The Coliseum rocks my (soccer) socks! I was recently pure-pressured into joining the soccer team at my school. I finally caved in and decided to join. My good friend recommended the Coliseum to purchase my soccer gear and I had a great experience! The store is right off of the San Pedro exit on Highway 101 in San Rafael. It's a relatively small store, but they carry a large selection of merchandise. When I arrived, the employee working fit me for cleats. He was incredibly helpful and gave great suggestions for styles that fit my very narrow feet. I finally decided on a pair of Nike women's cleats, which were the last pair on sale (score!) He also helped me pick out a few pairs of socks and shin guards. I really appreciate all of the help from the crew at the Coliseum. I found everything that I was looking for during my visit and I plan to return for future purchases. If you're looking into buying gear in bulk, I was told that they offer discounts to teams. Big and flash looking store, looks the part. Came in with my son on the weekend looking for a pair of boots, place was dead apart from the sales person. Nothing over a size 12, getting that information was like pulling teeth without anesthetic and no suggestions when asked where to go. Want soccer gear?? I paid $ 173, I do not remember the real value. inadmissible an adidas world cup boot will be of poor quality. I hope someone responsible for adidas does something. I understand people have to Make money but man the owner sparks up the prices like crazy. Simple Nike shoes sold on the nike store at $89.99 sold here for like $150. Jerseys online from Nike $90 bucks here at $160. This is all brand. Long store short don't shop here. Overpriced and you can find online much cheaper. read more

The Coliseum is great! I was on a hunt for foldable goals and found this store on Yelp. I called and Raul explained they had three sizes. My son was turning six and is a soccer fanatic. With a household rooting for Argentina and Holland, I--with great joy--found a Dutch kids jersey set (jersey, shorts, socks). They even had a K.N.V.B. top for me and loads of Arsenal, Argentina, Man U gear. I also picked up a set of the two-foot goals. Raul helped everyone in the store and was very attentive, despite being alone for the whole floor. I purchased a pump but later realized I needed only the needles. When I returned same day, he happily processed an exchange and sold me the needles I needed. Wonderful experience. Excellent for soccer fans... lots of Mexico and USA gear along with club teams and the favorites. They can also put names/numbers on the back of jerseys and likely other gear. Ok this is long overdue..as a local youth soccer coach and soccer referee for the last 4 years both..The Coliseum is a great resource for your needs. Raul the manager is a great guy and very professional and friendly, attentive..as someone who has done retail in my past and as a consumer for many years now..I appreciate him on all levels..he is a huge asset and cares. I learned about The Coliseum about 2 years ago..I was like man can''t believe I've driven by here a million times..anyways..they have a great variety of items for fans, coaches and refs..pricing is competitive in my humble opinion and I'm "as smart shopper" Every place hikes up prices..rarely can a physical retail location compete with online presence so about the reviewer who made comment about pricing and online ..it's a simple matter of overhead..we're paying for physical space locally presence which is convenience to see touch try on and walk out of thr store wit product in hand..plus supporting local small business economy is a great thing..I'm for online but if not careful..that's all we'll have at some point.. As for the kid and loud music review..I've been there many many times in last 2 years..and Raul when there has music at normal level..guess that's a kid being a kid ..it does not represent the store and it's culture..and the reviewer is painting a false picture of this place and perhaps on purpose or not on purpose..the atmosphere is great in this store..at 47 I do not want bump bump Foot Locker atmosphere.. Best Soccer Shop in the Bay Area. Has a name press, all the big jerseys both club and international. Has the higher grade boots and equipment. On top of all of that, it has everything a coach needs (mini goals, cones, nets, ball bags...etc etc). The owner is a very friendly guy and is always willing to do his best to make his customers happy. I work down the street and stop by as often as i can. Always pick up stuff from my team ARSENAL. Our daughter plays a lot of soccer so we splurged and bought her some very expensive Nike cleats ($300) from the Coliseum thinking they would wear well. Unfortunately the sole started tearing away from the shoe after about 2 months. After being used for 4 months the sole of the cleat had a split across the entire cleat. When we went in to replace them, I expected that given the extent of the cleat failure and cost of the shoe, the Coliseum would apologize and take back the shoe for a credit to pay for the replacement cleats. Instead, the manager said I could take care of it by returning the shoes to Nike.com. They could return the shoe to Nike as well but I was told that the upper management of The Coliseum had mandated that they can only take shoes back after 30 days. Of course, the return process to Nike.com takes weeks and results in a Nike.com credit. My daughter has an ODP tournament in early January so we need to buy cleats now. As a result, we have no way to apply the cost of the failed shoes toward the replacement cleats. To add insult to injury, when I continued to push on the issue, the manager said that "the cleat failure was caused by toe drag" implying a $300 show falling apart after 4 months of play was caused by my daughter dragging her toe too much. As if, toe dragging is not a normal part of playing soccer! read more

We shop here all the time because it's true only option in marin. The service is mostly mediocre at best as the young guy is more interested in standing behind the counter and watching tv. The older guy is attentive and helpful but he is rarely there. My biggest problem is the extremely loud dub step music that is blasting. Gives me a migraine and I just want to get the hell out. A suggestion is to turn down the music and t me to the customers. read more

The Coliseum is the BEST football(soccer) shop in Marin. The amount of merchandise is unparalleled, and remarkably, the prices are very fair, sometimes even the same as online stores. That's unheard of. They have jerseys/jackets/merch from all your favorite teams. They have a huge selection of shoes, indoor, turf and AG/FG. They carry mid and top level boots so there is something for those folks who can't afford the best, but also top class for those who can and want the best. Most stores in the area carry low to midlevel, and we have to order online, not the Coliseum (and if you know football boots, you know that you really need to try them on or you could end up with blisters or crushed toes). They also must deal directly with Adidas, because they have the latest Adidas on release, so I don't have to wait for the distributors to get it, then ship it to the stores. When the new Manchester United gear is released, I go there, i pick it up. Even if that wasn't enough... Raul and Eric, the gentlemen who run the shop, are always helpful, and consistently go the extra mile when I ask for something. Raul has even done research off hours when i called close to closing, and made sure to get an item from the other shop, so it was there first thing when i needed it. The Coliseum is a little hard to find and get to or they would be the busiest most popular store in Marin. If you are a footballer, or your kids are footballers, MAKE THE TRIP, FIND THE STORE and i promise you will get the best gear for the best price with the absolute best service in Marin. read more
