Highly recommend sending your child here! I've been sending my oldest here for years now and she's learned so many valuable skills on how to take care of animals and herself if ever in the wild. She especially loves the horse and archery program. All the years we've been here the staff has been nothing but nice and welcoming! Our kids love this camp! We signed them up this summer not quite knowing what to expect and every hope was met and exceeded. They love their counselors, the animals, the activities, everything. They can't contain themselves at pick up, telling me everything about their day. We're glad they have year round programming because I don't think they could handle waiting until next summer to return. read more

My friend told me about this place. We homeschool and my son is on spectrum. I was SO excited at the potential of my son going here because they actually have a special needs homeschool class! As a special needs parent, this is such a wonderful thing to find a place that makes a point to include our children. We went on a tour of the facility that took about 30 mins. My son is a very curious and new environments are often a lot for him to take in. Many kids on spectrum are this way. I explained to the teacher that he usually calms down as he knows the environment and the rules. She told me that in more difficult cases, aids are needed to attend class with the child. This makes sense. It's also posted on their website, so I was already expecting that. However, what I was not expecting was a long email after our tour that went through every single thing my son did wrong... I know he was having struggles. I was there! But to regurgitate everything and then continue to list everything I would have to provide in order for you to consider him is a bit uncalled for. It's definitely not how you handle special needs parents who are already told what's wrong with their kid on nearly a daily basis. A better approach would be to tell me ways you can help him work on these skills or how you can work with me to find ways to accommodate him. Maybe even tell me something you liked about him and why you would like him in your class.. Special needs kids are all going to come with their own set of challenges. So to have a special needs class with only one teacher and expect the children to be on their best behavior on their very first time there is a bit overreaching. Consider having a teacher with a helper and being a bit more positive to parents who try their best every day. Don't be another person putting our children down or making them not feel worthy of having the same experience as other, non-disabled children. read more

My son had the introductory archery class here. Instructor was really nice and laid back. He was also young and related well to an 8 year old without losing track of safety basics. My son really enjoyed the class. They let us wander the property a bit too before the class started (we arrived early). Ponies, chickens, goats, and a peacock in full display! My son started going to Sienna Ranch at age 4 and has gone to several programs over the years, both during the school year as well as summer camp. This place is great! It's big so it takes some time to get to know the staff but they're wonderful with the kids, my son loves it and we have had all of our needs met as parents (communication, pick up/drop off, etc.) And I have been super impressed with their policies during covid; They are a well-oiled machine and I love how seriously they take it and how successful their social distance programs have been. Overall I am very pleased with, and grateful for, Sienna Ranch. 5 stars for sure! read more

My daughter has enjoyed it but today she came home with a HUGE gash on her head. She said she got hurt by running into a large tree branch (okay not the most aware girl haha!). She said she was crying so hard that she could hardly breathe. The teacher apparently didnt ask if she was okay and obviously didnt offer an ice pack-the bump is huge, red and raw. So this is pretty annoying. Parents should be informed if their child is injured and proper care should be demonstrated. There are a lot of ticks here which you can expect in nature. The forms they send before camp state they do daily tick checks. They havent done one for our daughter or any of her friends that she is doing camp with. Otherwise my daughter is enjoying the camp. I do feel they need to be more responsible for the safety of the children. read more

My daughter wanted to ride a horse for her birthday. She also wanted a party where all of her friends could wear pajamas. I decided that if we could find a place where a horse was a possibility, we would absolutely go with that choice. Sienna Ranch was a perfect match! We hosted my daughter's 6th birthday here with about 12 of her friends. They had a blast! Horses, chickens, goats, oh my! What else could you ask for? Even with a bit of rain that day, the kids came out in their rain jackets and rain boots ... and had a great time. Several of the kids are still talking about how much fun this was. I went with some friends of mine to use the archery range. We were are beginners and the instructor was very good and made sure we had a good time while staying safe. He also said we were his only group of students that were adults. But hey, adults dig Katniss Everdeen, too. read more

This place is pretty awesome. I took my 4 year old during Xmas break for one day. I have since never heard the end of it, and same goes for other people. She told everyone about what she did and it clearly made an impression. I knew for summer that i had to get on it and sign her up. The place books fast. She was committed in the summer by march when they open up the scheduling. They do everything farm related. They come home dirty. They have stories. They have a great time. Couldn't be happier. It is the priciest camp i've seen. So keep in mind. But i do recommend exposing your children if you can, even if it's one week. So glad this place is close to home :) read more

This is a great birthday party option for those looking to get away from screens and jump houses and the overall madness of indoor party spots. We had my daughter's 10th birthday party here in November. The activities were enjoyable for all the kids - from making their own tea from the herb garden to building a shelter of fallen branches. A nice space for gifts and cake. Calm, friendly instructors. Overall, we were extremely pleased to find Sienna Ranch and will likely use them again for a future party. The only thing that kept this from a four star review was the price - $300 for just 10 kids total was rather steep. Still, the money is supporting an outdoor education and environmental experience, so that's a heck of a lot better than Chuck E Cheese's or places of that ilk. read more

Repeated requests for a refund! It has been over two weeks... I paid for a class and reserved a spot on the waitlist for 3 others of the same class with the comment that I wanted to enroll my kids in the same class. I wrote them two days later to cancel - the $ has not even cleared in my account. It has now been two weeks and they have not refunded my money and want to charge me a $25 fee per reservation ($100!). This is for equestrian class which are all taken so I'm sure more people will sign up. read more

I highly recommend taking your kids to Sienna Ranch. I have two boys who do the summer, winter and Thanksgiving camps, they absolutely love it! They get to milk goats, make goat cheese and goat lotion, learn to take care of horses, cook from the well-kept garden, work with wood, hold chickens, take hikes and more. All the classes are hands on and playful and go on rain or shine. They have had all the instructors who are all really knowledge and friendly and genuinely like the kids and want to explore with them. I especially recommend Sophia and Cody. My eldest also took archery and really enjoyed that. And my 6 year-old recently had a Cowboy Ranch Birthday Party complete with games and a hike to the tree-house playground. It is really amazing how much Sienna Ranch has to offer, so many activities and experiences for my boys, I don't go anywhere else! read more

We had my daughter's birthday party here--the Horse grooming and pony ride party. There were four staff members that worked the small party. The kids got a lesson on how to approach a horse safely and then they got to brush them and braid their hair. Half the party then went for rides, while one of the staff had the others decorate a keepsake fabric bag and do face painting--and then the groups switched activities. I thought it was a relaxed and well-run event. I appreciate that the staff didn't run us out right at the ending time (it is hard to get kids to go home). I hadn't seen a review of birthday parties, so I would strongly recommend the pony party for local birthday events. Plan early though--I requested in August and got a date for November! read more

Be aware! Not cool! This ranch is advertising to sell ("dump") their old horses on Craiglist at low prices! A 32 year old lesson horse with arthritis that has been on ranch for a decade is now he's being offered for sale at a low low price (more likely to end up in slaughter pipeline at that price and age). Poor business practice! Sad for loyal horses that served so many years to be discarded like that. read more

My five year old daughter took two different summer camps here and it was such a wonderful experience for her. The atmosphere is calming, the staff are down to earth and best of all, my daughter came home dirty and tired (in a good way!). She was able to spend time outside, go on hikes and interact with animals up close. She loves animals and she loved getting to milk the goat, handle the baby chicks and feed the baby goat. They did a lot of different art projects that I remember fondly from my childhood such as making lanyards and candles. My daughter now wants to take a class during the school year. I highly recommend Sienna Ranch and we look forward to exploring their other programs. Thanks so much! read more

My son comes here weekly and has learned an incredible amount about nature and survival skills. He's much more in tune with his natural surroundings than I ever was. He also gets to go on lovely hikes. His instructors are incredible and nurturing. Highly recommend this place. read more

My two children (5 and 9) just finished a week of camp at Sienna Ranch. It was their best week all summer. They both loved it! The staff are professional, educated, nurturing and genuinely interested in children and teaching them all the outdoors have to offer while encouraging kids to try new things and expand their horizons. My daughter just had her 10th birthday party here. So easy and such a lovely place - it's not huge but that makes it easier to keep track of the kids and there's plenty of hands-on interaction with the animals and play space to keep the kids occupied. The main event was to ride a horse/pony and we were worried that it would be cancelled due to heavy rain the night before but they ended up taking us over to a bigger (and drier) area. While one child was riding, the rest were busy at a fun play structure (rope swings and regular swings). I had nothing to do but gaze at the rolling hills and Mt. Diablo in the distance. Then the kids got to groom a horse, brush the goats and hold the chickens which were all great. The ranch staff Amanda was great with the girls. We had pizza delivered from their recommended place, brought cupcakes and lemonade, Sienna ranch gave out party favors, the girls played on a different structure for a little bit after eating and we were done! Timing was all just right... enough to get their fill of petting but not so long they start getting distracted. read more

The other kids there that I saw were incredibly polite and friendly- really impressed with the crowd. Organized drop off. Sounded like a lot of fun and creative stuff from what my daughter told me. The ranch is nice and the activities are age appropriate however their policies are draconian. There is NO wiggle room at all for drop offs and pickups. You must be there at the EXACT specified time to drop off / pick up your child otherwise you get charged a ridiculous fee. So let me get this straight, I show up at 2 minutes pass the etched in stone pick up time because I am waiting in line behind all the cars/parents to pick up my kid and you charge me $10.00, yet if I get there early I can not pick up my child? I guarantee this is a way for them to pad the bottom line by charging working parents more money; parents that have few other options once they've signed up for camp. Do yourself a favor and send your child to a different camp; it will be far cheaper because other camps in the area do not have such punitive fee's. read more

My kids have been going to Sienna Ranch for years. The camp counselors are second to none. We are so fortunate to have access to this working ranch. We have done a variety of the camps and my kids also take private horseback riding lessons. If you're expecting your child to be put on the back of a horse and start doing advanced stuff, this place is not for you. They use a life-long approach to horsemanship that includes learning about horses and their care, building relationships with the horses and also riding. Safety is a top priority here so children's advancement is based on their proficiency not a schedule. I feel very comfortable with this teaching style and recommend it to anyone who is looking for the same. read more

We went to Sienna Ranch for Mother's Day. I called and was told this would be a great experience for my 15 month old. It was not. This is a great experience for older kids, probably 3+, but my child was unable to experience many of the events. Communication prior was poor. I contacted the Ranch to let them know how disappointed I was to have spent so much money and not be able to participate in much, if anything at all, and was basically told, "sorry, we wish you would have read the email" (that I never received but their system shows as sent). I am pretty displeased over all and do not recommend this establishment for kids under 3 and would recommend it with much hesitation for kids over 3. read more

We attended one of their family days. We were so disappointed. For $85 we had much, much higher expectations. In total, we got a hay ride for five people (two 3 minute loops around the property), three of us got to fire 4 arrows, we petted a couple goats, looked at some chickens, and three of us were able to ride ponies for under 3 minutes around a loop. We skipped the hike as it was too steep for our 2 year old. The property is much smaller than I anticipated and the activity station was unmanned. For $85!! Maybe if all the activities were unlimited and lunch was included. But we came away feeling ripped off. read more

We held our daughter's birthday party at Sienna Ranch. Nestled in the hills, the beautiful ranch property has lots of horses, goats, chickens and impressive food gardens. Our party had a horseback riding theme. The kids had a blast! Karen and her team kept the kids' interest the entire time! The party included a crafts session, a safety talk, time to curry the horses and bead their manes, a mini riding lesson and time to ride the hoses in the ring. We had our own picnic area for grilling and had our birthday cake under the oaks. Our birthday girl said "Best Birthday Ever!" I highly recommend Sienna Ranch for a birthday party adventure to remember! read more

We just had my daughter's 7th birthday there. It was great! We chose the petting animals and garden activites. The staff were all very friendly, the place is well kept and it was very lush with flowers! The animal enclosures were big and clean and not over crowded. They had baby goats!!!! The staff did well with keeping 8 girls focused and interested in what they were doing. The animals they pet were chickens, goats, a bunny and they brushed a pony. In the garden, they made flower crowns(super cute), played a garden bingo game and made mint camomile tea. After that we had enough time for snacks/cake and presents. It was a perfect party if your looking to do something different and don't have to plan much! I would definitely do sienna ranch again for party! read more
