Hema is an eyebrow genius ... most times, which is the reason for four stars instead of five. I've been doing my eyebrows here for three years now but only switched over to Hema as my eyebrow guru for about a year and a half. The first time she was magic. A few visits after that, no big deal .. same ol' service. One day, however, I came in right before she was rushing out to catch a flight. I regret asking her to make an exception for me and threading my brows. Long story short, she messed up and made them thinner than I like to keep them. Thankfully, hair grows and my Anastasia powder did the trick in filling them in while I grew them. Because I trust Hema, I went back and told her what happened. I could not be happier that I did. My eyebrows look better than they ever have before. As far as shaping, Hema is the one to see. No, she's not perfect nor very engaging sometimes but tell her what you are looking for and she'll work with what you got. I stopped in for a brow shaping, nervous because this is only the second time I've tried threading. The first time was in NYC and it was incredibly painful, and I immediately had an acne flare up after the session. After signing in I was asked to sit down and a woman named Netti began to work with me. It was significantly less painful than I imagined or remembered, and I only experienced mind swelling and redness after the session. Six hours later no painful breakouts! She was sweet, polite, she listened to my concerns, and the session was fairly priced. I plan on returning in a few weeks. read more

She is the best at being rude, she doesn't speak nor does she ask how you'd like your brows. And my brows were never great. So not worth the up charge. Now, if you request her she has an attitude and attempts to force the customer to be serviced by one of the young ladies working (who are horrible; my eyebrows were jacked 3 times) It's crazy, if I request YOU why do you have an issue doing your job?!? Ummm I was not that impressed with Hema... She was very nice and I appreciated all of the fanfare with the signs for her and the up-charge. I thought that was a cute marketing ploy. But my brows were just okay and one was thinner than the other and took 3 months to grow back. I probably won't be back but I'm sure you can get a decent job if you're in the area. Hema is definitely overrated. Nothing special If I'm being honest. She charges more, but her work is mediocre. I feel like she's moody, too. If she's in the mood that day your brows will come out just ok. If she's not, you will have missed hairs everywhere, no arch, no structure or defined brows. After 3 chances I'm over her. read more

I read great reviews for Hema but the sign said I had to pay extra for her so I went with another lady. I don't remember her name but I was not pleased with the way they turned out. Been going to Hemma for over 20 years, when she used to do eyebrows, facials and waxing at her house. Followed her when she opened her shop in Passaic. Couldn't be happier that she opened a shop in Wayne. Don't mind the girls that do the brows. They do a pretty good job. I started coming here when I moved to the area. At first I thought they were a bit expensive in comparison to my lady in Union City who's much busier and has two places and does an awesome job. I came here because its more convenient and closer to home. The first few times the owner was really sweet to me. I don't know what I have done to her that the last few times she has been so rude to me. Bad business, I rather walk around with a hairy face then come here again. went there last week because of a recommendation, well I saw the sign for Hema but since she was busy with a costumer the other girl dragged me to her chair which I was ok with since it's my 1st time and I didn't know better well, she took maybe 2 min on my brows.. the top of my eyebrows she didn't do and she trimmed the length on one eyebrow and not the other, not to mention she left a lot of stragglers... and my hair is fairly blonde to begin with so you gotta really make sure all is off... well she didn't I went in on a Tuesday by Saturday I was already seeing new growth that she forgot to do because she was rushing... which I don't know why since she had no costumers..... not going back to that place but she should be either fired or thought how to thread eyebrows because they are losing business because of her read more

I am in love with my new brows :). She totally reshaped them leaving a natural arch, and touched them up without removing too much hair.
