By the way, the actual store is located in Indiana, however shipping is offered. The website setup is very user friendly and what I really appreciate is the fact that all products are described thoroughly, which in my case, made me want to buy more than intended. Lol! But seriously, the descriptions are very helpful for those new to gardening. I ordered seeds for Brussels sprouts, kale, morning glory, and marigolds, as well as fertilizer and Neem oil. I placed an order on 4/4/20. The lead time from COVID was 5-10 days. I contacted the company on 4/11/20 asking them to apply a coupon code to my order, since it still had not shipped. A week goes by with no response. On 4/18/20, I check the website and see that the lead time is now 15-25 days. Nobody from the company has contacted me to tell me there is an increased delay in ordering. At this point, I asked to cancel my order and issued a charge back on PayPal. I told the company I cancelled because the seeds won't come in time for this season, but I would be willing to try ordering from them again next season. The same day, I received a nasty response from a rep, saying: "I receive hundreds of emails a day and simply cannot reply to ones that are pertaining to adding a coupon code to an order made a while prior." (Meanwhile, the company has no problem sending me automated marketing e-Mails I didn't sign up for?) Save yourself the trouble and buy your seeds locally. A company that can't be bothered to reply to its customers is not worth your financial support. Urban Farmer management team, here's a novel idea. If your reps are complaining that they don't have time to answer e-Mails, how about increasing your staff? Another idea - Use your automated marketing tool for something useful. Make a COVID-19 list that updates customers when their orders are delayed. Capture all e-mail addresses from April onward. Send out an e-Mail twice a week saying "orders up to X day have been shipped". It would take you all of 10 minutes to set this up, and your customers wouldn't be left in the dark. You'd also cut down on all of those "where's my order?" e-Mails that your reps are complaining about, because you would be being PROACTIVE about communicating. (Source: My 6 years of e-mail marketing experience with Salesforce Pardot, Mailchimp, and Constant Contact). I said I would be willing to try this company again, but after the way I was treated by the rep, I've changed my mind. Edit to add: I should have read other Yelp reviews before I ordered. Wanting to support local businesses rather than the big-box stores, I ordered seeds from this operation in Westfield. Note that these are very common seeds, essentially the same varieties grown by my family for 40 years or more. Order was placed 4/1/20; order - less a packet of Supersweet 100 tomato seeds and my starting pots - was delivered 4/25/20. Fortunately, a local nursery is legally open and plants can be purchased to make up for lost time starting inside under a grow light. Note: I wish I'd read the other Yelps before I ordered. Horrible! When I received my asparagus crowns, they came in very dry & there was no peat moss in the bag or anything. Very dry & small & nearly dead looking! Then, I noticed some mold, & it got worse as I tried to hydrate them for planting! I specifically made a comment not to send the crowns until the end of May because I live in Michigan and the weather isn't stable for planting anything until the end of May. I'm also sick right now & we've had two frosts. Obviously, they don't follow directions & don't care what kind of product they send. Never again will I order from here! Waste of good money!!! The dates you are posting tells me you purchased during the worst time possible in our time on earth. Cut them some slack!
