Misleading Auction Practices - Buyer Beware I won an Urge2Hunt auction with a high bid of $3,750. The day after the auction closed, I was contacted by Serge and told there was an undisclosed minimum price of $7,950 that I would have to pay to receive the hunt. This minimum was never disclosed anywhere in the auction listing before or during bidding. After asking Serge to show where this requirement was stated, I received no response. Changing the price after an auction closes is misleading and undermines trust in the process. Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, this appears to be a pattern of undisclosed terms and pricing changes. Proceed with caution. read more

I've taken my adult boys and nephews on hunts through Serge the last two years. Both hunts were fantastic. Two years ago, we hunted Drake Walker's property in Grouse Creek (NW Utah) on a DIY cow elk, doe deer, and doe antelope hunt. Walker owns a patchwork of parcels, and you can hunt a two mile radius on public land around each parcel. This gives you a really large area to hunt. We ended up shooting three deer and an antelope. We didn't put the time in to locate and commit to hunting the elk. All the boys had hunted hogs before in Central California, but it was the first deer hunt for all of them. If you go, get tags for elk, deer and antelope. Also, the "cabin" on Drake's ranch is just a fly-infested shed, so bring tents and air mattresses and "car camp." Last year we hunted cow elk with Melissa and Lickety Split outfitters. We saw hundreds of elk, including some massive bulls (we were only hunting cows). The only trick was to glass them to wait for them to move off of Indian land and onto a huntable ranch. We only harvested one cow, but the boys had their chances. We've booked again for this year. It is a meat hunt, but there is nothing better than elk - IMO it's better than beef and we filled our freezer for the entire year. Both of these hunts are budget hunts. It's the only way that I can afford to take my boys and nephews. Both hunts are super easy and great for novices. In closing, I do two big game hunts every year: one in California where I live, and one in another Western State. I've hunted elk in Oregon, Colorado, Idaho and Utah, and deer in Colorado, Texas and Utah. If you can't spend $5k-$8k per hunter, both of these hunts are a great option. And, by the way, nobody can ever tell you where the elk will be. They have a huge range, unlike deer that are very much creatures of habit. If you want a guaranty that the animals will be on the ranch that you hunt, book a high-fenced hunt in Texas. read more

I have gone on about 10 hunts purchased from Urge2Hunt and they have all been wonderful experiences. Not all success, but memorable and wont forget them. Although I haven't hunted with Urge2hunt I can attest to his questionable business practices. I'm local in UT and watch local classifieds to see when a landowner posts mitigation vouchers for sale. In seeing a posting and reaching out to the landowner and arranging for purchase, Serge goes in and offers the landowner more just to secure the tags then offers them up for sale at double the price he paid. Now I understand this is capitalistic society and he has every right to run his business to make money but to do this continually and screwing out the blue collar worker says a lot about him as a person and business. I completely do not doubt any of the negative reviews on this company. read more

I booked the cow elk hunt in Grouse Creek, Utah on the Drake Walker ranch. Was promised/advertised a cow elk hunt on private land with 90% shooting opportunity. Well turns out we weren't even permitted to hunt on private land. We had to hunt public the entire time. We didn't see a single elk. His communication is terrible and we received no support from him or the rancher. My issue is not with the fact that we didn't get anything, my issue is that the advertising is completely false and that he's scamming people out of hard earned money. I went to the gas station one afternoon and asked the locals about elk and they actually physically laughed. I thought they were joking. We hunted hard, and realized we'd been lied to and scammed out of our money. Super disappointed in Serge. He's unwilling to try to make it right under any terms. Have some integrity. I've never left a review like this and I don't like that I have to, but I definitely don't want anyone else to get taken like I did. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Trust the reviews. Was on a cow elk hunt in Utah at Drake Walker ranch, just a horrible experience. Lied to all around from serg to the owner of the ranch, " oh yeah, elk everywhere"... BS We walked all the hunt area and only in one spot ( Haystack hill) did we find any sign at all and it was months old. The rest of the ranch was desolate, nothing, not even sign from years past. This ranch has not seen an elk in years. Serg knows this, he has been told and yet he continues to sell the tags, this says a lot about his character and lack of integrity. Based on this hunt and the lies told I would never book a hunt through this outfit. Read the reviews, they tell the story. Save your money and warn your friends, this guy sucks. read more

serge contacted me after I put out some requests for 2024 tags available this summer. He had a great tag that became available in Nevada. He shared a reference with me and did not oversell what this tag was about. I had the most exceptional experience on this hunt. It was more than a imagined and am glad the tag became available to allow me this opportunity. I was successful in harvesting on this hunt but even if I didn't pull it off the experience was exactly what I was hoping for and beyond. Serge has a client for life!! read more

Booked a 2024 Cow Elk Hunt in Idaho through Urge2Hunt. Serge was extremely responsive and after several back and forth questions/answers I decided to book the hunt. After my deposit was received, I was connected to the Outfitter managing the actual hunt. The Outfitter was also extremely responsive and helpful in setting up the dates as well as answering a number of detail questions I had leading to the hunt. I was fortune that I was able to drive to the property from where I live (Boise). Upon arrival I was greeted by the Outfitter as well as several of the guides. They immediately made me feel at home and a welcomed guest. As advertised, this was 100% on private land and I was fortunate to take a nice cow elk the first morning of the hunt. Several pieces of advice - be in shape, be familiar with your equipment and be prepared (and practiced) for long shots. There are plenty of elk around but they're elk and don't wait around to be shot at. Highly recommend this hunt! read more

Serge will lie through his teeth to sell hunts. The actual hunt was nothing like what he promised. We were promised to be the only 2 hunters that year hunting mule deer on a 10K acre ranch. It turned out to be two 600 acre ranches with 18 other people hunting with the same tags. Yes, 18 other hunters...... They put everyone in blinds where you couldn't see the other clients and wouldn't let us move around to find game. Complete waste of 12K dollars and when confronted about it he offered us two cow elk hunts worth $800 in exchange. THat's an admission of guilt. If it sounds to good to be true it absolutely is with Urge2Hunt. It was the first paid hunt my biddy and I ever went on, complete scam artist we learned the hard way. read more

I AND 4 OTHER HUNTERS DID NOT GET AN ELK and a guide they put me with the first day, left the second day. i discovered this went we went out of the motel. i left some things in his truck so i wouldn't have to cart it back and forth. if they would have told me he was leaving i would have removed it. so i told the person who was in charge, he called him and said there was nothing in the back seat. liar. we also spent most of the day driving back and forth from the motel to the hunt area, because the guides wanted to get lunch and take a break. what a total waste of time. read more

I hate to do this but I have to... Please read and trust the reviews before spending big money with serge from Urge to hunt. I had a terrible experience this month with a $9500 elk hunt near Gunnison Colorado. I was promised a private Elk hunt at the base of the mountains in Colorado. I was told the the bulls were Big and the hunt was great. After putting down the $6000 deposit months before the hunt I could no longer get any information on this hunt. I had to call and text multiple times before anyone would talk to me. I was told the wrong location, ended up booking two hotels because I didn't know where the hunt was. Money was lost. I was told by serge over the phone how great and awesome this hunt was. I was told it was a 5 day hunt. Needless to say when I showed up for the "hunt" I was sorely disappointed. As soon as I showed up they asked for my physical hunter safety card because apparently in Colorado you have to carry one in you. This was NEVER mentioned to me before, even though I asked and tried to get all the info on this hunt. So to hunt I would have to take a 1 day class. Unfortunately this wasn't the bad part. that was just the beginning. I was told to meet the guide at the landowners house. So I did. Within a few minutes I came to realize that the elk "hunt" was right there in his neighborhood. It was not at the base of the mountains, in fact the mountains were 15 miles away. The "hunt" was similar to pulling up to cattle in a field, or horses in corals, and picking one and shooting it. I could see the elk from his house. Maybe 50 acres of land held them Fenced in. It literally felt like I was just going to be shooting someone's pet. The "hunt" could have been over over within minutes! In fact it would have been. Pull up in the truck, pick one, shoot and the get the elk with the tractor. Word for word what the guide told me. The only difficult part of the hunt would be making sure you dont hit a house, mailbox or kid in the neighborhood. Wish I would have know before I took time off work and travels 11 hours to get there. After seeing and realizing this was the hunt, I couldn't go through with it. The outfitter promised me a full refund if I did not want to do the hunt. I talked to serge who also said what I wanted to hear on the phone. I even asked serge if he had ever seen this place and he said NO. I suggest you go look at it serge. Anyway, after taking a week off of work, leaving my deer hunt in Wyoming early, I left Colorado empty handed after being there for 1 hour. Lost money on 2 hotels, week off of work but at least I was told I would get a full refund.... Well, the outfitter refunded his money, but when I tried contacting serge, quests what? No response! Surprise surprise. He lied about the hunt and lied about the refund. Please trust these reviews. Serge is not an honest person. I don't do reviews, but I can't sit by and let other people be tricked out of thousands of dollars. Get a different outfitter! Trust me. read more

Our group used Serg with Urge 2 hunt for a private land mule deer hunt in Utah last year. It was one of the worst hunts I have ever been on. The ranch was over hunted and accommodations were way less than desirable. The hunt was advertised as a private land 20,000 acre ranch where we would see upwards of 100 deer a day. We were only allowed to hunt a small portion (less than 5,000 acres) of the ranch until the end of the 3rd day when the guide showed us how to access the remaining portion of the ranch. But by this time a white out storm moved in allowing no visibility. In 3 days of hunting didn't even see 1 doe. This wasn't my first hunt, I have been hunting private and public land in the Rockies since the late 80's and consider myself to be an avid hunter. We went back to Serg for some assistance in trying to resolve what I feel was the worst private or public land hunt I have ever been on. All we got was a bunch of B.S. and no help. After having this experience I started looking into Urge 2 hunt more and asking around. Come to find out our experience was more common than I thought. I found a couple of other groups of hunters in our local area who had similar experience with Urge 2 Hunt. I would definitely not recommend Urge 2 Hunt to anyone. read more

Utah Cow Elk Hunt! A MUST READ!!!Just got back from this place. And let me tell you, what a place! This ranch was advertised as a walk in the park cow elk hunt with a 95% success rate. While hunting on an entirely private ranch with private alfalfa fields. It sounded so good, my 87 year old grandfather booked 5 tags. All the while, this was thought to be possibly my grandfathers last hunting trip. Moreover, we were also told the elk on the ranch had not been pressured and we were going to be the first hunters on the property. So, after driving 10+ hours and spending all of the necessary vacation days from work, travel expenses, etc. We arrived on our first morning to meet with the ranch hand/ "guide". The "guide" identified himself as Steve and told us that he had hunted elk his entire life and would show us around the ranch. During the first 2 hours of good hunting light, Steve instructed the group to follow him in his extremely loud Polaris ranger while he pointed out the property lines and showed us where the elk were. Upon stopping in the "prime areas", Steve began to speak with no regard for stealthiness. I'm sure all of the big game in the surrounding counties could hear him describe how we should hunt. Also, during that time our group found out that the vast majority of the alfalfa fields do not belong to the ranch as advertised. Only the surrounding hillsides of sage brush do. In addition, Steve said he counted 83 head of elk standing in the location in which he took us to. Moreover, the previous advertisement and hype still had our group of experienced hunters optimistic. The first day was spent primarily by all 6 hunters in the group (1 tag along) glassing the mountains and carefully walking the property in search of elk. However, even though approximately 50 or so deer were spotted, no elk were found. Later discussions with Steve revealed that the elk were in a specific grove of oak trees in a small canyon about 1 mile from the alfalfa field belonging to other owners. In fact, Steve stated, "I guarantee you they are in there." And needless to say, day two of the hunt seemed better. Day two of our hunt started with a few guys getting set at the bottom of the small canyon known to house the elk. While myself and two other hunters drove around the ranch in order to hike through the canyon and drive the elk to our poised positions. While dismounting the vehicle and getting ready to start our hunt. I observed two joggers with a dog on the road we were parked on. They passed us by shortly before a truck with an ATV followed. Then, approximately 5 minutes later, a coyote hunter approached us and told us that the road had in fact been a public access road connecting to local BLM land. This means that the ranch we were hunting was cut in half by a public road and camp ground with all sorts of traffic. In addition, we also located a private shooting range on the other side of the ranch, in the middle of the alfalfa field we were lead to believe was ours to hunt. As previously mentioned, the alfalfa belonged to a different rancher who used the shooting range to practice his long range skills. Using our hunting grounds (sage brush) as a backdrop. During the second day I walked through every square yard of that grove of oak trees. I then walked a good majority of the brushy hillsides that surrounded the non hunt-able alfalfa fields. I had now spent two full days hunting the property and I never observed even one elk track. Nor did I see any elk beds, elk shit, elk rubs...nothing. I also may add that there was a small amount of snow on the ground. The snow had fallen 6 days prior and not one elk track was observed in it. Nor was there evidence of these so called "83 head" of elk where Steve said he observed them. Another later discussion with Steve revealed that he had stretched the truth a bit. On day two of the hunt, Steve mentioned that the outfitter had been on the ranch one week prior. A man by the name of Serge had come to the ranch and killed a cow elk and a deer no more than 6 days prior to our arrival. This was surprising given the fact that Serge himself assured our group that we would be the first hunters on the ranch. It was also baffling to hear this information for the first time in the middle of our hunt. Why wasn't this information shared with us prior to our arrival? In addition to the lack of pertinent information shared to our group. Steve stated that he had seen "a bunch of elk" in the same area we were hunting, the day prior to our current conversation. read more

horrible business ethics. we traveled 27 hours, bought 2 cow tags and then was told Antelope were easy, so I bought the Antelope tag, turned down the Muley doe tag. once we arrived we asked the farmer where they were hitting the fields, we're they still bugling, etc; he said he didn't know, he didn't get up that early. his exact words. he was less than helpful. turns out were staying at his cousins place and he said they're not seeing many elk at all. well we saw now Elk, no Mulies and the Antelope were across the road where we couldn't hunt. the farmer said "they cross back over sometimes" Grouse Creek hunts are a total scam and Serge did nothing to try and even take the sting out. on top of that, he booked another hunter from Bakersfield on the same Ranch. Serge the scam artist. Payed good money for a combo cow elk and doe antelope hunt in Goose Creek Utah. Was quoted 90% success rate. This hunt was during general season elk. There were 2 elk, a cow and a calf. This area is winter range for elk. I'll admit I should of researched more then depend on some scam artist's word. We hunted Walker Family Farms. They advertised cabins to rent. The were tough sheds that leaked like a sieve. Flies everywhere, which is understandable w/cattle ranches, but these sheds weren't built to be fly proof and when the wind blew the door would not stay shut. Also the fee was $150/night, to stay in a shed !!! Buyer beware!!!! Was also quoted Antelope ever where. Few and far between. Communicating w/Drake Walker, the rancher was futile. My partner and have been hunting big game for 40+ years. So it was not our like of skills or knowledge that left us high and dry!!!! They also wanted $500 dollars for guide services. My friend and I were sold a bull elk hunt which included a mule deer landowner tag on a 10K acre private ranch. We were told the landowner only got 2 deer tags and we were going to be the only people hunting deer for the 2019 season. Our primary focus was bull elk. The outfitter turned out to be primary a deer outfit with bull elk being a bonus if they happen to be on the land. The 10K acre ranch turned out to be 3-4 small 5-600 acre ranches that had 9 people per day hunting mule deer in blinds or staying stationary in cover. We could literally see the other hunters some of the days that were within 500y of us. No wonder we weren't allowed to move around the properties. On top of that with so much pressure only one mature mule deer was spotted at 700y away the entire time. We only spotted a few cow elk twice on the trip. We were either lied to about the hunt or Serge somehow mixed up our hunt with another. I contacted him after the hunt and for compensation was offed $600 off a late season cow elk hunt. Such a shame we ended up spending about 18K total on this trip and came home with empty coolers and the complete opposite hunt that was sold to us. I'm very disappointed Urge2hunt does not stand behind his word or the hunt that was sold to us. I'll have to chalk this up as a very expensive, hard learned lesson. I don't usually like to call out businesses on social media, but I can't stand when people take advantage of others. read more
