What a great location, I found it easy to get to and appreciate they had outdoor seating. Parking was very tight like the spots were made for compact cars only. When I first walked in I noticed a nice young lady smiling at me which made me feel happy. I wasn't sure what to order and she was great with the recommendations. I chose the Chicken Club that was to die for. Definitely more food then I can eat but I thought the portion fit the price. I tried both lemonade's, the passion fruit was my favorite. This Urbain, café in Camarillo was a pleasant surprise. I knew there were several of these in Ventura County, but I did not yet get an opportunity to try, until recently. I ordered a tri-tip sandwich with the salad and a drink and I was blown away by the quality of the salad and sandwich; both in flavor and preparation. The cashier was very informative and guiding me to the right decision. I enjoyed sitting outside, but noticed the inside was very clean and would've been a mice option on a colder day. I know I need to try the location in Simi in Valley, to see if it is just as good. This being a family business, I'm counting on it. read more

Anything we order is always excellent, from the delivery of the food to the presentation to the quality. I have zero complaints and only compliments. I attended the Yelp Elite event at the Camarillo location. I have been to the location in Pismo Beach and Ventura but never the Camarillo location. I got the Turkey club sandwich one of my go to orders. All of their sandwiches are made on fresh baked bread. All of the people who work at Urbane are kind and have great customer service. The service was fantastic and very clean. I would definitely come back to this location. read more

I had never been here and ordered the Santa Maria salad and it was one of the best salad making choices I have ever made. It has barbecued chicken with the bbq sauce on it, fresh greens that are not iceberg (pet peeve against iceberg lettuce. Barf. ) and pieces of cheese. The salad was a perfect size and didn't skimp on the meat. I also had the enchilada soup and it was good. The bread they serve is fluffy and warm and I love it. It's my first time trying this place and I'm wondering why I haven't tried it before! I got the Chimichurri steak sandwich and really likes the sauces and the bread. They were good sized sandwiches, so I saved the other half for the next day and it was still just as good as when it was made. I also got a side of focaccia bread and the tomato soup. The bread is nice and soft but I like it more toasted on the outside. So I brought it home and toasted it a bit more. The bread dipped in the tomato soup is delish. My one star is all about the service. The food is delicious. A few months ago I placed an online order for a So Cal sandwich and a Cranberry Brie sandwich. Picked them up and drove home only to end up with 2 So Cal sandwiches. Tonight I placed the same order and guess what?! I got home and ended up with 2 So Cal sandwiches. (my receipt shows any correct order) My bad for not checking my order when I picked it up). I could see this happening once, but twice? Had to drive back to get the correct sandwich twice! The food was excellent. I didn't write this right away, we visited a year ago. I had heard great things about the place and the food met expectations. After the meal I needed to use the restroom, and a worker, flushed and headed straight for the kitchen. I gave him grace, thinking that perhaps the toilet took a while to flush so he may have washed his hands, but when I used the restroom, it had finished flushing by the time I approached the sink. No dice on the worker washing his hands. People were carefully putting recyclables on the top of the cans since there appeared to be no recycling bins. As we left I saw another worker come grab all the recyclable containers ($.05 cash value) and toss them in the garbage in a place where recycling is required. Not impressed. Won't go back. Good salad menu but we only tried their Ojai Harvest seasonal special - it came with a unique orange turmeric dressing and was quite good. Located at the corner of a large shopping and restaurant mall so lots of parking in the back. Great spot for family with kids as they have a very inviting tree in front for kids to climb up and play underneath. However, the noise level can be high so people who want quiet dining can only sit inside, which is a bit small. Very fast and efficient service. Would come again to try their regular menus if we are in the area. read more

Haven't been here in maybe years & a Yelp event brought me back while they're selling those limited red velvet cookies. I have been a fan of the sandwiches for years (though wishing their great bread was sliced thinner) but I must say the Poblano Corn soup is the best I have had anywhere. Sorry Panera. The Ahi Tuna & Salmon salads are delightful and so fresh. The only thing I wish they could replace or add on is, instead of kale.. ARUGULA! People with food allergies beware! I came in person to order because the online allergen menu was not very clear regarding their allergens. The teenager at the register was absolutely lazy, lied and he said there was no allergen menu and that they would not be able to tell me what was "exactly" in any of the items. The young man simple did not care nor did he understand what a liability his action are towards the business. This is my go-to place for lunch. If we cater lunch at work and I have the choice, I order here. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is great. When I order ahead through the app for a specific time, the food is ready and waiting for me on the pick-up rack. And my customizations are always done right. I chose the curbside pickup option because I'm pretty tired after a long day at work, and very much appreciate this special service. They always bring the food with a genuine smile and greet me with such kindness. I have always had a positive experience with all the servers, and the manager is the kindest person. Updated Dec 2022: Came back here during yet another fun shopping Camarillo trip. I'm still convinced this is the best quick and healthy option available nearby. This time my mom got a chimichurri steak sandwich and I got a cilantro chicken salad with chipotle ranch dressing. My mom loved her sandwich and let me try a little bit of it. The steak was very flavorful and tender but not fatty. There is a predominant flavor of chimichurri with salty hints from the feta and a nice balancing tangy/sweet cranberry spread that ties it all together. Portion size was very good and my mom was full for several hours. My cilantro chicken salad was delicious! Truly one of the best "fast casual" salads out there. Very nice presentation, great flavors and content (corn, beans, cheese, pico, avocado, and generous amounts of chicken)! Enjoyed the focaccia that comes on the side as well-- super fluffy and decadent. Service was super quick and our food came out within 10 minutes. I'm so disappointed with Urbane Cafe today! Used to be one of my favorite places and I have been to many Urbane Cafe's as well. My lunch today was terrible!!! I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl and the portions were so small that I was left hungry still. In addition, it was tasteless. I have ordered this dish many times prior. Not the same at all today. The bread, that was my favorite part prior, was not the same bread as always. It was dry and tasteless and I ended up throwing it away. Wonder if there are new owners here. Seems like they are skimping on portion size and changing recipes for possible cost cutting as well. Will not be going back to this location. With so many restaurant options these days, so sorry to see this one go downhill. read more

I was going here once a week, loved their food. Unfortunately, I was getting increasingly annoyed that my bread was always served cold. Even if I asked at the counter that they serve it warm, it still came out cold. The last time I was there about 2 weeks ago, the bread was cold (no surprise) and the lemonade was old and had a funky taste. Unfortunately, I will not go back to this location again.
