Who is driving and what license do they have to legally drive these vehicles. Summer camps really don't have a lot of oversight regarding standards and accountability. It's up to us parents to research and make sure the people supervising our children are competent, trustworthy, and ALWAYS put the their safety first.

I understand that the camp has a high number of kids the last week of summer, but it should not compromise their overall experience. I had to pick them up early because they literally had nothing to do. I am a working mom and was really hoping this camp would have worked out for them for the next day. While the director spoke to me initially, she was rude, condescending, and unapproachable. All I got were excuses. I left a message with HQ and NEVER heard back from them. I asked them to review the phone call transcripts because the site director was incredibly inappropriate, spoke to me in a rude tone, and talked over me. I repeat that no one from HQ ever got back to me about my valid concerns or addressed the director's lack of follow-through with on-site protocol. My 12 year old is mad they did this to my 10 year old because my 10 yo repeated something another kid said, but said it sarcastically back to the kid. The initial offender who meant the remark never was punished. Instead, they thought the right thing to do was to lock my child in a room by HIMSELF for over 3 hours and not call me. He was screaming the whole time, per my other child and his friends from the camp. Think about that. My child was screaming alone in a room by himself and was not allowed to come out, nor was I called. For a little sarcastic comment he made. I am amazed that the director is still working there. This is a travesty, and she is abuaive and incompetent. We will certainly never return.

Our daughter had her first experience with Lamorinda Theatre Academy this summer for one of their…read moresummer camps. She loved it and she really wants to come back for classes in the fall! It was a 3 week camp, 4 hours a day. In that short time, they produced a kids play...The Jungle Book...from start to finish, complete with singing, dancing, costumes and sets. It was amazing what they were able to accomplish. And the quality of that production was impressive...much higher than any of the other school plays or park district programs we have seen. Each day, the kids took "classes" in acting, singing, and dancing, but with plenty of time for play, games, and camp type activities. Renee, Rena, and Amy are very good with the kids. And the amount of care, creativity, and love that they put into their business really shows. The difference it made in our daughter, after just 3 weeks was amazing. She made new friends that she wants to keep in touch with. She is a little less shy than she used to be. And she sings and dances a lot more, even when she knows people are watching. I think it will be the highlight of her summer. And I think Lamorinda Theatre Academy's program will be a very good influence on her growth, poise, and confidence, and will be a lot of fun for her!
