My favorite word in English is Apple. Don't tell Anyone!

If you ever want to be alone, utterly happy and alone and almost shoot a cow. Go fishing. At Lake Margaret you will miss Ron and Bigfoot, but you won't miss the amazing splendor that is fishing.

The group has provided amazing hunting opportunities in California to have pleasurable hunts, with not a lot of others around. The state hunts can be combat style. We are proud to have the ability to hunt on our terms with integrity of hunting! Manny has made all our membership questions/needs handled with immediate responses. Our family is proud to be apart of WU

Sawyer and I checking out after an awesome morning

I am a brand-new member in 2025. I had grown tired of the public land hustle and wanted a better experience for my family. We just completed our first W.U. hunt, harvesting a nice turkey on a beautiful property. The density of other hunters was appropriate for the property size and everyone we met was kind, respectful, and there for the hunt. Manny has been a pleasure to deal with and has helped me navigate all new member issues.

This review is an ode to my pops and WU. WU and hunting has been a part of my life even before I was born. My family, the Alcantar family, have been founding member since March 1st, 1987. Started with my grandpa, then my dad, and now me. My dad, Mario Alcantar Sr, just passed and WU was an essential part of his life and second family. He made so many connections and friends hunting the properties and some pretty damn good game too. WU was such a big part of his life that I can spot that symbol from a mile away and know there's family there. Reasons my dad was so successful with game at this club is due to the connections and I've seen some reviews and I know times change and properties change. The one thing that never changed was the passion my dad had. He would converse with other members and staff at properties and get the low on everything. Then use his own skills to put together and find the game he was hunting. My dad never shy'd away from helping other members with info or even breaking bread at camp. That was always the most fun meeting other members and meeting back at camp for stories and food. That is the most beautiful part of this club. You don't need fancy data or reports. You needed to just help each other out when you're out there and make a friend. My fondest memories with my dad were at properties just me and him sipping on an ice cold diet Dr Pepper. Listening to nature and just being outdoors. I'm grateful my dad was an amazing hunter and he had a skill like no other. I can guarantee the members he came across and made friends with came home with game because of him, or left with an amazing recipe to try from their game. It was sad to make the call to cancel his membership but Manny made the process so easy for me and went out of the way to waive the rest of his membership fees for him. The staff have always been amazing from the office to field. If you're coming here to the reviews looking to sign up, use this as a YOU SHOULD button. It's a private hunting club for a reason, you get to hunt privately and with like minded people on beautiful land. WU has great hunts, great properties, and ultimately great members. Next time you're at a property and want success, be like my dad and just make a friend out there. You never know what could come out of that experience and learn from each other.

She asked me if we could go to their performance of "In the Heights", Lin-Manuel's fantastic musical that preceded Hamilton. "In the Heights", put on by Plethos Productions, is the first play at this venue, but they host a lot of other creative and interesting things. I am now following them and plan to check out some other events. We all thoroughly enjoyed "In the Heights". What a great show! Several of the performers are outstanding talents, and all of the production company is full of passion and enthusiasm. The venue is intimate, 50 seats, general seating. They offered beer, wine, horchata, tacos, coffee and more for sale at the event. All very reasonably priced. Only downside... a single restroom. Plan ahead, timing is everything, folks. I'm so pleased to have "discovered" this little gem I've walked by many times! Thanks, Little M.

The historical architecture and elegance immediately stood out to us. From the high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams to the stunning chandeliers and large windows that fill the space with natural light. We also took advantage of the golf course at hole 11, where the sunset provided a truly breathtaking backdrop for photos. Another major reason we chose this venue was the exceptional communication and organization. Andrea and Sally were incredibly responsive, always answering our questions promptly and thoroughly. I was in Rotaract…read moreall through my undergrad years at UC Davis, so I decided to check out my local chapter here in Central Alameda County (AKA San Leandro, Hayward, Castro Valley). Not only did I become extremely involved with all 3 cities' communities, I also became family with all the Rotaract members in the club. Some background info about Rotaract: Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored international service club for young men and women, ages 18-30. Rotaract is comprised of college students, graduate students, young professionals, and innovative, lively, and compassionate community leaders. Rotaract combines community work along with professional development skills. We are part of an international family with Rotary, Interact, Interwheel, Youth Exchange, and Youth Scholars personally committed to serving our local, national, and international community. This local chapter, Rotaract CAC, was only chartered in June 2012, so we're a fairly young club, but don't let that fool you. Last year I served as Community Service Director and as a club, we accomplished roughly 800 service hours with fewer than 20 charter members within a year. That year we also fundraised enough to prevent 1,500 babies in Africa from childhood AIDS through congenital transmission from our international service project: Child AIDS Prevention (CAP) project with Los Altos Rotary. We also did a continual joint Adopt-A-School project at the Melrose Leadership Academy in Oakland with the Oakland Sunrise Club. We're quite a busy club so there is always an opportunity to come out, meet us, and join our events :) Flash forward to the present: I am now the current president and all I can tell you is that our club only gets more ambitious and passionate with time! It's only 4 months into my term and we have already reached our fundraising goal for CAP to save 2,000 children's lives and we have collected 2,200 toothbrushes for our current International Project: Smile Kits, where we are sending 5,000+ donated toothbrushes to rural schools and orphanages in Mindanao, Philippines through philanthropy missions. I could probably gush on about all the awesome service projects (my favorite part), socials, and professional networking we do, but you'll just need to come check it out yourself. Hope to see you out there and welcome to the Rotaract family :D

My husband, son and I went and it was a wonderful experience. She hugged us: first son, then son +husbnad, then son+ husband+me. I didn't know what to expect but it was quite moving. If you visit when Amma is here, you get an intro video that explains her work (impressive), some meditation (nice). Newbies are invited to sit at the front and you get hugged early on. After that, you can shop the visiting vendors and buy some yummy food they set up outside. The grounds are beautiful too. Try to arrive early. Identify yourself to the greeters as a first-time visitor. Amma's volunteers do lots of interesting things on site when she isn't here: gardening, making food for those in need, recycling projects. They also COOK FOOD AND DELIVER IT EVERY SATURDAY. This can be combined with delivery of fresh fruits harvested from the Amma center.
