The store offers a wide selection of sports, leisure, and camping gear, making it a one-stop shop for all outdoor enthusiasts. Shopping here feels fun and convenient, with everything neatly organized and easy to browse. Great value and discount offers. Plus, the welcoming atmosphere makes it a great spot to get excited about your next adventure! Staff: the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help us find exactly what we needed.

That was my experience last night at Sports Basement. I was there for an in-store event (so much fun!) and decided to sneak away from the party for a few minutes to finally research a backpack I've been needing -- one strong and comfortable enough to serve as my Wildfire Go-Bag. Every employee I spoke with was helpful and upbeat. Paul, in the backpack section, was exceptional. He listened carefully to what I needed, explained the differences between models, and taught me how to fit a pack properly so it wouldn't strain my back. Within 20 minutes! After trying the first, I was astonished how comfortable the second was: the Osprey Aura AG LT 50. It's a mid-range pack that fit my body better than the Osprey Renn 50. It feels supportive, and the deep burgundy color is stunning. It's even adjustable, so if for some reason someone else needs to carry my bag, it can be adapted to protect their back, too. Thanks to the event's 20% discount, I was able to get the ideal match for my needs at the price of a lower-range model that didn't fit me as well. Paul also suggested a couple of brilliant extras--like the portable Cleanwaste toilet kit and the Katadyn BeFree water filter. For my wildfire go-bag, they're exactly the kinds of things that will make a difference. I appreciated how thoughtful and practical his recommendations were. It's rare to leave a store feeling both educated and excited about a purchase -- but that's exactly how I felt. Huge thanks to the team at Sports Basement for being so kind, informed, and genuinely invested in helping people prepare for real-life adventures (and emergencies) with confidence.

With a mix of consignment clothing and manufacturer samples, MOTC is a small, local shop with an enticing mix of offerings. Even though the consignment clothing would never count as cheap, every piece appears to be in great shape with no evidence of wear. The sample pieces, still sporting manufacturer tags, also sport a huge discount off their recommended sales price. I picked up a pre-worn, stylish fleece from The North Face for $30 and felt that price was reasonable and returned home to tell my son he should check the place out for the sort of outdoor men's pants he likes. The array of offerings is not dissimilar from what one finds at REI, but on a much smaller scale. There's other outdoor stuff here too - including a proprietor with whom one can engage in for everything fishing related. Despite its size, the store features clothes for all ages and genders as well as outdoor equipment. Whether you've outgrown something or just want something new or gently worn, if you're seeking outdoor clothing and like those name brands, MOTC should be on your radar.

I had a difficult criteria and she was not phased, met the challenge, and exceeded expectations. She's a great inventory of shoes, clothing, and accessories. I went (excitedly so) to my first ever pointe fitting at another store in San Francisco (won't drop any names). I got home and thought...you know...not once in my whole appointment did I ever get over the box. I get that I'm new to pointe but...is that normal? I also was given toe pads, a big toe cap, and toe spacers. And told because my feet are 2 slightly different sizes I'd probably need to buy 2 pairs of shoes (I did not). All this to say I tried on my shoes at home, filmed myself...and cried. THE FIT WAS AWFUL. I called Bourree and explained the entire scenario - asking if I could come in and show the shoe I'd been sold elsewhere. If they agreed with the shoe - great! I'd pay a fitting fee. If we could find something better - even better! I get new shoes. Staff spent over an hour with me going shoe by shoe. It was amazingly thorough, and SO personal. They really made me feel like a valid dancer with valid concerns and a future on pointe - rather than adult student. I probably tried 10+ shoes and NONE were a similar shape...or size...to what I'd been sold elsewhere. We also reduced my padding ...and I somehow felt MORE comfortable! I started with Nikolay nova flex in size 5 XXXX. I walked out of Bourree with Bloch Euro Stretch size 6.5 X. Talk about a difference. I immediately got over the box. No sickling, no wobbly ankles, just confidence and reassurance that IM not the problem - a "bad" fitting was. Pointe is expensive but I do appreciate the loyalty program the store has! You're getting the best bang for your buck you're ever going to get with pointe shoes. From the bottom of my heart thank you to Bourree for making me feel like a ballerina.
