Lodi Farms has a marquee sign at their entrance. Cute sayings and clever daily sales. We blew bubbles to get a discount. How easy is that? And fun, too. Sometimes you have to sing a song to get your discount. More work, but come on - you can choke out a melody for the bubbly lady at the cash register. I think she's the one who comes up with all the fun sales. They have a lot of perennials! There is a demo water garden with waterfall. I think the bushes could use some grooming. They have overgrown some of the smaller plants. At least that shows me that the water garden feature has been there for a long time. There were some badly neglected veggie starts. If you go off the beaten trail, you might want to wear your muck boots, if it has rained recently. I wanted to inspect some trees that we were considering buying. Some have been there for a year or more, and are showing signs of stress. They were hilled in with wood chips, but I don't think they have a way of watering anything that isn't close to the greenhouse. Makes me very leery of buying a $250 large tree (2" diameter trunk) and plunking it into my yard. I suppose they all come with a guarantee, but I'd rather not plant anything that might need to be replaced. We got some Hicks Yews in five gallon pots. They had healthy new growth so I felt confident going ahead with that part of the plan. We paid a decent price: $40 each, minus our 15% bubble-blowing discount - down to $34 each. read more

I had a great experience with Lodi. We moved to a new house and I wanted to buy several trees. My daughter and I stopped by Lodi and were given so much helpful information about various tree options, pricing, what might work with our yard etc. I think the man who helped us was named Joe, and he was so knowledgeable and very nice as well. We bought several trees (magnolia and oak) and had them planted. The people who planted them were very nice and came right on time. A month or so later, as the trees began to get their leaves, we realized a portion of one of the trees was dead. We called Lodi and without us even asking for a replacement, they insisted on replacing the tree without charge. A week or so later, they came out, removed the other tree and replaced it with a similar healthy one. The whole thing was so easy, and it made me thankful to be dealing with a local business and not an online tree seller. It was a great experience and I was super impressed by their customer service. Nothing but good things to say, and all our Lodi trees are now flourishing, and I'll definitely use them for my future plant needs. read more

I had 3 yards of planting mix (half compost, half topsoil) delivered for backyard above-ground beds. We have a narrow driveway and their delivery person was able to get the dump truck very close to where I intend to use the dirt, so I'm very pleased. Inexpensive, prompt, good quality mix, delivered for $120. Recommend! read more

Horrible customer service ordered trees in early spring they said they'd have them in three weeks it's now Midsummer I still have no trees I wanted to plant the trees while they were still dormant not in the heat of summer I went in and got the runaround saying that somebody was going to call me and they never did went in again they said someone to call me and they never did finally they called and said they were going to come with the trees to plant them and they didn't show up if you can't take it with you don't buy it read more

Horrible customer service. Called day of delivery to tell me that they ran out of the mulch I ordered because of unexpected pickups and there wouldn't be more in until Thursday...translation: we had your money and didn't want to give up the other business. They also said they would still deliver the river rock I ordered but then told me later in the day that they couldn't deliver that either. They could have offered to waive the delivery charges or offered me some kind of discount on my order, but all I got was a half-hearted apology so I cancelled my order. read more

Lodi Farms is among the best nursery's I've been to. They have an incredible selection of trees and plants of all kinds. The staff are all quite knowledgeable and spend a lot of time with each customer. The new owner's have really improved the facilities. I look forward to seeing what they do in the future. I like Lodi's! After stopping at the big box stores today, and seeing the same 'ol same 'ol plants that I do every year, I decided to go to Lodi's. Cool place! Simple setup, moderate quantities - but the plants were more unusual varieties and looked healthier than the big box places! Be sure to roam to the back areas of the nursery for more choices. Nice people, reasonable prices. And my yard will be spectacular and unlike the other yards in the neighborhood! UPDATE May 2016: I'm raising Lodi's from four stars to five stars! First time ordering mulch. Easy online ordering! Received exactly the high quality I expected, delivered to where I needed on the property, covered the mulch with the tarp and blocks I left. Avoid. Rocks I ordered last year came mixed with large amounts of dirt/mulch and were a huge headache to deal with. Called in and customer service was lousy, basically got "Sorry, there's nothing I can do, It's your problem now" from the lady. Other contractors I know have had similar experiences. read more

So far so good. We went to Lodi to find a big serviceberry tree ...we hadn't been able to find this int he size we wanted at numerous other places. They had really nice size trees for the price. We had just come off a *terrible* experience with another nursery surrounding some other trees. Communication at Lodi was great...the tree came and was planted on time. The tree still looks good. So unless the tree tanks over the winter, I'm happy! read more

We visit Lodi Farms every year for our Christmas tree and we always have found great service. We are grateful they are in our community. Also, the times are wrong here for the holiday season. They claim to have a lifetime guarantee on their trees, but just try getting them to make good on it. They offered me a third of what I paid for a tree that was sick from the time I got it and had lost it's top third. And they were nasty about it too. Lots of better nurseries in the area. read more

I phoned Lodi's from here in Washington State to order a bridal wreath spirea as a birthday present for my sister who lives in Saline. Jane Riddle answered the phone and could not have been a finer example of superior customer service. Furthermore, she has a great sense of humor which made our phone conversation FUN!! My husband and I had a great experience at Lodi last weekend. We're relatively new to landscaping and were looking for a small tree we could plan ourselves. After doing some research and not finding what we wanted at the big box home stores, we looked at the options on Lodi's website and thought we'd find a great selection - and we did! We have bought a number of shrubs and a large tree which are all growing well two years later. I have been happy with the service, I do like the silly games at checkout, and they have an excellent selection of shrubs. The prices are very reasonable. It can be muddy, which is why they don't have five stars. read more

I called 7 local landscaping companies. Only 2 called me back. Of those 2 - Lodi was the only one who came out and gave me a quote. The quote was accurate and the service was done exactly when they said it would be. The crew was professional and quick. We had extensive landscaping done and 1 of the 40 plus plants we had failed. I am very pleased with the service provided by Lodi Farms. They talked to us at length about the type of tree that would go well in our yard, gave us all the pros and cons, and allowed us to make our own decision. Since we were digging our own holes, they gave us excellent instructions on how to do that, then selected the trees and delivered them (ahead of schedule too!). The trees were beautiful specimens and they made it easy for us to finish the planting by leveling the trees in the holes, something that would have been impossible for us to manage (400-lb. trees are hard to move...).
