2019 Yelp 120 Challenge - #1 Great Job Addison Main Post Office! I've been to this location twice on two separate occasions, and both times I received amazing customer service. This location is also a passport location. Walk in are welcome for passports, but if you plan on coming after 12pm. I suggest making an appointment on the USPS website. This will save you time as the post office get busy rather quickly. During rush hour the post office opens a smaller counter to assist with the line to get everyone in and out. This post office is pretty spacious and clean. Everything has a place and it is an easy in an out. I recommend coming in prepared with all of your things, if not it will be in for a while. read more

Clean and organized post office. Nice location not far from highway. Easy to find. They have passport fairs at this location where you can come in on a Saturday without an appointment between 8 am & 2 pm. My passport expired 8 years ago and it is so difficult to get a TX drivers license and I would have to order a certified marriage certificate and a certified birth certificate so might as well renew my passport. When i get my passport, I can go and stand in line at the DMV for another 2-3 hours and get my TX drivers' license. What a hassle. The post office closes at noon on Saturdays so Lee that in mind. While the passport fair continues until 2, you cannot make a postal transaction. There is however a stamp machine that takes a credit card. read more

I have been going out of my way to go to the Addison post office for many decades. Initially I went because the postmaster at the time was a philatelist, and always had every new issue of any stamp. I now drive 15 minutes to go to the Addison post office on a regular basis. The postal workers greet people with a smile, and have always been most helpful. Recently I had one experience with an extremely important set of papers that had not been delivered to Montgomery Texas. The supervisor at the Addison post office got on the phone to the Montgomery post master and got it taken care of. I will continue to go out of my way to go to the Addison post office. read more

I just saw reviews on Eric from over a year ago and I don't know why they haven't done anything to fix this. So im now having to tell y'all how horrible my experience with Eric was today. I had an appointment for a first time passport and he was being extremely rude. The way he was speaking to me and my family was very unprofessional, i guess he got mad and would simply throw our papers while passing them to us. He also yelled at me to tell my mom to get up off the chair she was sitting because "she wasn't a customer" when she clearly was if she's there with me. I meant to write a review sooner, as I went here a couple of times during the holidays in December. I don't know about you, but I tend to notice how people in the business of dealing with the public tend to be a little less than cheerful during the holidays. Although, I also tend to see customers being more like Grinch's than spreading cheer. Needless to say, I wasn't really looking forward to crowded trips to the USPS. I have to say, I was more than pleasantly surprised. This little USPS location was clean, well organized, well stocked, and even had an additional table set up with shipping tape to assist customers in getting their packages ready. They have a wide variety of packaging options, cards, etc. Parking was no problem either time and was able to park near the entrance (they do also have several handicapped spaces). The lines (I went late in the day about a week before Christmas) were not too long at all and moved very quickly (I was in and out within 10 minutes both times). To boot, the staff was so friendly...I mean, genuine and helpful. I made sure to give an extra Thanks, and both times the staff member was very appreciative and wished me a happy holiday. I also use this location to drop off stamped mail after hours. They have a few large mailbox drop off that you can simply drive thru. The location is also an easy to get in and easy to get out. This is one of the nicest Post Offices I have been to. There were a few people in line, so I decided to use the express machine to ship my package. It was super easy to use and super convienent. This is honestly one of the best post offices I have ever been to. I have come to this location at lunchtime 3-4 times now and its a very short wait; maybe 5-10 minutes max. I also drop off packages in the dropbox and everything goes out on time. Absolutely no complaints! Job well done!!! read more

I don't like writing bad reviews but I felt that my experience warranted it. This is NOT the place to go for passport renewal. The person who "helped" me was rushing me, was rude and bossy. I had all my documents yet they continued to be rude and bossy. Every single change for the new passport was accounted for, so no need to act like I came unprepared. It's clear to me they don't want to do passport related work here. I understand they are the post office and most likely prefer that type of work over passport work. Do yourself a favor and do NOT go there for passport help. read more

Needed some help with a passport document and when I called, a lady was very friendly and helpful. She was booked solid with passport appointments but was willing to work me in. Got there and met the lady, Ms. Denise Davis who was absolutely wonderful and within 15 minutes I was done and on my way. Ms. Davis was able to assist me even though I called two post offices much closer to my location and did not even get a iota of help. Kudos to Ms. Davis. read more

Rudest experience I've had at a post office! I arrived 10 min before closing time to mail a padded envelope to the UK, waited in line and when the clerk got to me he was upset that I had an international package because it was now 3 min to closing and it was going to take me 2 min to fill out the form and address the package. He was rude and more worried about me possibly making him late to get off work than helping me. He was insistent that I should have come earlier and said it over and over again. I explained that I was in line in plenty of time and that I had never mailed anything internationally before but since he was more concerned about getting off work not one second later than he had to I'd leave and come back another day! This location near the Addison airport is never THAT crowded, plus the Postal People are very friendly and you get done "post office fast" (the musical term is Larghetto). But my surprise that last visit, was to learn that I don't HAVE to wait in line, and to actually see a PP (Postal Person) to buy the postage for an "express" package! Yeah! So THIS time, I took their advice to use their handy stamp-selling-shipping machine (available 24 hours per day!)... as I sauntered in on a SUNDAY, AFTER 6pm to ship my VIPackage. I usually would not write a review about the Post Office because I wouldn't have anything good to say. In my experience at several different post offices in 4 different states, it's very rare that I've ever received exceptional service. I thought that post office workers were inherently angry and grumpy and I couldn't understand it. Anyway, I went to this post office the other day to mail an item and the service was FRIENDLY, FAST, and EFFICIENT! The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of its passport process. You have to make an appointment to apply for your passport and they are booked weeks in advance. You can simply walk into one of the Dallas County District Clerk Facilities with no appointment and apply for your passport (you're welcome). Other than that, this is an excellent post office for shipping. read more

The worst customer service is provide at the US Postal service in Addison Texas. The Postmaster Mrs Alicia is Rude. They offer guarantees and they don't live by it. That's why soon USPS will be history. People rely on private companies. Never going to use their service. read more

I will tell you why such horrible reviews. They lose everything. Send my boxes to my kids on December 14 and they said they will get there by Christmas. Still have one that has been in transit for 20 days. The one box was not delivered until the 29th. 4 days after Christmas. Ruined my kids Christmas. Walked in yesterday wanting to know why my one box has not moved since Dec. 24th and they have no idea and don't care and I got to the manager and he took my name and number and said he would look into it. No call yesterday and so now I have to go back in screaming like a banche today warning everyone in the post office that none of their packages will get there. You are at their mercy. Class A group of professionals run this USPS location! The service & friendliness of the staff is simply incredible. They take pride in what they do & seem to ENJOY serving customers! It's almost as if they're not even a part of the rest of the postal misery in the North Texas market. Literally - eye contact, smiling faces, & a friendly gesture while they quickly process your transaction. Eric, the passport reviewer and person at this Addison location is very unprofessional, lacks customer service, and is RUDE. He will yell at you instead of kindly correcting mistakes on passport applications in front of children applying. Eric, doesn't have the patience to review paperwork and work the process with a first time applicants. He expects you to have it all done and correct when indeed, this process can be a bit confusing and intimidating since it is government paperwork. Eric, does not care and will continue speaking to you as if you are a child and clueless. Eric has a strong language barrier so you would think he would be kind and patient with others who have the same, but instead he will speak to you expecting you to understand him the first time and have it right and will get upset when someone with a language barrier needs a translator or assistance. Eric will END your appointment at whatever time he wants just to get you to leave instead of assisting and providing assistance to do it correctly. Even when you ask KINDLY. Eric lacks professional support, Eric lacks customer service, Eric lacks patients, and Eric lacks respect. I do not recommend this location, Eric will be rude and will only slightly help you through the process after he has yelled at you, has expressed his anger with his coworkers about you, has thrown a pen on the desk for finding a small mistake. THE WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!! DON'T GO HERE IF YOU DON'T NEED TO!! I have never dealt with such bad service from any other post office than this one. My Father works for another USPS location and is appalled by the "service" this location gives. Some of the clerks at the counter are very nice but unfortunately everyone else in that works there gives this location a bad reputation. The letter carrier that delivers to our office is rude and lazy. Never says hello when greeted and always leaves prior to picking up our outgoing mail. Also, how hard is it to bring in the letters when delivering a package at the same time? What is the point of stopping at the mailbox if you're coming inside anyways!?! This same letter carrier will drive away if you tell him you have letter that need to go out. It went as far as our pregnant supervisor had to stand in front of his vehicle to ensure he would wait 30 seconds -1 minute for us to bring him our outgoing mail. I recently ordered something online and was notified that it will arrive in 2 separate packages. One package arrived last week. I go online today to track the 2nd package only to find out that the 2nd package was sent back to the sender due to an "insufficient address". How was the address insufficient when the first package was delivered with no issues to the same exact address? This is ridiculous.. I'm thinking it's time for this USPS location to make some serious changes. I always make it a point to visit the other USPS office on Trinity Mills because they actually try to be helpful as best as they can. Arghhhhh!! read more

I mailed 7 small packages from this location on a Tuesday and the expected delivery date was Friday. They never arrived and I couldn't get any tracking info until that Sunday and it showed that they were in DALLAS!! The following Tuesday it still says Dallas so I go to the post office to see what was going on. The supervisor was EXTREMELY rude and not helpful at all. She just said Friday was the expected date it is not guaranteed. Yes I understand I day or so late but in a week my package is still in the same city!? Don't. I repeat. Don't. Renew your passport here. The gentleman that works in that department is rude, demeaning and unprofessional. I got married and needed to change my name on my passport. I had called several times to try to make an appointment and got no response, so I showed up. There's a large sign saying "no appointments needed for adult passport renewals." He scoffed at the fact I didn't have an appointment, and asked if I tried to do so. I said yes and he told me I should've tried again. Like really. He then told me I'd have to wait behind the people that did... DUH. I politely did what I was told and as I was waiting he continued to address me, asking if I had this document or that document. I had come prepared with everything and he acted like he was looking for a reason to send me away. I might add that I witnessed some of the women working the mail counter badmouthing him... saying that when we were waiting for him to make copies, he was actually just texting and playing on his phone. So anyway, this is my first one star review. It takes quite the establishment to make me do this... but my experience with him made this worth it. read more

Today is the 4th time within a 3 month period I have not received my package ordered. THE FOURTH TIME! When I call I get no where. Last person I actually spoke to wouldn't even give me her name. She said all you are going to do is call my boss and lie on me because you are a liar. I am a liar because you guys are either losing or stealing packages I am paying for? She hung up on me not once, but THREE TIMES. After that time they began to just let the phone ring. THIS PLACE IS HORRID! If I could give 0 star's I would!! I moved from one unit to another in an Addison complex and entered the proper forwarding information and my mail has yet to be delivered. I received a green paper in red writing saying "no name, no mail". I entered the correct information and guess what!! I have yet to receive my mail. The main piece of mail I am missing is my drivers licences, which was sent to the correct address w/ the correct apartment number. I can't even order another one w/ convenience because I don't have the audit number. The customer service when dialing 9722335520 is horrible and the lady that answered the phone was irritated because I was asking her about the mail and stated that "no one was receiving mail because their plants were down". I told her this has nothing to do with today, 08.10.18, and that the mail was sent on 06.12.18 and this was the 2nd time I have called looking for my mail. She was rude and the tone she gave over the phone was that of she didn't have time and I was wasting her time. I will not be returning to this post office! I mail regular packages of clothing to my friend using the flat rate box. The last time I went to the post office, I was told my box was too full and I had to be charged by weight and not the flat rate. I have filled my box the same way for months and have used the same post office! I always tape my box, even though it is securely shut by the adhesives on the box, just for added security. I was told if the box wasn't TOO FULL, I wouldn't need the tape. So, I drove over to the Farmers Branch post office where there was no line and my package was mailed without a problem. read more
