Avoid going here at all costs. I get my eyebrows threaded and my upper lip waxed. Every time I Come here I get cuts by my eyebrows and she literally rips my skin off of my upper lip or on my chin were I get my wax. I also go to the Rupi location in Clifton were My skin is never ripped off . The one in Clifton is so much better. MUCH LESS PAINFUL. I used to come here because of convenience but I would rather look like chubaca then come here ever again. read more

I've been coming here to get my eyebrows threaded the past three times. A little background - I had a DISASTER of an eyebrow incident last march (lol that its march and this happened to me again) where the lady basically took off at least half of my eyebrows. Please see my previous review for Arc salon in montclair if you want a reference. My eyebrows basically have not been the same since - I grew them out for months then finally decided to try Rupi with all the good reviews. The place is clean, never crowded, and the prices are cheap! Bonus plus for having a rewards card. Every time I've gotten my eyebrows there (except this 3rd time), I left happy and relieved that I found a good eyebrow place. Well, here I am one year later again with most of my eyebrow off. I wish I could take the blame but ever since my eyebrows were taken off, I've been very detailed when I get my eyebrows done. Our conversation went as followed: Threader: Just a clean up? Me: yes please. Also I had a really bad eyebrow job done a year ago and still trying to recover so that why there's bald spots. I like my eyebrows very thick so please don't take a lot off. T: *laughs* Ok I'll make sure I do it well Me: thanks I've been trying to grow them out So I sit there and it hurts more than usual. Fine I have a high pain tolerance no big deal. I realize it's taking longer than usual. My optimistic self says "maybe she's being extra careful since you told her about last year". Wrong. I could even feel the string being too far up my brow bone. 5-10 mins later and she's finally done. I look in the mirror and could not believe it. I told her I wanted them to stay thick. She said she just shapes them. I said ok but I said I like my eyebrows thicker. She then proceeds to tell me "do you want to take off more here?" And points to my brow tail. NO I DO NOT PLEASE STOP that's the opposite of what I wanted. She asked how she could fix it. Not sure how she can since there's not much to work with. Ok vent over. Moral of the story - it depends on who you get. The other two girls were great, this one not so much. What made is worse was that she kept saying I just shape them I just shape them. If she didn't understand what I wanted, she should've handed it over to the next girl. Sucks that I now have to find another eyebrow place that will truly listen to what I want. If I wanted thin eyebrows, I'd be happy! The shape is great but you know, it's because she had a full eyebrow to work with. I think the worst part was that she was taking hair from where the eyebrows start so now they are so far apart??? If you have a good eyebrow lady, message me. Maybe I can go again in a few months considering I have to wait until these grow out.... read more

I first went to this location about six months ago to get my underarms waxed and when I left the salon both my armpits were red and burned. This was not a result of the wax being too hot it was a result of the way she would place the fabric and aggressively rip it off. I decided to give their other location to try and since then I have had no problems. Today I was close to this location in Lyndhurst and decided to give it a try again and low and behold I'm home with both armpits burned and swollen. I will never go back to this location again. I absolutely love the shape of my brows... but the amount of stinging from the cuts I was left with isn't worth it. (Eyebrow threading) I'll have to wait for them to heal before I put any makeup on. Which by then, my eyebrow hair will be overgrown again. This happened on both eyes, though it didn't hurt during the actual process. :(. I loved the quickness on making an appt on the same day. The attentiveness was superb they take temp, a sanitizing station readily available, and all technicians are wearing mask the entire time and of course all requirements needed due to COVID-19 prior to seating. My technician was named "DOLLY" she was just like her name a Doll! So sweet and gentle and would ask sporadically are you okay- is that fine- super encouraging being that I haven't been threading in many months from obvious reason. I'm extremely delighted and grateful on how my threading of my eyebrows and upper lip came out! Amazing job thru and thru! No complaints whatsoever. No wait times at all; everything is super clean and sanitized and whomever will be the next client will be just as pleased as me! Okay, so I have had this place bookmarked for a while and have been dying to try it out. I recently made the change from waxing my eyebrows to threading them and have been kinda shopping around to find the right place. Today was my first time coming here and I was very happy with the results. The lady did just as I asked (clean them up and leave a little so they can thicken) as opposed to other places that when I say to just clean them up they make them thinner. The woman was also SO SWEET. Unfortunately, I can't remember her name.. Something with a "N" though. While I was inside I also decided to get a Henna which was the main reason I wanted to come here in the first place. I was able to show the woman a picture of a Henna design on my phone and within 10minutes she was able to do it. It came out so beautiful and I am very happy with the results and how authentic it looks. I most definitely recommend this place for threading and more importantly the Henna. I will definitely be making this my regular eyebrow spot and be coming often for more henna. read more

For fear of missing half an eyebrow, I've been committed to a threading place 30 mins away that was $5 and very hard to beat. Being that tomorrow is my first day of work and have a trillion things to do, I didnt have the time to travel and I saw that Rupi was open so I decided to try it out. The place was very clean and I didnt wait long while she took care of 2 customers before me (which both came out amazing). The thread she used was of better quality than my other place because it didn't leave my face red like a tomato and she offered cream afterwards which is always great. As I was paying she explained their punch card deal which after 9 visits you get a free threading, which is awesome. Yay to finding a new place and still having both eyebrows! read more

No appointment is necessary at this place so I walked right in and trusted my eyebrows to the first person available. She did an awesome job at taming my curly eyebrows while keeping the exact shape my usual eyebrow person had already made. $6 for eyebrow threading is great (I pay $9 in the city). I moved to Lyndhurst a little more than a year ago, I was terrified that I wouldn't find a good eyebrow place and I would have to continue to travel to my lady in Jersey City every week or two. I've been going to the same eyebrow lady since I was in High School (we are talking about more than 10 years now) and I was so relieved when I decided to give this place a try. I usually go to Tina, I have naturally thick eyebrows so all I ever need is a cleaning but she does a great job. The customer service is good, and I honestly like the whole punch card program that they have, after a certain amount of visits you get your free visit and they give you a new card to start all over again. I was looking for a place to get a last minute facial. It was very easy to set up a last minute appointment and they were very accommodating. I also ended up getting my eye brows threaded and my underarms waxed. Everything was great! However, the facial was subpar as the person doing it used too much force while extracting blackheads from my nose and I had peeling and bruising a few days after. Also, most of my pores remained clogged and huge despite the time, money, and pain I endured. Will likely be back for threading and waxing but not facials. read more

Just getting my eyebrows threaded on my lunch break. They were fast and efficient. I just walked in and was quickly ushered to a chair. I do wish they had a selection of eyebrow shape types. And the threading specialist always ask if your comfortable and if the results are what you asked for. My henna tinting lasts the most in this place. I wonder what type of henna is used. First and foremost, the eyebrow threading has improved. The woman who never gave me even eyebrows is no longer there, so my experience has improved significantly. And I no longer want to drive into Jersey City to save myself $2, so this place is perfect. If any of you have read my last review about facials, I was told by one of the women at the shop that she was fired. Apparently, she was explicitly told not to re-use towels or garments EVER on a client, but she obviously ignored those instructions. For that, she has been fired. So, facials may have improved - let me know if you ever get a facial at Rupi before I get a chance to return. read more

I came here a few times and didn't feel overly eager to be a loyal patron. I didn't feel very welcomed or comfortable, almost like a feeling that I was annoying them for being there? I felt that the threading was overly painful for some reason. I told my sister about it and she said that threading shouldn't feel like that. The price was great, but it was too much of a hassle to get here before closing at 7 pm based on my schedule. I tried out another place in the area and enjoyed the experience much more. I have been going to Rupi for eyebrows for few months now.. the first few times were good.. and I thought I finally found a great place for eyebrows. The past 5 or 6 times, it has been horrible experience. The girls who work there keep changing. You will see new faces every time (and I go once in 4 weeks). It seems like they are learning and have no clue how to shape brows. Both brows end up looking different shapes and they pluck way too much in spite of telling.. it also hurts more than usual. I will not recommend this place to anyone who wants clean, symmetrical, polished look. I know few people who might want a quick in and out place, this might work for them as its never crowded (another red flag). read more
