Koval had the most positive reviews, provided a competitive price, and they also replied to emails right away, which set them apart from the other companies. We decided to spend the money on building a composite deck, which we believe is a worthy long term investment and easier to maintain than wood. Damian and crew removed our old frame which was not up to code, and installed a beautiful Trex deck and railings in just under two weeks. His work is extremely clean and detailed, and we are very happy with how it turned out. Thank you, Damian and Olga!

We were able to upgrade to the higher end Trex and still pay less than what we would have paid with other companies using a lower tier Trex product. I was almost tempted to go with a more polished company with lots of samples and flyers on hand, but I'm so glad we didn't. Frank was incredibly easy to work with - very timely, communicative, friendly, helpful, and honest. He saved us money where he could and made sure we got exactly what we were looking for. Peter (foreman) and team were very professional, speedy, tidy, and meticulous. We uncovered a rotted support beam and a roofing issue during the deck rebuild, and Frank took care of all that as well with his roofer, and took care of the additional Trex materials that were needed after we uncovered the issues and added to the project. The extra unexpected work only took about an extra week or two to resolve. The team even poured some cement for us to fill in cracked stairs while they were pouring cement to secure the deck posts. All paperwork was handled professionally through their admin contact via email, and Frank was always accessible by phone or text if we had questions. We would definitely use them again and can't recommend them enough!

I ran home from work to meet but no show. I reached out. No response. Ghosted. This company asks for 70% of the cost due "2 days prior to start day." Good luck with that. They can't get to appointments, communicate, or follow up. I get that things happen, but these kinds of companies will trumpet their communication, etc. Buyer beware. So disappointing.

We aren't concerned about the numerous cosmetic cracks, but the deep ones are too much of a head start for deterioration and should be replaced. I talked to five other contractors for the same job. While Tom was not the cheapest I could find, he was the most credible and knowledgeable of all. He was able to explain how his cost was broken down and what my choices were with respect to reducing the cost of construction. After a few discussions, we were able to get the cost to match my best offer. He came across as the most skillful, patient and considerate during my interactions and was willing to work with my budget and constraints. During the work he was professional and punctual His crew was quiet and no nonsense workers. Having worked with other crews for different projects, I can very well say that Tom's was the best. I always able to feel comfortable to leave them at work without me being around. They were very well organized during their work, completed the work on time and left the work area clean and safe. Tom managed the city inspections. When the city inspector came back with additional items to be furnished related to the porch, Tom helped me complete the parts related to the porch and provided me suggestions to resolve the other unrelated ones. More than general contractor Tom is passionate person with genuine interest in his work and his customers. He is also actually a very interesting person who can speak intelligently about a wide a variety of subjects. Definitely a good sounding board if you want to bounce off your ideas.
