This was suppose to be a great day for our 17th Year as a Framily going "tree hunting". It started a a cold day and soon became heated when someone stole the tree my father had cut down. We had cut ours as well and laid them next to each other. While trying to get a tree wagon and/or our truck to get closer to load the trees someone came by and took the tree my father had cut. I am the guy that ran down the hill and tried to confront whoever STOLE, my Dad's tree. As we told the older man in Brown jacket what happened he responded with, " Don't come back." Came here for the first time this year. Prices are a bit high but in line with most tree farms.. Nice decent sized family farm with super friendly staff. Found maybe my best tree that I've ever had this year at this farm. read more

It's been a lifelong dream of mine to go Christmas tree hunting. That sounds crazy, I know. But I shit you not, I've always wanted to go out and cut down my own Christmas tree, kinda like the Griswolds (minus the near-death experience with a big rig and my eyes freezing over). So when my sister and brother-in-law suggested we go here (they work Dr. Urquhart at U-M Hospital) to get our Christmas tree this year, I was all over it like Kim Kardashian on a faked marriage. It was a quick drive, and it's a beautiful, expansive farm. I had NO clue there were so many different species of Christmas trees! The folks at the farm are really helpful in explaining things if you've never been there before, and they have a pretty good system worked out. You grab a wagon, saw, & a map, and you're on your way! It's also no more expensive than getting a tree at a lot, and the experience is way more meaningful and creates such better memories! We had a lot of fun. It's definitely our new tradition for Christmas! read more

Called to ask a couple of questions several weeks before tree cutting season. The woman I talked to on the phone was incredibly rude and short tempered. By the looks of other reviews, that seems to be a trend. Maybe these folks should not be in a customer service industry if they've got such a crappy attitude. read more

My family has been driving 45 minutes to this tree farm since they started. My kids love being part of the finding and cutting process. The hay rides and hot chocolate keep them happy too. There's enough tree variety that we always find a "good" one. The greeter, Jim(?), will help direct you to the type and size tree you want. read more

Going to Urquhart Tree Farm every year has become a family tradition. We always enjoy the experience!

I bought a tree that was pre cut. Asked them to cut some off bottom they threw the tree on top of my car. I asked if they were going to tie it down. Four grown men standing around and one pointed to a box of twine. I am nearly 60 . When I got home the tree would not fit into even the smallest stand because they did not remove any of the branches near the trunk. Completely useless. read more

The prices are always great and reasonable. The staff is so friendly and helpful and I love the family feel this farm has. It is a great experience for your start to the holidays with hay wagon rides hot chocolate coffee cookies and fruit. In the barn where you check out there is decorations, tree stands & homemade wreaths you can buy along with your beautiful Christmas tree purchase. read more

Christmas trees like Charlie Brown(thin and small) costs $50 and up. They give you this mini wagon and they do not help you load or tie the tree to your car. I'll never go back again. Other tree farms that I have been to have a truck get you and your tree after you cut it down and help you load the tree. Worst experience. read more

This is the first time we've visited this tree farm. My kids were excited to jump on the tractor-pulled wagon and go cut down a tree! The selection in the field we were dropped off at was a little sparser than we would have liked, so we went back to the barn to check out the pre-cut selection. This is where my 5-star rating was earned! The selection was great! We opted for a 9 foot Frazier Fur. My wife noticed the price tag said $54.95, but the FF right next to it was marked at $69.95. We called an employee over, and asked about the difference in prices. He immediately indicated that the tree we picked was mismarked, and should be marked at $69.95. No problem, mistakes happen. We put the tree back, as that was a bit more than we budgeted. A few minutes later, the original young man and who I took as his boss came over to me. The older gentleman said we could absolutely have the tree for the marked price, saying it was their mistake. He insisted, so we bought that tree. Spectacular customer service all the way around.
