However their savory food is just as tasty. My sister ordered beef noodles and not only is is so flavorful, but the beef meat pretty much melts into your mouth. My smoked salmon salad was one of the best salads I've ever eaten and the entire bowl was empty by the time I was through with it. Quality food and service! Edit: I came back with the sole purpose of trying their desserts (and other savory foods) and it was worth the half hour wait, I'll tell you. We ordered pasta, the cookies and cream brick toast, jasmine milk tea, and brown sugar milk tea with wheat. Pasta: forgot the name but SO GOOD like better than some of the high class Italian pastas I've had in California. How can a Taiwanese cafe that specialize in dessert create such divine pasta I don't know but I ain't complaining! Brick toast: 10/10 I'm so used to eating the inside of the brick toast and leaving the crust to the dust because of how hard and flavorless it is, but this is hands down the best brick toast I've ever had in my life where I was able to eat both the crust AND the inside. Jasmine milk tea: good taste, good quality. Good enough for my mom to crave more for it even after being back in California for a week. Brown sugar milk tea with wheat: maybe it's because I'm unable to drink this stuff without getting sick, but my throat started to feel funky after two sips and the texture of the wheat made me feel uncomfortable to drink anymore. Most of their drinks are brown sugar so I wish they had more flavors but maybe this is what they're known for. Everything else is great, though!

English Review: Tea…read morewood is a very refreshing and trendy Taiwanese chain. For me, the teal bluish coloring combined with the wood surfaces provide a very classy and fun environment to eat. My party of 2 came around peak hours ~1:30pm and was seated in about 10 minutes. However because of the lunch rush, was only allowed to stay for 60 minutes. My order: ~$150 HK or about ~$25 US Popcorn chicken - nice and crispy; definitely a lot better than some of its American counterparts Mixed fruit tea - felt like I could have made it at home to be honest; however, they gave a huge load of fruit( Mangos, Dragon fruit, strawberry, blueberry, plums) which made it super refreshing Latte - cutest little coffee art I've ever seen! All in all pretty cute place. A little busy for my tastes but I still had a good time. 4/5 stars :)

Have you ever wanted to eat in a Wes Andersen movie? Then you've found the right place…read more Hotal Colombo has a rogue spelling and rogue decor but somehow makes it work. The place is cozy but decorated with mirrors and enough light pink and blue to trigger your memories of Mendl's from Grand Budapest Hotel. Incredible movie. Wes Andersen is a visionary The service is fantastic and our waitress let us know although this restaurant wasn't designed with an Andersen film in mind some other Black Sheep restaurant was. This Black Sheep food conglomerate is like the Amazon of the overpriced HK scene they're everywhere The food itself is SPICY - be warned. Order milk or something to go with your meal if you're a spice wuss like me. Otherwise - be ready to bust out your phone and Google because you will not recognize any of the food names. But that's part of the fun and part of the experience

The first item is a chick pea appetizer than comes a trey of condiments/sides and finally you have a choice of a main course. Overall the food is tasty and the price is pretty reasonable especially for a black sheep restaurant. Food: 3.75 stars Service: 4 stars Environment: 3.5 stars Value: 4 stars Overall: 3.75 stars Recommendations: egg hopper, fried fish with coleslaw I had the bacon and egg hopper paired with the chicken Kathy. The curry was a tad spicy and made for a good dipping sauce for the hopper crepe. I did wish the hopper was a bit more crunchy but overall I enjoyed the dish. I made the mistake of thinking the chili sauce that was paired with the hopper was tomato paste and ate too much with my first bite. The fried fish was my favorite of the two mains. The fish was nicely fried and I enjoyed the crust and preparation of the fish. The coleslaw had some nice acidity and flavoring from the turmeric. It wasn't too over powered by the sauce which I find typically to be the problem with coleslaw. The dessert of the day was a maple tart, which was nice. Kind of wish there was more of a Sri Lankan inspired dessert, which is something I have ne er had before.

Not long after I got in, 8:55 AM on Sunday, people started coming in droves. In fact, 15 minutes after I arrived, the place was almost full. For my breakfast, I ordered an iced green tea and the Eggs, Chorizo, Avocado and Toast. The eggs were perfectly poached and matched well with the salty chorizo. The avocados were also a nice touch. As for the tea, although I was not wowed, the presentation was quite good. On my first trio here, I also had the fortune of trying the latte which was very good. I would definitely recommend this cafe for breakfast.

This avocado toast experience really killed and surpassed my last avocado toast experience (Montauk…read more- you'll have to read my review for reference). I loveeee avocados in all forms....in tortilla soup, fried, sliced in burgers, homemade guac dip, and straight from a raw cut half sprinkled with sea salt. Just throw them at my face. I'll eat it. So I loved the combination of avocado diced with almonds, alfalfa sprouts, thinly sliced radish, and whatever else magic was on there. All that covered over one piece of sliced bread. The other slice had a perfect poached egg. A bite of egg and a forkful of avocado mix was just scrumptious. I will have to recreate that at home. Iced soy vanilla latte was dynamite! I think it kept me up while adjusting to time change since it was day 2 of traveling. Lastly, had to go with a take away dessert. The buttery baked fig dessert was gone in 4 bites. It was a little on the dry side. But I saw potential in the making....beautiful piece of baked good.

There is a great variety of food that can be ordered and the quality is pretty decent. Best for people who love sashimi. The other Japanese dishes are more average. The shrimp, yellow tail and scallop sashimi were great. The sea urchin tasted bitter for some reason, watch out for that. Highly recommend the fried taro balls / durian balls. Drinks are free too and it's mostly Japanese / Korean soft drinks. Pretty nice! Overall quality is above average, but as good as all-you-can-eats can get. I'll definitely go back some day.

Be prepare to queue regardless, the corridor is so small after going up the lift. The set up here as you enter is slight different from I expected, you write what you want in the book of menu, tear it off, or the section you want and hand it over to the waiter. Drink waiters are separate. The first order is always the quickest, but after that it just takes forever. I guess because there are just too many people. The food is not bad, but there was dishes, you just have to question, cheese cover nigiri?? You what!! There wasn't many normal regular dishes. If you want to expand your palette, then come here. The venue, given it's HK, was still quite squash and limited movement space. But any hoo. I felt the vibe was quite rush and hectic, food obviously had to come out in loads, as everyone is ordering. For Japanese sushi experience, i guess this place is not intended for that purpose, I truly now appreciate the small diners, the okamase experience.
