One of the better ones. Great views . Hours are early but the playground is cool for the kids. Hoop court is well kept up .

This is a hidden gem in Castro Valley. It's kid friendly and pet friendly. The dogs love the trail and the kids love the playground. The people that attend this place are super friendly and make it even more enjoyable. There's also a full court basketball court which was a nice surprise. The maintenance of the grass could be better but with so much land I understand why it's overgrown in certain areas. I love this place and bring my family here often. You won't be disappointed coming here on a Saturday or Sunday. Lastly, the views of the bay (you'll have to see them to understand) read more

This park isn't just my favorite local spot but my dogs' as well! Whenever I get the leash out she literally pulls me up the super steep hill that leads up to Greenridge Park which is a great workout (for her). If you're not walking into the park and you're driving instead you can always find a parking spot. There's a sweet little playground area parents can bring their kids or where you can embrace your inner child and go down the slides. There's also a huge grassy area which the dogs absolutely love! Go up another hill and you're treated to an even better view of the bay than the ones you've already been treated too by the playground area. Coming back from New York, I value peace and quiet very highly. Greenridge Park is the perfect place to sit, breathe, and take in the beauty of nature. read more

Great views Good playground (be warned: tan bark galore) Clean restroom Basketball courts and 3rd picnic area are far from parking Limited parking (though you can park on the curb of the road) I want to think someone just liked the view and said 'let's build a park' because it seems like it would fit a lot of people but they layout kind of restricts it. I would expect it not to have picnic areas, but it does, all three were in use when we were there. read more

I really love this little Park! It's kinda hidden way up a hill, in the cuts. It's on the smaller side, for sure. It's a great place to go if you're looking for some peace and quiet, truthfully. A great place to pack a picnic lunch, read a book and catch up on some you time! It's on top of a hill so it has some great views of the bay area. It has a playground, basketball court, picnic tables, etc. Like I said, great during the day if you wanna walk the dog, play with kids or enjoy some alone time with a good book and a bottle of wine! A nice hidden Gem of a park located in Castro Valley. For starters this park is very Hidden. You have to drive all the way up Greenridge. This mean passing by tons of houses that you will never be able to afford. Once you get there you will notice this place isn't packed and there is a small parking lot. They have a small playground. A large eating area for a picnic and a full size Basketball count. They also have a few trails to walk around and nice view of Castro Valley. It's a pretty basic park. Parking is free and it's free to get in. It's just a very basic spot. I like to bring my dog here as I can get away with her off least as it's not many people go there. I took a picture of her in front of the park; I'm pretty sure this should be main pic of the park. I might be a bit bias in that option tho. The dog loved how many sticks were around for her to chase. I got in a few games of basketball and It was a pretty good time. There are even bathrooms that looked to be pretty clean. I think it's a good place for people of all ages. Just make sure to clean up after yourself and keep this hidden gem clean. I'll keep returning for sure. read more

Not too many know about this place, which is why (I think) their parking lot has spots for approximately 20 cars. At first glance, it seems as though there is just a small play area for kids and a grassy field, but for believers of parks and outdoor recreation - and the most adventurous of urban park goers, there's more. Down a path to a lower level, there are fields of play area, ball courts, paths, and mysteries to be uncovered. Lay in the grass and discover hundreds of flowers - white, yellow, blue and pink - all waiting to be glanced upon by your lazy eye. Greenridge is truly a place to waste your day away, watching the Bay life crawl by as the ocean breeze sweeps far inland and runs through your hair. read more

This park has an amazing view of Castro Valley & beyond. I can see the San Mateo bridge from this park! It is quaint, cozy & has plenty to keep my toddler busy. I have yet to encounter crowds so parking & play have been easy. It gets cold up here & windy so bring a jacket even if you don't feel you need one. BONUS: This park is dog friendly so I can walk my dog while watching my lil guy play. read more

This is my current neighborhood park; I walk here a few times a week with my 15 month old. Parking is scarce so if you go during the weekend make sure you go earlier in the day. I only use Greenridge Park during the week and it's pretty reliably empty, which is wonderful. I really wish this park, and all parks in general, had fenced off areas for much smaller children. The play structure here is nice but there's not much for very little ones to do, free from bigger and rowdier kids, than be in one of two swings meant for toddlers and under. As soon as things start picking up here I've usually got to grab my son and head home because there isn't anywhere safe for him to explore climbing or playing in sand, etc. The highlights for me are the park's proximity, its emptiness during the week, and the view you get of the surrounding cities. I prefer other parks but this one is closest, thus the one I visit most. read more

This park is my little getaway when I need a quick breather. It's 5 minutes from my home, and when things get a little crazy, I drive up the winding road of Eichler homes and relax on a bench with a prime view of the Bay Area. Gorgeous sunsets too if you're there at the right time! It's also a great spot for weekend parties. No reservations required, but you need to arrive early to get the best spot, and it only has a few parking spaces. I've had a few of my kids' parties here -- the upper park with the playground is perfect for small kids, and the lower park with the basketball court, patio and lawn is great for big groups. read more

This is a great park. The combination of fantastic bay views, a large playground, picnic areas ,hills to climb, full b-ball court, horse shoe ring and huge grass area make this a great choice to bring your kids to play while you stroll or ponder life while looking out at the bay...or as my 5 year old says, " daddy the green park rocks because of the tire swing, cool slides and hill climbing adventures. The only downsides if any is that the park is a bit tough to find but then most gems are. read more

Ya I really LOVE this park also.. both my kids learned to ride their bikes there. Its never crowded. great for kids,dogs, and yes dates... good picnic area. we are going to have a big one there next month with 100 or so people. read more

This is a really cool park. It's pretty nice in the ways that you would expect a park to be nice in (well maintained, a playground for kids, etc.) But the really cool thing about this park is that it offers a really amazing view of the Bay Area. If you come here at night you can see the planes coming in from over the bay, and you can actually see where they land at the Oakland Airport. A good place to take a date, if you live nearby. read more

I have been coming to this park my entire life as my grandparents live off Greenridge. It has been kept up beautifully with the most gorgeous views of the Bay Area. Park along Greenridge and walk up the hill for a nice sloped trek ;) read more

Full of ticks and foxtails. An off leash Pitt bull ran up to my dog and I. I was terrified. The owner was a football field away and unable to call off her animal. Luckily I got away with no harm done. Crowded on weekends and very little parking. There is a private gun shooting area just next to the park that is used often on weekends that is very disturbing. No restaurant or even a soda machine. Chabot is much better. read more

Not very well run. I attempted to file a formal complaint against an abusive employee at Greenridge Park. I have been dealing with an employee that I don't want to name here since June 21, 2016 regarding this incident. He pretended to be concerned initially, and told my husband and I that HARD would let us know the results of their investigation. I had heard nothing, and on August 1st asked him for a status. On August 2nd he replied indicating that he was in training and would call me the next day. Of course he did not get in touch with me so I followed-up with him again on August 11th. The response I got was that procedure was followed . . . that was it. I responded saying that I didn't know what that meant, and how disappointing it was that he did not do what he said he would. I received a nasty email back that was a single run on sentence with poor grammar and no punctuation telling me that I have a bad attitude, it is a private matter, and that he is sorry I am so negative. This is way beyond unprofessional. Apparently HARD acknowledges and supports employees who are aggressive towards women. I seriously doubt that he would have spoken to a man as he did to me. I plan on putting together all of my communications with HARD on this issue, and escalating it to his superiors and the Board of Directors. It is NOT OKAY for HARD employees to be rude and abusive to the public. My husband and I are discussing what our options are regarding taking legal action, but I definitely plan to post everything on Facebook, Yelp, and any other social media site I can think of, in addition to pursuing it up the chain of command with HARD. read more

To get to the park on must drive up a huge hill. When you get there there is a small parking lot meaning it fills up quick and one must actually use street parking. There are a few areas with picnic tables but some are down a huge hill and a few other areas that require the use of trials. This reasons actually did not make the park loose the five but the main issue of the park is for those who are mobility issues. Those who have trouble with mobility will have a hard time enjoying it. Otherwise, it has a beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay. read more
