I just left the store I can say great service. The manager helped to take my order since they were a bit busy. She was a great help asked if I had any questions since it was my first time being here. Noemi recommended the famous crunchy salad since it was a popular item in the menu. I had to order the crunchy peanut salad and it had an amazing sweet taste to it. I had it to eat in amazing dining area. My salad was tasty I had gotten up to ask for an extra dressing and was quick to give me an extra peanut dressing. Urbane Cafe is a great place for sandwiches and salads. I almost always stop by when I'm in town. I either come to this location or the Ventura store. The bread that they include with each order is really delicious. It's simple but very tasty. Their default balsamic vinaigrette dressing is awesome but then I recently discovered their cilantro vinaigrette which has a different taste but really great as well. For their salads I usually get their Kale & Quinoa with tri tip or chicken, the Urbane Cobb, or the Ahi Salad. The food is usually pretty fresh tasting but I've seen them take the prepared ahi out of a bag and put it on my salad before and that visual kind of gave me too much of a peak behind the curtain. It could have been fresh ahi prepared earlier in the day but who knows. So that's one protein I don't order any more. For their sandwiches, I've gotten a bunch of their seasonal selections or I stay with my usual Chimichurri steak sandwich, the Korean bbq steak sandwich, or the Southwest chicken sandwich. The sandwiches come with a side salad and a piece of bread. Download their app, they'll send you promos sometimes. You can also link up a credit card to it so you can accumulate points for quicker payment and for some money off once you hit a certain mark. You can also order your food before and pick up your food in about 10-15 minutes which saves you a lot of time. read more

If you're looking for a light meal, this is the spot. Large variety of salad and sandwiches, and always delicious seasonal options too. I never leave this place feeling gross and bloated, but I definitely leave satisfied. My main reason for not having 5 stars is that I really don't like their cold chicken. For some reason it has a very weird taste. Other than that, their greens are always fresh - no slimy salads for me and their toppings are always generous (for salads and sandwiches). First time eating here; food was fantastic, ambience was comfortable, but service SUCKED. Get your act together. When we finished enjoying our meal, my husband kindly took all the dishes and inquired with an attendant if the tables were bussed, or if there was a station where he can place them. The person he asked sheepishly pointed vaguely to a spot to put them on, instead of graciously taking them from him our at least courteously thanked him for bussing. RUDE and unacceptable! After a round of golf in beautiful Camarillo, I was pretty hungry for a healthy lunch. With a four and a half star rating, I was excited to check this out. The restaurant is located in a plaza, so parking is not a problem. The interior decor was modern with extensive use of earthy materials, and very clean with a few tables inside and a patio outside. What really stood out was the service and the quality of food. This is not a full service restaurant, order at the counter and the food is ready for pick-up once the mobile buzzer vibrates. The menu had a plethora of sandwiches, but todays's special caught my attention the Ahi salad. It was sublime. The Ahi was fresh, cubed and slightly seared to perfection with a pin center; the veggies underneath were crispy and fresh. The garlic dressing was one of a kind and addicting. Every day, they make their own focaccia dough from scratch, and bake it fresh in their open-hearth ovens, which is visible from the restaurant. I didn't indulge in a sandwich, but my salad did come with a slice of it on the side, and it was incredibly tasty and fresh. The staff was very polite, informative and friendly. The problem is that my favorite sandwich is the Banh Mi sandwich, my friend got the Salmon Salad and I ate mine but I wanted hers as well it looked SO GOOD. I work at a internship near the Camarillo location. I have heard some people say they enjoy it but it's too expensive. I decided to try it out and I was impressed. I got the Chimichurri steak sandwich with the side salad. It was only $10 and filled me up! I don't know why people said it was expensive. I really enjoyed the taste of the sandwich. Restaurant is easy to get to off the 101 freeway. Parking is busy during lunch and spots are narrow. Restaurant is situated on the end of the shopping center with plenty of nice outside eating. I ordered the Mediterranean BBQ chicken salad which was delicious and served up with some tasty bread. Portions were plenty filling. I also tried out a couple of the warm cookies. Chocolate chocolate and chocolate chip. They were both perfectly baked and so good. Yum! Over all a good experience minus the bathroom. The bathroom didn't have any soap to wash my hands and the door was sticky! . I asked Ashley if I could get some soap to wash my hands. She got a jug and locked me out of the bathroom while she filled up the soap dispenser, while I waited to wash my hands. Would have preferred to wash my hands first after touching the sticky bathroom door and have her fill the dispenser after. Oh well. I'm sure it didn't cross her mind. read more
