Mind you, I did not ask for this to happen or know anything about USP prior to picking up my delivery. When I walked in, I gave my name and ID and was very polite. I was then told that because I'm "NOT A CUSTOMER" I would be charged $10 and am not allowed to receive packages until I become a customer. I was even given a note that states the same. When I asked for clarification, the employee was short and rude and simply repeated what they said the first time. How the heck would I even know what their policy is? I didn't CHOOSE to ship my missing flowers to their store. The company did. I was planning to become a customer, switching all my printing needs over to their office because as a wedding planner I often need large items and quantities. Not now.

The manager of this business reviews the facts and called me personally to apologize for the situation and to extend a refund of the money I paid as a good gesture which definitely helped make a bad situation much better. But as far as Post Offices go, this one is just like any other you've visited in the past four decades: outdated, inefficient, long lines, etc. etc. etc. On a recent visit, I was there for over an hour and had to stand in line TWICE to get something mailed. Honestly, it was ridiculous. I had tried to use the self-service machine in the lobby which, while still utilizing technology from the 1980s, is still usually a more efficient way to send a package. When the machine malfunctioned, I stood in a long line to try to send it at the counter; but instead the ONE person working there informed me she would send a manager out to fix it since my package wasn't pre-addressed. (I had been planning to print out the address on the label at the machine....argggghhhh.) I waited about 10 minutes for the manager to come fix the machine. When he finally arrived (looking annoyed), he announced he couldn't fix it. So I had to GET BACK IN LINE for another 20 minutes (and bum a pen off of another patron) to finally mail my package. Really, this whole thing should have taken no more than 10 minutes. Anyway, the USPS is what it is. My package arrived safely and I guess that's all that really matters. But seriously, if this isn't an example of an inefficient business model I don't know what is!
