One of the best Pilate class I have ever had. Liz was amazing, very motivating with clear with instructions and made the class really enjoyable. I loved the workout and how challenging it was. The studio is very well equipped. You can tell they've put a lot of thought into the space and the equipment. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be a bit tricky. There aren't many spots right in front of the studio so you may need to look around. But there is a paid parking lot nearby. This is an excellent pilates studio located in East Austin! I loved how clean and spacious the studio itself was. At first, I was weirded out by how passerby on the street can look into the studio, but as soon as the workout started, I quickly forgot about that because of how focused I was. The workout was challenging, but also easy to modify if needed. This was my 3rd pilates class ever and my first at this studio using the Lagree method, and although it was challenging, I was able to manage at my own pace! I highly enjoyed my visit to Urban Lagree. I went very early in the morning, so I was able to find parking on the street. The staff were very friendly. I received an introduction to class and machine when I arrived. The machine looks intimidating, but it's pretty easy to handle. Plus it is super comfortable. I loved all of the different exercises but the instructor gave modification options. It was a very peaceful time. The studio is very well kept and it is nice you have big windows to look out at while working out. I would def give this class a try! read more

I love the vibe of the Urban Lagree studio! What I struggle with is finding an instructor who gives feedback and makes sure I am in the right positions. While I consider myself to be seasoned in Pilates, I have a history of injuries and if I'm not in proper form, it can have consequences, as with anyone. I hope they take this into consideration, and place more value on corrections and posture. That being said, I really enjoyed Sami's class and her energy. Her teaching style felt most similar to other Lagree studios I've been to, and I would definitely go back to her class. Overall, it's a good studio with a kind community, but lacks the attention to posture I am used to receiving at other studios I've been to. Will continue to go and see if I can find my go-to instructors. read more

I really enjoyed classes by Vanda, Abbie, and Joy and wish I could say I loved all of my time spent here, but it ended up being more of a headache than I anticipated. I've taken Lagree classes in FL/GA/NY/CA and beyond, at all kinds of different Lagree studios. Personally, I have found the best studios are ones that have a present and active owner who is hyper focused on growing their business and clients. I found this studio to be good at first, but quickly realized it may not be the place for me. My biggest concern was lack of consistency in teachers, method, correction and policy. Recently I showed up for class on time, was told there was no machine for me (even though I booked a week in advance). I was promised the issue would be rectified....and then charged a no show fee hours later. Honestly as a client the last thing I want to do is have to chase down management to rectify a situation that should not have happened anyway. I was truly looking forward to getting back to classes with the above named teachers after having a major surgery and taking 5 weeks off, but due to this frustrating discrepancy I've elected to switch to another Lagree studio here downtown who best aligns with my needs. read more

Best Pilates studio in ATX! They are NOT snobby and boring like The Lagree Studio and make you feel welcomed no matter what your level or experience is! They are also the only LAGREE reformer Pilates studio in ATX to offer the megaformer with a ramp and 45 minute classes which is an even more intense and vigorous workout! I love them and travel all the way from Round Rock just for the classes and teachers. Vanda is the best but all the instructors are really great and add their own special touch to the classes! They are also opening a new studio more North in a couple of months during the summer so more people will have access.. I couldn't recommend a better studio in this area!!!!! Urban Lagree - Saturday sweat sessions @ Urban Lagree!!!! - Pilates Near Me - Austin, Texas

I'm still not sold on the Megaformer Austin is saturated with, but when it comes to Pilates studios, Urban Lagree is as trendy as it comes. Their Megaformers auto-adjust to the incline settings set by the instructor to give the client an extra challenge. Urban Lagree sets (or doesn't) their AC to an uncomfortable temperature. Think of this class as the hot yoga of pilates. I had Katie, who is also one of the co-owners at Urban Lagree, as my instructor and I like how she comes around to help you with your adjustments. I never leave this class dry, I am always drenched in sweat and exhausted AF. I will warn you, if you are not the fittest candidate, this class is NOT for you. Do not attempt this class if you are a more novice pilates user, as you WILL get injured. The spring settings they work through are intense, and for those who are recovering from an injury or have weak muscles, I would be wary. I don't have the type of schedule where I can schedule workouts a whole week in advance (everything is waitlist only with 3 or so ahead of you). Got to take a class there last night- and what a KILLER workout!! Katie led us through all the core, then glute and thigh lunges, along with a back & tricep workout on brand-spakin'-new super fancy reformer machines while Abbie came around for adjustments that made my movements more effective (and also harder) with a huge smile and encouragement on how strong I was (even though I felt like I was going to give in any moment)! It's intense but there's always the option to switch off the incline if it's too much. The instructors are supportive and motivating! I particularly enjoy classes taught by Lindsey, Abby and Ron. This class gives me life. I was looking for a routine that I could do regularly to get into a rhythm and this is it. I hate just going to the gym and was having a hard time scheduling cycling and climbing and hiking and lifting to keep me in shape and push me past my limits. Well this packs like 10 routines outs into 45 minutes. When I started I thought I was in good shape, but this kicked my butt in a really productive way. Now after 2+ months I'm going 3-4 days a week and feeling SO STRONG. I love my body more not because it looks better but because it feels better. My posture is better, my balance is better, a feel like a fine tuned machine :) Also my muscles are growing muscles. Also the instructors are amazing, make me feel welcome and really helped my awkward self get more comfortable with this kind of fitness. They make sure I'm doing the moves right so I don't injure myself, and when they call out your name and say good job it's like getting a gold star and you feel so special!!!! read more

I wanted to wait until I took a handful of classes before I did any type of review on this place. I've taken about 6 (all with Katie) and 1 with Ron and this is what I have to say: I really do love this place! I would totally join if it weren't in east Austin! I live in Allendale and it's too far from my apartment (15-20 mins) and even further from my job (I like to go in the mornings...would be 45 mins). The instructors are so sweet and the workouts are extremely challenging (thanks to the ramps). This is the only place that gets me sweating (and they keep it ventilated). I always burn over 200 calories (I'm 140 lbs). Con(s) for me are: Dogs: All the dog fur on the floor and on my workout clothes afterwards. (It's not excessive...they clearly sweep). They are dog friendly. I love dogs, I just don't know how I feel about it in the studio. If I sneeze I wonder if it's because of dog fur! Speaker/Mic: it's sometimes hard to hear the instructions because of the acoustics of the room. Maybe turn the music down a bit if you notice your students aren't doing what you ask, haha (for Ron specifically?) Distance: too far of a commute for me...however if I lived closer it would always be my spot. I hope to visit more in the summer time when I have more time off! Love Urban!!! read more

Urban Lagree: Every teacher I've had (5 different teachers) has been motivating and attentive to form - if you're doing a move incorrectly, the instructor will almost always notice, and give you a few quick pointers to get you moving correctly (I am still learning, so this happens 5-6 times per class :) ). Thanks fam! Don't forget to grab a lifesaver (or 4) after class. Lagree: The fact of the matter is, Lagree done right (proper movements, nice and slowly) will give you a godly core/torso, aesthetically and performance-wise. I am a competitive cyclist - strengthening my core and all the small supportive muscles in my legs and hips allows me to put more power into the pedals, and have a stronger presence in close-quarters racing/sprinting scenarios. read more

Urban Lagree is by far the BEST Lagree studio in Austin. When you arrive, you will be greeted with a warm welcome, beautiful wall of unique artwork & clean studio. There are restrooms and water fountains, and cute t-shirts and accessories to purchase. They also allow well behaved dogs to hang out during class, which I personally adore. The work out is definitely intense, and will be one of the most challenging classes you will ever take in your life! With regular megaformers, you can max out pretty quickly within a few months, but the ramps under these machines kick it up a notch, no matter what level you come in at. Honestly, don't waste your time with any other Lagree studios in Austin. Urban has it ALL & more! They follow the proper Lagree method, the owners are AMAZING, and the clients are so fun! read more

This review is so overdue!!! I'm a bodyworker of over 20 years, so it's important that I stay fit and strong. I've done every workout under the sun from barre, yoga, kickboxing, spinning, bootcamps, etc and this is by far the most challenging workout I've ever done. I am also that insane person that does this 6 days a week because I am slightly obsessed. I've done Lagree at other studios in town. Urban is my favorite though. There is such a wonderful sense of community here and I also think they are the only studio in town that have the megaformers that ramp, which makes it even harder and I'll be honest. You will get stronger, but it never really gets easier. I cannot begin to express how quickly you will see changes in your body with this type of exercise and the best part is you get a full body workout in less than 45 minutes. Normally classes are 45 minutes, but because of Covid, they have been shortened to 40 to allow extra time to clean the machines. Masks are also required right now which kind of sucks, but the owners are doing everything possible to keep Urban a safe environment for their guests. Abbie and Katie, the owners at Urban Lagree are amazing women too. I couldn't be more grateful that we have this studio on the east side. read more

I've been going here for about a month on a recommendation from my physical therapist. I have back pain and needed to strengthen my core muscles to help fend off future pain episodes. I LOVE this studio, and I love Joy's classes! I started doing pilates regularly for the first time about 5 months ago and wasn't crazy about other studios I tried. I discovered Urban Lagree and never looked back. I've worked up to going to three classes a week and I'm astonished by how much I love this exercise and how much of a change I see in my strength and body awareness. Not only have I steadily improved my form and strength in pilates, but I can also engage the right muscle groups while walking, running, and pretty much everything physical in a way I wasn't able to access before. I feel stronger and much less injury prone. Other studios I went to were often either loud/chaotic or boring/easy, but UL has a great balance of being very physically challenging without the stress. Austin's newest Lagree studio is a worth visiting. The owners Abbie and Katie are welcoming and ready to lead you through a challenging workout. The studio is the first in Austin to use Megaformers with the ramp lift feature. Although lightly used in the opening week classes, the ramps will add an extra challenge as clients build a foundation of strength and balance in class. I took two classes with Abbie that were accessible for new comers, while being challenging for me (18 months of Lagree practice). They currently have great class and membership pricing. If you live or work near the east side of downtown, you should definitely try this studio. read more

I absolutely love this place and couldn't recommend it more. If you go 3-4 times a week, your body will totally transform. In addition to toning up, Lagree also significantly helped resolve my chronic lower back pain -- if I don't go for a couple weeks, my back starts to nag again. This location is brand new, clean and spacious. I enjoy group fitness classes over individual workouts and this class is a perfect fit. The workout is intense, but low impact. It seems to be a safe and efficient way to get in a good workout. In boot camp classes, time can be wasted moving stations and setting up new equipment. It is nice to have your own reformer. I have taken a class at Solid Core and these reformers are fancier and have different incline levels. This location is owned by two females who seem committed to giving back to the community. They also like house music, circuit music, etc. which motivates me to get through the workout. I decided after one class to sign up for the founding members monthly special. Finally open! I've been a Lagree addict for over 5 years now and waiting for the ramps to hit Austin and wow, they couldn't have come to a better place. The studio is bright, beautifully decorated and I was welcomed with 2 beautiful warm smiles. Some boutique fitness studios can seem intimidating to me but I felt at home the second I walked in the door. I took Abbie's class, she was very knowledgeable on the Lagree method and gave a great overview of the machine for newbies to the method. Her instruction was very thorough and she gave modifications for each move. We worked each muscle group, fatiguing each part of the body, slowly and painfully. (In the best way possible). I felt like a million bucks leaving feeling like I had accomplished so much! I arrived early because I wasn't sure about parking, to my surprise more than enough street parking right in front of the studio. Hands down the best low impact workout in Austin! read more
