Titos in the hotel room with a view

Great service! We were happy to support a local establishment two days in a row. Pleasant Manager. Clean store

Fantastic selection of specialty liqueurs!
Jelena Z.

I don't think I've ever had so much fun shopping for vices - sure, it's great fun consuming 'em but who knew buying bottles could be so interesting? The shop's owner, Buckley, comes from a restaurant and food writing background making him a very knowledgeable guy to chat up. He's also very passionate about food and beverage pairings and is happy to wax poetic should you need some direction. As for the store - I love the way it's laid out. The aesthetic is so clean, down to how much room the bottles have on the shelves. It makes for such attractive presentation! Whether you're hunting down fancy liqueurs, the most sophisticated of scotch, craft beer or that obscure bottle of wine, Buckley will quickly acquaint you with your poison of choice. I was so impressed that they stock Croatian wine as I've had a really tough time locating it here in Austin. Ever since my parents' favorite European wine shop closed in St. Louis, my family has run into difficulty sourcing their favorite Balkan wines. Luckily, I found Urban Wine + Liquor right before a trip back to my hometown and I was able to connect my family with a precious bottle! Instant hero status? You know it.

Free whiskey tastings on a Friday evening. How cool is that?!
Adam F.

Friendly staff, great selection and directly across from where we were staying (JW Marriott). They even had samples. Who doesn't like free tastings?! What a fun job. Met the owner. Great guy. If / when we come back, we know where to go! :)

Dog friendly, dog approved!

Dropped in for a bottle of bourbon and ended up partaking in a spontaneous whiskey tutorial generously provided by Buckley. What I especially appreciated was that Buckley did not automatically direct me exclusively to the most expensive bottles (though I did voluntarily end up purchasing one or two of those!). At one point he even pulled up a Master of Malt review on the Internet to show me a third party perspective on a whiskey I was considering. I emerged with a party in a bag in the form of three tremendous bottles each with its own distinctive tastes and characteristics. So happy to have discovered this neighborhood gem! Thanks Buckley!

What Five Stars? because this place is exactly the kind of dive bar that makes Austin weird in the…read morebest possible way. Dirty Bill's is gloriously unapologetic. You walk in and immediately know you are not in some polished Instagram cocktail lounge. It is loud, a little gritty, and full of people who are clearly there to have a good time and not pretend otherwise. The beer is cold, the Lone Star flows like Texas water, and the vibe is pure old school Austin. And yes, the legendary bathroom situation deserves its own paragraph. The men's room features a giant ice filled trough for a urinal, which feels like something out of a 1970s roadside saloon documentary. Somehow it is both ridiculous and perfectly on brand. It actually becomes a conversation starter because you walk out laughing and immediately tell your friends they have to see it and go pee. The crowd was friendly, the bartenders were quick with the beers, and nobody was taking themselves too seriously. I ended up staying longer than planned, drinking Lone Stars and talking to random people like we had known each other for years. If you want craft cocktails served with a rosemary sprig this is not your place. If you want a hilarious, slightly chaotic, authentically divey night in Austin with cheap beer and great stories, Dirty Bill's absolutely delivers. Five stars and I would go back in a heartbeat.

They were spinning some popular tunes. The place was packed with a very fun crowd. It appears to be a bar you come to have drinks and chat. There was a small area where dancing could take place, but no one was dancing at the time. The staff including the general manager was super friendly. It felt like a wedding reception as you came into the club where you were greeted...very warm and welcoming. We had a drink and stayed a short while. It looked like a place you could come for a girls or guys night out or celebrating a fun occasion. Will definitely consider Dirty Bill's for a future fun evening...

Me and the wife went tonight for my birthday and I would absolutely recommend The Guest House! The ambiance is friendly, energetic and the service was impeccable. Our waitress and sommelier were genuine and extremely attentive but never overstayed their welcome. Cocktails were on par with downtown ATX but don't expect a heavy pour. Food is excellent and could easily contend with Odd Duck and Jeffrey's. This restaurant is modern, inventive and... different. A DJ in the restaurant creates a fun and "young" vibe for folks just starting to branch out into fine dining (IMO). Let it be known you can easily spend a fair amount but it's worth the visit. Here are my issues: The dress code is not enforced, seating arrangement isn't intimate, and it doesn't feel exclusive. I understand TGH is trying to put themselves on the map and I respect that. However, patrons can very easily drop $1K on dinner, and while the caliber of the staff matches the asking price, there appears to be no standard for the clientele as T-shirt wearers are accepted at the same level as black tie. Maybe that's just Austin and maybe that's acceptable for TGH. As the restaurant matures and further hones their craft, I would hope the standards increase. I've spent far less money for far better food and equivalent service while adhering to restaurant decorum. To TGH - Commanders Palace you are not. Keep up the good work but I expect a more intimate and professional dining experience for your asking price.

From the vibes, to the food, and the fun, Bull & Bowl delivered on every level. Located on West 6th, Bull & Bowl doesn't have a dedicated or private parking lot. There is street parking all around as well as paid parking lots near by as well. We made our way up to the second level and were immediately greeted by the staff. We were taken past the bar and mechanical bull to our tables. Service was great! They were patient and knowledgeable with the menu/offerings, and made sure everyone was well taken care of. Drinks were great, an expansive menu with specialty cocktail offerings as well as a full bar, side note they do not have draft here. So far as dinner, their menu is rather diverse and we ordered quite the spread. Food came out fast, accurate, and hot. I opted for their Buttermilk Caesar Salad and loved it. Although we only went for the Mechanical Bull and had a blast, they do offer arcade games, duckpin bowling, karaoke rooms, and more. I say that to highlight the energy here was high and there were a number of groups/parties enjoying at Bull & Bowl has to offer and it was LOUD in there. Not a complaint, just something to keep in mind depending on the kind of evening you're looking to have. Everyone left the evening full and with a smile on their face, and Bull & Bowl will absolutely be on our list when looking to host future team outings. Thanks for the great time.
