They had wagons but when it is a busy time, you might have to wait for one. But I now live in an apartment that limits me to 2 pots or planters on the patio and 3 smaller pots by front door. I did find some plants but they didn't have a selection of pots to plant in. So if you have a house, this is a good choice, but if you live in an apartment and only need a few plants or pots, stay with full service greenhouses. I am still glad I came out.

Also bought cauliflower, cabbage, two onions, and a cucumber. All were absolutely delicious for a perfect summer dinner. Sautéed one onion and the cabbage with some bacon. Steamed then Sautéed the cauliflower with some butter. Chunked up the other onion with tomatoes and cucumber and added some dressing for a great little salad. Served it all with some steaks off the grill, and it made for an awesome combo for the dads. I also took advantage of their 6 for 25 jams, preserves, and salsa jars. Got a hot chunky salsa, orange marmalade, blackberry jam, raspberry jam, strawberry jam, and hot pepper jelly. I already used the pepper jelly with some brie for an appetizer today. It would rock pared with any soft cheese, even cream cheese. I can't wait to use the other jams. Super quality for super cheap. Stop in. You are bound to find something delightful.

Our first purchase with them went well and they were helpful with material estimates and planning. As for our second experience with them, it appears they were in a hurry to get the job done and the quality of their work fell short of our expectations. After calling them several times and explaining the issues with their work, we could never get them to come back out to address the problems. We were disappointed in the lack of customer service and the results of the work they did. It has taken an additional six hours of work to correct their mistakes. (Wrong color pavers used, failure to complete the job, use of substandard material, failure to follow up, etc.) I would not recommend them for paver work.

Overall, it was an excellent event and Douglas clearly knows what he is talking about from his 40+ years of experience! The inside of the building has items from various garden related vendors (except for one - I will get to that one in a minute): fairy garden items, bird houses, yard decorations, etc. They also have food items from several Amish bakeries and oh my, the hand pies are excellent! Thankfully for my waistline I only had a bite of my husband's apple hand pie after we left or I would have gone back in and one of every flavor. Where Salem Gardens stands out is their dedication to plants that are unique. Yes, you will find marigolds (standard for all gardens for pest control) but they have an amazing assortment of other plants that are truly different. If you are trying to perfect your gardening and need the best quality dirt, this is your spot. If you want the best Amish treats, freshly delivered every Friday, you have to stop by. They have the best popcorn, breads, and cookies. The owners, a 40+ year landscaper and his wife, put decades of knowing and care into this shop. They built it by hand, and crafted it to be an incredible community space. They host fun community events like glass cutting and fairy basket making classes. The prices are incredibly reasonable. This is about a 45 minute drive from me but I know I'll be back!!! A well worth visit
