Most people won't realize there's a small park enclosed in a rather quiet part of town, and would even consider stopping here. If you want an escape though, this is one to consider. Each time I come home to visit/stay with my parents, I end up going to this park almost 4-5x a week. It's a simple park with lovely grass field with picnic tables and grilling pits scattered around. One side has a public restroom and the other is a playground for young children. People often come to walk or jog the circumference of the grass. Depending on the time of day you come, it'll be a completely different population. After the morning joggers, you'll find the older Asian crowd doing tai-chi, gossiping, and serving community realness. Later in the afternoon, families come to take over the picnic tables and start their BBQs. In the evening, you'll find a truly diverse group of folks doing outdoor activities, with a lot of Latinx folks taking over the volleyball court with games. What I love about this park is that is has never once felt dodgy or unsafe. There is usually someone else around and you can meet some really lovely neighbors passing the day here. Come drop by for a walk, catch up with family or a friend (safely), and enjoy.

There's lots of open space to let your kids run around and even have a little picnic or field day. I'd recommend this park to any parents looking for a change of scenery to their current parks.

I almost always see someone on the basketball courts here, seems like the highlight of this place. There's also a playground, BBQ areas, restrooms, which were very clean, and a ping pong table. Thank goodness it was less smelly than San Francisco waters, yet a bit windy in the afternoon. Great place to go fishing here; not safe to swim since the currents looked rocky. Lots of benches and durable exercise equipment. There's also a playground on the grassy area and a basketball court on the other side of the park. Conveniently located across the golf course and next to a dog park. So beautiful and majestic for ocean therapy. Even the squirrels love to hang out here. I wish I lived closer to San Leandro so I could walk around this marina every day like I'm in Hawaii again. I would even take my date here for free to walk around and see airplanes from OAK Airport fly by the little islands. Expect full parking on the weekends, especially on holidays, since families love to picnic and walk their dogs here.

There is a little something for all ages here too which I enjoy. From slides, to swings, to a splash park I believe is open on weekends, to picnic areas, and a play area that is fenced off with sand for littles, it's definitely a home run spot. I appreciate parks that also are within nature. This spot seemingly has play/picnic/splash areas on one side, and beautiful open grass on the other. We've taken our nephews here before as well to play and they've loved over the years seeing nature at its best ~ from observing butterflies, collecting sticks/rocks (boys are boys!), to getting to run through the grass, we have made so many great memories and photo ops here. All in all, there's always a familiar face or friendly conversation to be had at this community park. There's shared toys in the smaller kiddo area like balls and sand toys, and creative play structures like bumble bees and jets to enjoy. After seeing so many parks, you begin to appreciate those that offer something unique and smile-worthy.

One side was perfect for my two-year-old and the other was perfect for my four-year-old. While the side for my eldest son may be for the school kids, since we came during the summer, it was open to the public. My youngest son got the hang of it pretty quickly making his way up all the bars and trying his best to do the monkey bars (it's the cutest thing). When we're done with both of these parks, we headed over to the courts to play a little ball, or in their case, throw some balls into the air and hope they make it in, haha! Overall, a great area for multiple kids of multiple ages to stay busy for hours. It's all enclosed so tired parents can have a seat and watch their kids play without fear for the little ones running out of the park.

The fenced park is uniquely structured for the physically impaired with mostly wheelchair accessible features. The interactive music stations, specialized swings and diverse play areas (they have a fire truck) are extraordinary points for a public park. One of the structures is a Liberty Swing that fits an entire wheelchair! This mixed-age and mixed-ability playground must be visited at least once. The imagination that went through the fruition of this reality is simply phenomenal. It was a hot summer day when we went and the large trees and quiet shaded zones were a few spots for us to rest in that afternoon. Street parking is adjacent to the playground but this is a popular spot, so plan accordingly. One excellent feature that must be mentioned are the automated and I might say, magical Exeloo toilets (New Zealand based) that should be built in every public park!

There's a solitary airplane by the swings, a 'firetruck' to enter/exit, a boat to drive, slides of all kinds..a whale to climb that blows water steam out of its blowhole! I mean..the creativity!
