I came here to try archery for the first time. It was pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon with a few people popping into the shop for some purchases, but my group was the only one using the range. -Indoor range use with rental $50 per person -10-minute primer/refresher for rentals $10 per person So my total cost was $60 per person -If you already have your gear, it is $20 per person for all day use of the indoor range Easy to follow education and instructions provided. The employee handed us equipment that was well-fitting (arm guard, finger tab, bow size) so we didn't have to make any adjustments. He made us feel confident and at ease despite working with something on the more dangerous side. I had a lot of fun and a great experience. My arms did get tired though so I wasn't there for too long. The price is a bit too steep for me to go regularly, so I wish they offered some other pricing options like paying by the hour. read more

This place is LEGIT! My son was into making his own bows and arrows and along the journey of learning I offered to take him into the Marin Archery Shop to buy some practice arrows but also to get some interaction with experienced archers. I'm glad I did. When we went in it is a very nice looking shop with range next door. The associate working there were really top notch. We talked to a young man and he gave us all types of insight into not just his bow crafting but other aspects of archery. He even joked around about breaking your first bow like breaking up with your first girlfriend. It had me rolling! Anyways we talked, bought a few things here and there and went home. We were so impressed with the experience that I brought the whole family back another time and another associate gave my youngest a crash course in archery and she shot her first arrow in their kids area! They had a few competition bows on hand and we talked about that but the reason we were there is to get a professionally made bow. Their selection is excellent and have many different styles of bows from the korean horse style bows, recurves, compounds and the more traditional longbows. We carefully selected the proper size and picked up the necessary supporting pieces. All in all we had an amazing experience both times and I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by if you are into archery! read more

It wasnt worth the 1 hour drive with how the customer service was handled. The sign says OPEN but the store was closed. We have to call to make sure before we left. Finally we were able to get in touch with the person on the other line. We wanted to but a complete set of Bows but looks like he was not in the mood to sell nor accomodate us. Both of them were not so accomodating and i felt like we were begging for them to sold us anything. Highly not recommended for people who wants to get their first set of Bows and Arrows. read more

This place is my new go to for everything archery related. After a poor experience getting setup for my first compound bow, I came to Marin for a second opinion. Almost didn't want to continue shooting due to shoulder and neck pain. After working with Scott (very knowledgeable) for a little, he readjusted my bow to correctly fit me. He walked me through the corrective adjustments that needed to be made. It was a night and day experience coming from a shop that wasn't hands on at all. My only regret is not giving the original business to this shop in the first place. Plan on taking lessons and being a repeat customer. read more

For some reason one star is going up even though I pressed all five I'm going to contact Yelp immediately and get that fixed We were recently driving past the Civic Center exit (North San Pedro Road), going southbound on 101 and I saw your sign up on the side of the road. I let out a bit too much of an exuberant whooop!!!! I am so excited for you guys, congratulations!!! For those who need to know, the guys who run this place are amazing, absolutely amazing!!! I came in about a year or so after suffering from a serious injury which has been keeping me inactive. Ths There was a lot I could not do and I still can't do and within 10 minutes of walking in to burn archery I had a bow in my hand encouragement and even a bit of homework. That homework was to look up a guy by the name of Matt Stutzman, He is a champion archer and he has no arms, watching him is an inspiration. At first I had a particular bow in mind and I expressed what bow I was interested in and within a few minutes all the boxes were checked off on why I shouldn't be buying that type of bow. There was no judgment, it was just facts. And I love people who make common sense..common! I walked out with a beautiful bow, A handful of arrows and some other equipment as well as a soft case for my bow! That bow has really helped fill in a lot of downtime and I will be forever grateful to these guys for just being good people. I am 100% confident that if you walk through the doors of this business you will be treated right. I wish you guys all of the best success possible. I know Scott from when he lived in SF and worked at the archery shop out by the range in Golden Gate Park (which I have not visited for over a year now since I moved to Oakland) so I was pleasantly surprised to see him at his new location when I brought my compound in a few weeks ago to have it restrung. My Father, Husband, and I had stopped in after doing a bit of shooting just to scope out the place. We have been looking for a decent place to cater to our archery needs and we ended up spending a lot more time than we anticipated here. Scott was extremely awesome, he took his time answering our questions and educating us. At no point did we feel pressured to buy anything (there was no intention to just make a sale from us) but we ended up purchasing a recurve bow, quiver, and some arrows (we even shot some more once we returned home we were so pleased). Marin archery is a fantastic shop. The owner " Scott" is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He took 30 mins an explained some archery skills having to do with an accessory I wanted to buy. What a gem of a place! My fiance and I wanted to try a bit of archery to blow off steam in the evenings, so we decided to hunt around for shops in the Bay Area. As complete beginners, we were nervous we'd be greeted by people who treated us as "archery yuppies". Not the case at Marin Archery Shop! Where many archery shops are all about hunting and compound bows, Marin Archery has a happy medium between compound and trade archery. This place is great! Scott was super attentive and not at all elitist when it came to answering my simple questions. As a beginner, there couldn't have been less pressure to buy and a more welcoming atmosphere. Scott stayed open late on TWO occassions to help me choose a bow and set it up for me. I came to Marin archery as a beginner and was greeted Scott, the owner who was happy to make a sale but very full of himself . I have to say it was pretty intimidating for a woman new to the sport, I felt uninvited and like I was wasting his time. Come to find out I was sold inserts that weren't made for my arrows and that they turned out to be dangerous, as they literally broke in my hand and could have gone through my wrist. I was later informed that the arrows were in fact for a recurve bow, I shoot a compound bow, and that those arrows were typically used for children who shoot at a lower poundage. I feel completely duped and very frustrated that I wasted my hard earned money on equipment that was not safe and inappropriate for my bow, not to mention I overpaid (by about $30?!). All in all I would not recommend this store, a real disappointment as I was so excited to have an archery store in San Anselmo. read more
