It was so relaxing to hear them sign as my kids were playing. It was so busy on a random Sunday with so many young families which was welcoming to see. When we first moved here 15 years ago it was mainly retired folks and seeing people deciding to raise families here is encouraging. The renovations started after measure F passed in 2008 and almost 20 years later this park is almost complete. It makes living in San Lorenzo so much better with this park in the neighborhood.

The roundabout parking prioritizes disabled spots which is a smart and inclusive touch. There are shaded quiet areas, picnic tables for snacks or lunch, and a small free library (though it had little to no books when we visited). The bathrooms are high-tech with audio instructions and a 10-minute limit, but cleanliness was an issue as with most public spaces. Both women's restrooms had toilet seats up with pee on them, no seat covers, and people didn't seem to follow the gender signs. Overall, a great park with good intentions. Oh my goodness that's so long ago. Meek Park today is still as lovely as I remembered it, but even better because they now have the water fountain flowing. The grounds are maintained well with beautiful lush grass and pretty flowers. I also saw some cute cats in their garden area. They have a parking lot with plenty of spots. The playgound looks whimsy and elegant at the same time. I'm so happy that their poop bag stations have actual poop bags! I had poop bags with me, but it's just so helpful when a park also provides poop bags as well just in case people need them. I think they have a restroom area if I remember correctly. I know there was an area with plenty of picnic tables.

The whole park is fenced off, with locking gates to the parking lot. There are many paved trails here, along with picnic areas and playgrounds. There are always people here walking the trail along the outer edge of the park. I have not yet been inside of the mansion, but this park is nice enough to go to on its own. But checking out the inside of this mansion is definitely on my to do list!!!!

The trail connects to the SF Bay Trail, so there's plenty of options for getting your steps in. The marina was busy as expected on the weekend but not as crowded as it gets during the spring and summer. I like that there are exercise stations along the pathway, as well as a few benches situated among the rocky shoreline. Parking and restrooms are conveniently available on site, too. The place isn't perfect, but it's one of the nicest spots in the San Leandro area.
