes to drop her package off. It would have taken you all of 5 seconds to scan my label. But apparently whatever you needed to do in that 3 minutes was much more important than your customers' time was. read more

Third time I've tried to use this very convenient UPS Store location in the little CVS shopping center at Ponce and Commerce in downtown Decatur. Three strikes! (I think a couple of these other good reviews must be for some other location, seriously.) First let me mention I use UPS Stores a lot. Emory Commons on N. Decatur, Toco Hills, Shamrock Plaza, Tucker on LaVista, Edgewood/Caroline Street - at all different times of the day. And I know that staffing levels are different, "surge times" happen, etc. Stores are individually owned and the owner of this one in downtown Decatur needs to do some training or firing if they want to stay in business. I had a return package I needed to drop off and was in the area. Arrived about 6pm, entered the store. No customers in there, but very neat and new appearing as another Yelper mentioned. Squatty woman was sitting at a computer at the far side of the counter. No greeting at all. I finally asked if they were still open? She replied, "If the door isn't locked - we're open." And not in a friendly way. So I said, "I didn't know since you didn't say anything to me." "Just wait at that bay." Again, tone is hard to duplicate - but she was very bitchy. So I waited about a minute, and turned around and said I was going to another location. The woman stood up (for the first time) and touched her face like she was tracing tears from her eyes... "Oh no, we lost one dollar of your business." Seriously?! I walked in there happy as a clam, loving the world and everyone in it - and walked out spitting nails. Whatever the woman's issue was, she obviously should not be taking it out on customers. But there's more. I took a package in to ship around Christmas. The post office was super crowded and I remembered this UPS store was just down the street. Walked in - no other customers - at the Christmas rush? I thought it was a good thing at first. Devine is super friendly and took my package and gave me shipping options. I asked for the cheapest option - could arrive slowly, after Christmes. Her quote was ridiculously expensive - like $40 for a 1-lb box to Texas. I declined and went to the UPS Store at Emory Commons with the identical request. the box shipped for under $15. Devine said those were the rates at her location - were they purposefully trying to extract $$$ at Christmas - who knows - but the place remains off my radar for outgoing shipments. Finally, this is the only UPS Store I've ever been in that asked what was in my box. Not the hazardous, liquid, batteries, etc. question - but specifically asking what is in the box. This is NOT a UPS policy. It's just rude. I suggest you take your business to ANY other UPS Store or even the Post Office 2 blocks away. This place will be out of business soon, I'm sure. read more

This location was fantastic for shipping services. The two lovely ladies who assisted me were quick, capable and cheerful, they made the process of shipping several heavy boxes easy! The store was not too busy while I was there, there were three people visiting by the mailboxes. One of the thoughtful gentlemen saw me struggling with the boxes and even helped me unload the rest! I can't say enough good things about the employee I experienced at this particular UPS store in downtown Decatur. When I was struggling to get a heavy package out of my car, I felt that someone was standing behind me. I turned and looked, only to find a UPS employee named Divine, who said, "I'll get that for you." She effortlessly lifted and carried the box into the store. I was shocked. I thought this kind of thoughtfulness and customer service was a thing of the past. At the counter we encountered a problem with the Amazon scanable label, which required me to have to contact Amazon for help. Devine told me I could leave the package at the store while I came home to deal with Amazon. After several phone calls I was able to get a replacement label. I went back to the store the next day but Divine was with another customer. The employee who waited on me ran into the same problem with the new label. Again I had to leave the package and deal with Amazon. This time they sent me a different label that had to be printed but I don't have a printer. The following day I called UPS and spoke with Divine directly who suggested that I email the label to her, which I did. Problem FINALLY solved except that there was a charge, which Divine said she would pay for me. If it hadn't been for Divine this would have been more of an ordeal than it was. It's really a shame that we have evolved to the point where people just aren't willing to go that extra inch for another person anymore.
