Lack of integrity with this company, broke spigot and lied about it. Very late on promised delivery date also.

I think the man who helped us was named Joe, and he was so knowledgeable and very nice as well.

Last time I wrote a review for here I was not a homeowner. Now I've been one for over 12 years and…read moreI've been here many times over for goodies for my yard, gifts, treats for myself, etc, and it's become one of my favorite places in town so I figured I should finally give them good update! No matter the time of year I love visiting Downtown Home & Garden. My previous review stated, "I love any store where I can get tulip bulbs, a new bird house, a winter hat shaped like a Christmas tree, a new cookie sheet and a loaf of Zingerman's bread" and all that still rings true. But these days I also add national parks merch, gear for my dogs, holiday decor, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks and, perhaps most exciting for a Polish broad like myself, a variety of Polish pottery pieces. In the spring and summer months I can be found perusing peony bulbs for my garden, hummingbird feeders, bird seed and squirrel proof bird feeders, planters, plants/starters for my veggie garden, pest control and fertilizers, plus a variety of lawn decor and sculpture pieces, etc. Some things can be kind of pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Even after years out in the elements everything I've bought for my yard here is still in amazing condition, my plants from here always yield the most delicious fruits and veggies, and the little birdies are so happy with the snacks we provide them from their bins.

Interesting store that is probably really good if you're a suburban homeowner. While the work crews differ, and at times work is outsourced, we were very impressed and happy with the results, especially the paver patio. As with everything, things may not always work as expected, however, Superior operational management listens and does rectify any issues that don't measure up. Overall we are very happy with Superior and recommend them for your landscaping and gardening needs.

I was very disappointed with the 50/50 garden soil mix I received\. Instead of being loose and…read morewell\-draining, the soil dries into a hard crust that becomes almost cement\-like\. After watering, much of the water runs across the surface instead of soaking into the soil, making it difficult to establish healthy plants\. Another serious concern was the presence of small plastic fragments mixed throughout the soil. I found various types of microplastic pieces scattered in the material, which is unacceptable for a product intended for gardening and growing food. This raises concerns about contamination and overall quality control. Another major issue was the large number of weed seeds in the material\. Within a short time, I had hundreds of weeds germinating throughout my raised beds, requiring constant hand weeding\. This has added many hours of unnecessary work\. I expected a quality garden soil suitable for raised beds, but instead I've had to spend additional time and money adding organic matter and other amendments just to improve its structure\. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product and hope the company improves its quality control\.

Weeks later, I contacted the company asking when the service would be performed because I had received no completion notice, no door hanger, and saw no evidence that the work had been done. I was then told the service had actually been completed a month earlier and my card was charged. When I raised concerns, the company relied on GPS records showing a truck at my property but could not provide photos from my property, despite telling me that photos are normally taken. What disappointed me most was the way the issue was handled. At no point did anyone offer to come to the property, walk the lawn with me, inspect the results, or independently verify my concerns. Instead, I was left with a charged credit card and no confidence that I received the service I paid for. Most importantly, there was never any visible evidence that the aeration and overseeding had occurred, and there still isn't. More than a month later, the lawn shows no meaningful signs of new grass growth, improvement, or change. Whether the work was not performed or was performed so poorly that it produced no observable result, the outcome was the same from my perspective: I paid for a service and saw no evidence that it benefited my lawn. The office staff was polite throughout the process, but based on my experience, I would not use this company again.

I had a hip replacement in 2025 and was struggling trying to clear her driveway of snow and ice that had built up and the snowplow had buried the front of the driveway. A truck with a plow on the front from "The Good Guys" pulled up and asked if I needed help then proceeded to clear the driveway of all the snow and ice. They were a godsend and very much appreciated.
