Absolutely my happy place. Every time I go in here, I'm instantly calmed. The atmosphere is just so wonderful with the mid-century vibe, and the music choices is always spot on. They have a wide selection of plants, crystals, trinkets and plant accessories. Most of the plants in my home come from here. Everyone who works there is so kind and knowledgeable. I am a Plant Person (with two capital p's). I love plants, I love to buy them for myself and I love to buy them as gifts for others. I needed an end-of-the-school-year gift for one of my kids' teachers, and the easy answer was "plant" because I happen to know that this teacher likes cactuses and succulents. Root 31 is a plant oasis, and I had to keep repeating "cactus or succulent" to myself in order to not get distracted by all of the other beautiful, healthy, happy plants that wanted me to take them home. There was so much variety, and I saw several plants that I wanted, including a cute little peperomia. But I was there to find a plant for someone else, and I did find the perfect desk-size succulent and a really cool and modern terrazzo-style pot to put it in. And (don't tell my kid's teacher) but everything came out to around $12, which was a super deal. The owner of the shop is so friendly and funny, and very knowledgeable about plants. I freaking love this place! The plants are not extremely overpriced like some plant shops, they are fairly reasonable. They also sell crystals, incense and various other things similar in nature. The staff is super friendly and the owner who I met was so sooo sweet. I'm grateful she bought this spot bc apparently Westfield was about to put low income apartments here which would have sucked living right across the street and traffic is already nuts on the small road and the home they made the shop in is beautiful! They also have things to help your plants grow and even a spot if you bring a propagation you can take a propagation home. So cool! I come here as frequently as I can that won't annoy my husband lol. I asked about having a boutique wrapped to travel (2 hour plane ride) and overheard them discussing it to where a worker said "yeah, no I'm not doing that." "They have florist in Vegas" (Vegas is where we're traveling to) Obviously Las Vegas has florist however, I love Root31 and wanted to have their flowers...and felt like that should've been viewed as a compliment not a burden. I discovered Root 31 when a friend shared a Facebook post by the owner--she was offering free bouquets for people just because she wanted to spread a little cheer during a rough time. I thought "wow, who does that?? I need to keep this business in mind for the future!" I contacted Angela on Facebook and asked if she might be able to order a couple of specific plants/flowers that were meaningful to my family and use them to make arrangements for my father's funeral service. She replied back quickly, said she would be able to order what I asked for, and she was able make them for the day I needed despite me not giving her weeks of notice. I went to pick up the flowers and immediately fell in love with the shop--there are so many gorgeous and unique plants and pots, including a unicorn planter that is totally whimsical and adorable! She also had a variety of tiny succulents, air plants, and mossy rock "pets" - so cute! ;) I was also struck by how reasonably priced everything is. I was able to get two *very* nice custom arrangements, one to leave at the gravesite, one to give to my mother to take home, and a plant for her to put in the pot once the flowers die, for under $200! Westfield is about a 30-minute drive for me from Fishers, but this is my go-to floral shop from now on. Go check them out! read more

Please support a local business... like this one!!! The plants are consistently in such good shape, which is not common for a lot of nurseries. Root 31 is a go to destination for houseplants. Succulents, Pothos, monsteras, and other cool plants can be found here and the stock rotates and is fresh. There is also a cute selection of pots and propagation stations inside as well as some local goodies and soaps, etc. Staff are very friendly and everything is grown with love. You genuinely feel cared about there and I really enjoy this establishment. Prices are fair and it's so cozy and happy inside. The only reason I give four stars is because I wish there was more room for more stock, but that's not their fault. Definitely recommend read more

I love the variety that Root 31 Carrie's! Lately I have felt a lot of the local plant stores were only carrying plants I was uninterested in and then also they seemed to have not very healthy plants. Not sow this Root 31! They have so much variety and their plants all looked so full and healthy! They told me they grow their own plants, not have them shipped in, and I am sure that is why! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and I also felt that their prices were very reasonable. They are a plant boutique but don't charge the high boutique prices that others do! There is a great selection of plants--they keep up with the trends and know what plants people are looking for. In addition to plants, they have some crystals, stationery, a lot of really cute pots, and a flower station where you can make your own bouquet. I was not a plant person until I went to Root 31. We were recommended to check it out from a bartender at The Rail restaurant. We stopped by just to look and was immediately impressed with all the exotic plants and unique pots available to purchase. I ended up getting a succulent and pot and then I was hooked. I follow them on Instagram and the owner is very responsive to what you are looking for and tells you what is available or what they will soon have. She posts videos of what is available and lists the price which I like. During quarantine they were available for porch pick up service and opened an online shop. They made it convenient to add joy in homes even during a lock down. I ended up getting two unique hanging baskets called goldfish plants. They are so unique and I don't believe I could find them anywhere else. I like showing them to people and the unique blooms. I was also able to get a small lemon cypress topiary to add some color to our table and also show off another unique plant. The pot I purchased too fit perfectly with the tree and I'm excited to have it as a centerpiece. I will be back to get more house plants from them and tell all of my friends about it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE ROOT 31! If you enjoy plants, you HAVE to find this sweet little gem. Angela, the owner, is friendly, of course, but even more importantly that that? She is incredibly knowledgeable. And she breaks down sometimes intimidating information in terms that a layperson can understand. Plants are hard, LOL! Even if you "think" you have a green thumb because your pothos is thriving, it doesn't mean you can apply that same formula to a Monstera or a Bird's Nest Fern and reap the same rewards. I love plants, and I have failed almost as many times as I have been successful in keeping them alive. Angela is great. If you have difficult low-light situations- she can hook you up. If you are nervous about watering scenarios, she'll walk you thru it. If you are looking for a specific plant, she can point you in the right direction- OR, if you leave your name and number, she can let you know when they come in. Root 31 is a prime example of someone joyfully doing what they love- growing, propagating, selling and introducing others to plants- and KILLING it! As someone who has rescued quite a few overwatered botany dying on big box hardware store shelves, riddled with gnats...I value and appreciate someone with Angela's kindness and expertise to guide me towards purchases. She's even adjusted to hours to accommodate all the foot traffic at the trendy restaurants up and down the street! So grab your guy or gal, stroll up and down Park street soaking up the weekend live music, get a nice dinner...farmhouse to table, sushi, pizza, maybe Italian...get some ice cream at Cone + Crumb...and then stop by, say Hi to Angela, and create your own bouquet to celebrate your night out. I'm so glad I discovered this store via Yelp! My husband and I have really gotten into house plants over the last 2 years, and have been interested in getting a couple new ones. We've visited our "go-to" spot (a different, but lovely plant store) a few times recently and left empty handed. But not today and not here! First of all, the store is super cute! The plants and pots selection was great. And most importantly the owner was amazing. She was so helpful in answering our plant questions, not just about the ones we purchased, but about some of our plants at home that have been struggling. I'm a true plant mom and this place is my jam! I came in to get a couple new pots since my plants have outgrown their current ones. Upon walking in I was in heaven. They have such a large variety of pots and plants! They have pots is every size and color you could want. The employee working was super helpful as well! He wanted to know what our style was and showed us a couple pots that would fit our style. Overall the pots are priced very reasonable. I got two medium sized pots; each were $20. Cute shop with unique and interesting plants. I brought my son who was interested in getting some plants for new apartment. My parents had recommended after stopping by and having a great experience with the owner being friendly and giving them info about shop and what all they offered. We didn't get this same treatment . There were 2-3 people working in a back room and no one came out or even said hello. Went back for second time just because they had a gift perfect for my son's girlfriend but not sure why no one speaks to us when we walk in a small store. I am not familiar with florists in the Carmel/Westfield area and took a chance based upon the look and feel of both Facebook and their website. Called and needed an arrangement last minute. The woman I spoke with - the owner, maybe - was pleasant and helpful. They were able to provide me with both a beautiful arrangement and quick delivery within hours of my request. The recipient of the flowers commented on a number of occasions just how beautiful the arrangement was. It truly was stunning and unique. And lasted forever.
