Meek Estate Park is located in a residential neighbourhood. It is a unique, lovely, dog-friendly park with a playground for kids and a wonderfully creepy mansion. The house is sizable, all white, full of character, and delightfully lacking in symmetry. I don't know if it is haunted, but it ought to be! It's a lovely place to walk your dog or have a picnic!

Visited Meek park as well as the mansion. There were several vendors inside the mansion. They have events here throughout the year. Great place to picnic or just take photos as the park offers beautiful landscapes.

Spectacular mansion at this park. It gives off this Victorian, haunted, glorious, creepy vibes. All the details of the house itself is so beautifully done. William Meek, the guy that built this house, had extensive planting of cherry trees in the area, which prompted the name non-incorporated Cherryland. I read online that this mansion is haunted with a mean spirited ghost. The park itself is great for picnics, photo opportunities, leashed dog walks and for kids to play in the playground. Very popular on the weekends, especially during the holiday weekends. There is parking available but on busy days, expect to park a big further.

"Better than Clampett Mansion, but without Jethro." Wow, what a hidden treasure! I had no idea this park existed. The estate was originally 3,000 acres. Well, it's not nearly that large now, but still a good walk. Some of the original trees are still here, but of course, most are gone now. The fountain is in disrepair, but other parts of the grounds are beautiful. Don't miss the white gazebo. It's just like that one in Sound of Music. The park is open even when the Mansion is not. Of course it's hard to miss this three-story edifice. It's just like Jed Clampett's Mansion--except not in Beverly Hills. And no Ellie Mae anywhere. Ditto for Mr Drysdale. There are multiple, shady areas for parties and wedding receptions. There is also plenty of parking nearby. If you've never seen this beautiful park, come and visit. I promise you won't be disappointed. Well, unless you're looking for Mr Drysdale of course.

Meek Park is presently closed. the playground, gazebo, seating area isn't readily seen from the driveway. the greens, pathways & big white mansion is. most pics depict the majesty of the mansion's interior decor. there probably isn't much to compare with. tours aren't available now. there may be parking within. as they seem to be closed, didn't drive further in.

This is a great little local park where you can take your kids or your family to enjoy on a nice sunny day. There's a small playground near the entrance and huge grassy fields where you can lay out your blankets and have s picnic. There's a really pretty water fountain and an altar surrounded by flower gardens. There aren't many walking trails around, but there are a few concrete walkways throughout. This park is also home to the historical Meek Mansion. I was able to explore the Mansion when I went out to the park, but it's usually only open to the public on special occasions. It is currently undergoing major renovations. The last time I visited, there was no furniture inside and the second floor was blocked off to the public. The architectural structure of the building is beautiful! I you aren't able to get a tour of the inside, it's still worth viewing from the outside. Many local festivals and holiday celebrations are hosted here at this park. I saw a few signs that stated that certain areas of the park can be reserved for special occasions. I'm not sure if there are restrooms on site, but there's a small parking lot that fills up quickly during special events. It's definitely worth a visit if you're a local or just in town visiting the area.

I've been here a few times and was surprised to see I hadn't written a review. Meek Manor is a beautiful building. They open it to the public a few times a year. I recommend taking the opportunity to explore the inside. The grounds are wonderful. In April, the wisteria and jasmine are in bloom and it smells fantastic. I enjoyed the fountain outside... so many photo opportunities. I understand the area around the house is often used for weddings. It is a gorgeous setting. When folks come to visit, Meek Park is one of the local beauties I like to share with them.

Beautiful little area! Great place for photos. Came in early May and everything was in bloom and very green. Cute fountain as well!

Recently went here and was amazed by this tiny hidden park! OK, it really isn't tiny, as there's public restrooms, a HUGE play area for the kids and a picnic area with benches and tables. The park is named after the Meeks Estate which consists of a 26-room mansion on the property (not open for viewing). There is also a parking lot but the whole complex is hidden in a residencial area with the road currently being worked on. A nice fountain lies just in front of the mansion for those who like ornate fountains with interesting ponds.

Great place for prom photos!!! Or really any occasion! Beautiful space

Great place for photoshoots!! The space is amazing and is very beautiful! I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is wanting to have a beautiful location for photos! Or even just to spend time in a peaceful setting!! Love it here

    Pretty isn't it? :]

When I first came to Meek Estate Park, I was shocked beyond belief. I never knew this spacious beautiful park would ever exist in boring San Lorenzo. From then on, it made me realize how much I need to snoop around to find hidden gems like these. It's hidden behind a corner around church but once you go across the bridge, you'll see a vast green lush grass field with good amount of trees. There's good condition benches and a nice playground for kids. What's better is that you can host BBQs since the park provide grill thingies (idk what's it called). I think the patio is where the BBQ can be held. Seriously, it's one the most beautiful parks I've ever been in throughout my entire 18 years of life. Oh did I mention a gigantic mansion is behind a beautiful fountain surrounded by colorful roses and tall palm trees? Personally I find it fascinating to have a small patch of plum trees (i think its plums) at the corner of park. And also another smaller house with old fashion gardening tools for display. When you're done exploring, sit back and relax on those benches and let the wind blow gently across your face. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Victorian house. Is occasionally/rarely open for tours.

Flowering trees, walkways, little musical instrument for kids, bay friendly rated landscaping, beautiful flower shaped shade artwork, hammock, swings, play structure, small trampoline, basketball hoops... Big newer homes are on one side and then trailer park homes are on the other side. Its a public park and no matter what you pay for rent or where you live it is here for you to enjoy. The one problem I saw was the basketball hoops. They were like tiny lakes. For whatever reason the concrete contractors messed up. They made little swimming pool instead of flat concrete that doesn't puddle up. I've bounced a ball in a tiny pool of water... and let me tell you - its one way to end the fun. Great little park for all residents of Hayward. Worth a little drive to get to.

Five stars because it costs no yen…read more As far as Japanese gardens go, this one is my least favorite because it is rectangular, with a visible metal fence perimeter, with ugly trash and graffiti visible from across the creek and no opportunities to feed the koi fish. Three things, though, that make it special is that they have memorial plaques, stray cats, and blowtorched wood for an aged and weather-resistant finish. From 1913-1962, the site was a practice site for farming and raising livestock for Hayward Union High. It became a garden by the late 1970s, and when dedicated in 1980, focusing on botany (with plants donated by local Japanese-American nurseries) rather than religion. Every first Saturday at 1pm there's a free lecture/tour. It's not especially beautiful or big (3.5 acres) or exciting (the few people I saw there were on their phones), but it's a peaceful, clean area. I think informational displays could help people enjoy it more. Or phone chargers. Information like, many of the wooden connections (including the main entry gate) have notches instead of notches to fit together like puzzle pieces. This more authentic approach prevents rust. Or, the garden uses the Shakkei technique: when you can stand at the highest point, the surrounding trees are meant to look like distant mountains, with specific plants blended with the Japanese maples and native Oaks to make the garden feel ten timers larger than its actual 3.5 acres. Or, the hand-selected granite boulders from the Sierra Nevadas are buried one-third into the ground so it looks like they are growing, which is why I don't manicure myself often. .

I wish we had this as a child, but it was lovely to walk around and hear the kids playing and laughing. It brought back some really good memories. I always begged my parents to push me on the round wheel swing. - New infrastructure looks nice and beautiful - They still have the train, it seems only on weekends. - They have a Bocce ball area New changes that I wasn't so fond of: - For the expensive infrastructure, they didn't have those pop bad dispensers, which was surprising. It doesn't affect us much, as we carry a poop bag holder, but I can see it catching folks off guard. - There is no longer an area to greet and feed goats... though, I guess they isn't a bad thing, as my sister got rammed by a goat here as a child. I do miss those goats though. - Lastly, it feels like there is a lot of unused space. So much empty grass! Though, I guess it gets busy in the weekends. Overall, a pleasant new change to a place that's been such an important part of my childhood!
