I ordered the breakfast set that came with mushroom, chicken and cheese on an english muffin. It also came with a side salad with goma dressing. You can also choose a complimentary drink of UCC special blended coffee, ceylon tea or orange juice. The muffin sandwich and salad was delicious! The english muffin is so much better than the ones in the US. I can't wait to go back and try it again! This place also sells bags of whole beans of sumiyaki coffee if you like sumiyaki coffee at UCC coffee shops.

No trouble right? After all Sheung Wan is supposed to be hipster and cool and constituted mostly of antique shops and minimalist Swedish cafes. I tried Lof10 and Po's Atelier and neither was selling beans. I passed Just Coffee on the way there, but it wasn't yet highly rated so gave it a miss. Returning, I thought why not ask them. Are they selling coffee beans? They will, eventually, but for now, the barista asked me how much I wanted, measured out 120g for 5 days, ground it for me, and since he didn't have an appropriate container, grabbed an empty bag and put it in it, charging me the same % of the 1kg bag price as I had taken in weight. This is what I call service. Of course they were very nice people too and basically guaranteed that should I need further caffeination after 10am, they'll be my first port of call. Bonus: the place is now called "Just Cafe HIPSTER". Yes, in bold yellow capital letters (with serif - sans fonts are so 2000s), it's in front (see photo) and also on their business cards (see other photo). You can't miss it. So, after whining about them on Yelp for over a year I have finally been to a bona fide hipster cafe.

Yes, a day bed!! I'm pretty sure I have never encountered a day bed in a coffee shop anywhere in the world (and I have drunk a lot of coffee). It kinda works although reclining on it would probably be a little bit on the weird side. For those in search of a more conventional experience there are also some tables/chairs. It would seem so humdrum to sit there though! So to the coffee. It's not 'just' coffee of course. There are cute little slices of cake available and some breakfast brunch options. My macchiato was so so - a little bit burnt and the milk a little too frothy. However, the blueberry cheesecake that came with it was nice (if a small slice). Overall, probably 3 stars for the coffee but a bonus for the day bed!

You can easily spot this café as this is the only one have people waiting for seats outside. They do not accept any reservations so my friend went there early to try to get a seat. She waited for 15 mins and we got in. Décor is amazing. This is about the owner love to travel so open a shop with all the décor of post card, books and souvenirs all around the world. They do not have a wide selection of menu but all the price are very reasonable. For $100, you can have a soup and main. And all the dishes there is around $100 and the portion is very big enough for 2 people. We ordered 2 sets(fish and fries & Roasted rice with cream sauce), and 2 al carte from the menu (snacks platter & assorted steak). Definitely recommend the fish and fries, the fish are fried perfectly, and size are at least 20cm by 10 cm! We are all impressed with this great deal! And the snack flatter are in great portion(at least 20 pieces of everything) and we got all very excited. Even though it's all sausages, potatoes fedges, onion rings, deep fried curry, stuffed Crab Claw and it's out of my healthy rating, this is just very nicely plated and great taste. I saved some space for dessert and ordered waffle with green tea ice-cream, waffle are freshly made and yes, I do love it. The bill is only $750 for 4 and I am so full after all!

Her tea was definitely better, while mine tasted a bit weak. I was kind of annoyed that we had to keep asking for additional hot water but oh well! The tea set came with three tiers. Four scones up top (two plain and two raisin) with butter, apricot and berry jam. The scones were warm and toasty. The second tier had a few savory baby tartlets and small sandwiches. The tartlets were pleasant but the sandwiches felt VERY bread heavy with not much filling. The bottom tier was my favorite and had a berry jelly, chocolate/coffee macaron, sponge cake, roll cake, a cheesecake and one more I can't remember. They were all not too sweet and had very varied flavors. The helicopter landing pad nearby made the dining experience pretty noisy, it was unpleasant :( The view, I suppose is the selling point..but the harbor is blocked by a building (totally not their fault) so the people watching is probably the best part of sitting on the deck. I don't think I would return here considering the quality of the afternoon tea being meh but it was a decent bougie experience!

The tea set came with a three tier selection of sweets and savories. There were plain and raisin scones with clotted cream, apricot and strawberry jams. There were a couple of tiny tomato quiches and mushroom tartlets, as well as celery salad, tomato, and smoked salmon sandwiches. There was a sponge cake with delicious lemon cream; creme caramel with a slightly burnt taste; a dense mini taro muffin; a light airy cherry cheesecake; sweet potato tartlet; and a fruit tartlet. The interior dining room was decorated in old chinoiserie style, and there were quite a few tables on the veranda looking out to the lovely outdoors. The former royal marine police headquarters is quite a photo extravaganza as we saw three wedding parties get their pictures taken at the site. If you get a chance to get to the Tsim Sha Tsui area and you'd like a nice treat, go to the Parlour.

When the best part about your chicken salad sandwich is the bread...lol. Let me clarify, the food…read moreat Ginger Bakery wasn't completely awful. It's just that the chicken was subpar and the bun was above par. But still, that's not really what you want when you order a chicken salad sandwich. Let me further clarify by saying that Ginger Bakery wasn't bad at all. With a name like that, you'd think it'd be hot and spicy...or really Asian, but nope. I happened to stumble through its cute French café-like doors when I failed to locate a certain Rotisserie chicken place. HKD $67 for a sandwich and a coffee/tea sounded like a reasonable deal. And I've had a hankering for a good chicken salad sandwich since leaving Toronto. There were definitely some things that they did right and some things that were just wrong. So let's start with the good. 1) It's a very nice dine in area. Good price lunches and displays. Very nice cutlery and plates. 2) The milk for my tea came hot, so my tea stayed steamy. 3) The bun for my sandwich was very soft and fresh. It tasted slightly sweet and leaves flour residue on your hands, like a puffy bread pillow. 3) Food came very quickly, which is perfect for the HK rush life. Now for the bad. 1) First of all, the sauce was kind of yellowish and that threw me off, but nothing too alarming. It still wasn't great though, and I don't find it memorable at all. But the bigger detriment to the sandwich was the chewy chicken. That was not pleasant. It wasn't all the way chewy, it was just after a couple of bites. You can tell they included pieces of tendon and stuff in there that did not make for a good chicken experience. 2) I asked for Earl Grey tea and ended up with English Breakfast. Not a huge deal, but still a disappointment. English Breakfast is the most basic of teas. 3) They warmed up the sandwich which is usually a great thing, but it was kinda weird for a chicken salad sandwich to be warm. I mean I can completely understand (and would love) a warm toasty bun, but to have warm chicken salad? Especially when the chicken salad wasn't very good? Hmm... Would I go again? Maybe. I can see this being a very cute date place or somewhere to come with a friend for a slice of cake (which looks great) and a specialty cappuccino. But it looks like my quest for the perfect chicken salad sandwich on this side of the world continues. (31/100) - 2017

Well, Cafe Corridor is pretty hidden, and almost a "hole in the wall", at the end of a ground floor entrance across from Times Square. My friend ordered a Brazilian Single Origin Pour Over and I got a Rose Latte. I quite enjoyed the cozy environment and was very reminiscent of coffee shops I used to frequent in the US. There is no Wi-Fi so it's a fair incentive for you to socialize and enjoy a coffee with your friends instead of being connected. The bathroom could be better maintained, but not much to expect from a place like this. Will return to try their breakfast and pastries!

2.5 Stars for the coffees…read more There is a lot of fanfare and positive reviews for Care Corridor. . First off, it is a bit hard to find if you don't look closely, so I supplied a picture of what the entrance looks like. The Corridor itself is cool, and once you enter its a quaint little shop, maybe 7 tables. It is not a bright store, maybe a bit more divey ambiance. As you've seen other posts, there is a great "No Wifi" picture, suggesting we talk to the people we came with and for that I'm adding a .5 star :) We all need to be reminded to enjoy the moment more, not necessarily your gadgets. They do serve food, but we only had coffee. They definitely know their coffee drinks and give suggestions if you ask. Both drinks were good, however, not hot and maybe just above warm? Maybe it was meant to be that way? I'm not sure because the employees don't really follow up to make sure you are satisfied and seem a bit coffee snobby. I'll confess though our specialty drinks were firsts, nowhere have I had/seen them before so maybe they are not meant to be "hot." Seem to be alot of tourists or expats coming in here. There are 4-5 other coffee shops that receive alot of notoriety along with Cafe Corridor. Am I happy I came, saw, tasted? Yes. Will I go out of my way to come back? No.

The restaurant is located right on Temple Street, easy to find. The inside is small, cozy, and clean, decorated in a rustic style with maybe 10 tables or so. When I arrived at about 10:30 AM on a Saturday there were several open tables, but by the time I left (a little after 11) the restaurant was full, so you may need to wait a bit if you arrive during rush times. The ordering process is order-at-the-counter style, with a staffer bringing your food and/or drinks when they're ready. Like many places in Hong Kong, Studio Caffeine does not seem to have drip coffee available, so if you're just a plain black coffee drinker like me, you'll have to be okay with an Americano or a shot of espresso. My Americano was pretty good, though not the best, but the prices here are extremely reasonable so no complaints. As mentioned, the English breakfast comes in a few different varieties. I went with the "Classic," which consists of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast, bacon, pork sausage, and salad. Each item was very good (and again, excellent value for the price, though I would have liked to see maybe a little more protein and a little less lettuce) and I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. Overall, a fast and delicious experience at Studio Caffeine and I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast western-style breakfast in the area.

What did look special was what another table was eating - apparently there is a separate menu if you order ahead. If you can figure out how to do that, it seems worth. Otherwise I probably would have used the calories elsewhere during our visit to Hong Kong.
