A few days before Christmas, I checked Yelp for a great florist and encountered the Rusted Window. I loved that I could see their beautiful holiday bouquets, gifts and decor on their website before ordering. I was able to order everything online and it was super easy and quick. The owner called me the next day with drop-off info and she was so sweet and friendly on the phone. The flowers were delivered on time and my grandma said that they smelled amazing. Rusted Window is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall a half block east of the roundabout of Rangeline Rd and Carmel Drive. I had a bit of trouble finding it, but was glad I did. The shop has a little bit of everything. Home Decor? Candles? Just Pop in! popcorn? Women's Clothing? Floral arrangements? Yes to all! I will say I was surprised that there wasn't more floor space since it looks rather roomy from the parking lot. But once inside, there are basically two rooms for shopping while the rest of the space is storage area behind the counter. The staff was friendly and offered to assist in finding something. I am writing this in hopes that other brides do not have the same experience that I have received with Rusted Window. My husband and I originally had our wedding in June 2020, but due to COVID we went ahead with our wedding as planned with immediate family only and postponed our reception to June 2021. We hired Rusted Window to provide flowers for both of these events. If you asked me after our wedding in June 2020 I would be recommending them. However this past wedding reception led to great disappointment and frustration with my experience with Rusted Window. I had requested to have a similar bouquet to my original. I understand that you can't make two bouquets identical, but these two bouquets looked nothing alike. We also got two "large" planters to place on top of barrels from them. These also looked nothing like the inspirational photos and what I discussed with them. After the wedding when I tried to voice my concerns with the products we received I had the worst customer service experience. After sending pictures of my bouquet and asking about the difference in size, fullness, and style of the pieces I learned that in the 'contract' it allows them to do whatever they would like if they don't have what you agreed upon. We paid a lot of money and my bouquet this year was half the size of last year. The owner responded that the bouquets are much smaller and that there are several weddings this year so they don't have the same amount of flowers like they did during COVID. After the wedding was the first time I was told about this. We did not get the products that we talked with them about. They took no ownership in their mistake and referred every comment back to the contract that we signed. It seemed like there is no point in sending inspirational photos or discussing what you would like, because it did not turn out how we envisioned it. I don't feel like we have been heard and since they already had our money they showed no empathy or compassion. Don't waste your time with Rusted Window discussing with them what you want because contractually they can deliver whatever they want. Trust me they delivered what I didn't want. The owner did share to me she normally doesn't have to please a bride twice. read more

Stacy was awful. When the product did not match what we agreed upon AND WHAT I PAID FOR, she referred me back to the contract, which essentially says she does not have to give me what I paid for. Furthermore, she insulted my wife's mother, stating that it was her fault for not expressing concerns when she picked it up. I would not work with her again if she owned the only flower shop in the world and they were the key to sustaining my life. RESPONSE: I was logged into a friend's account. Whoops. I've never left a negative review for anything in my life, but feel I need to share my experience with this vendor. Prior to Covid, we arranged for them to do our daughter's wedding flowers for a May of 2020 wedding. We all know what happened...wedding had to be cancelled due to the shutdown. We attempted to reschedule for the following October, but sadly, we had to cancel again due to the pandemic. This time, though, Stacy refused to allow us to attempt a reschedule, and KEPT OUR $2500+ deposit! You also must know, our daughter is an active duty Army nurse and her fiancé is an active duty Army physician...both working the frontlines of Covid at their Army base in Georgia. They were forbidden by the US Military to travel anywhere away from their base due to their jobs. They even obtained a letter from the Army General who was the commander of their Army base explaining that they were restricted due to the US Military travel ban due to the pandemic. In spite of all of these reasons, Stacy still refused to either refund our deposit, or keep it for when the military would finally allow us to reschedule!! Fast forward 2 1/2 years, and we NOW are planning their third-time rescheduled wedding reception with family and friends (they did have their private beautiful intimate nuclear family-only wedding in their local travel radius back in 2020!) Every single vendor from our original wedding planning has honored our deposits and are happily working with us on our rescheduled date for this coming June....EXCEPT Stacy and her shop. At the time we were originally planning, Stacy even had a son-in-law in the Navy so I never expected this from her. We understood that a smaller business might need the cash flow to survive the shutdown, and would have been fine with her keeping our deposit then, if she would have worked with us now and allowed it to be applied to our upcoming celebration. We emailed her and the shop on our same email stream 3 times since we booked the venue back in Nov 2021 for our upcoming reception in June of 2023. We have never received a response, since Stacy's email dated 9/8/2020 saying she spoke to her attorneys and would not be refunding our deposit due to lost revenues on our cancellation date! It seems a worldwide pandemic and a military travel ban for the bride and groom would warrant an exception to this rule.... Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on our experience. I ordered a floral arrangement and vase for my wife for Valentine's Day and my wife still can't get over how absolutely beautiful it all is. She spent the whole weekend just gazing at the flowers and beaming about them. She said it was by far the most beautiful flowers she'd ever received and that the vase will be her first choice going forward for putting new flowers in. Do not ever use this vendor for a flower order! I ordered a flower arrangement for a very important birthday for my best friend. I told the person who answered the phone that I was willing to spend up to $250 for a colorful arrangement. I live in the Washington, DC area, so I was not able to go into their "shop" to order in person. The woman answering the phone said that my gift was very "generous" and they could do something really nice. Fortunately my friend sent me a picture of the flowers. It was appalling...a pale, almost gray, not large, arrangement of hydrangeas (I have never seen almost gray hydrangeas) and some pale colorless lilies. I had asked for a colorful arrangement, and they did the opposite. Today I get my credit card bill for $284. This shop and the owner should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of an out of town order. What a scam!!!!! (Yelp requires a star rating. Whenever I'm in Carmel, this place is always on my list of places to stop. My sister and I stopped in today to check out their home decor and furniture pieces and had a chance to talk with the store owner. We were there chatting and laughing for a quite a while talking all things design, home decor and house remodeling. There's no doubt the girls at Rusted Window have an eye for design and are always getting new and exciting things in the store. Received a gorgeous arrangement for my birthday! I was out of town during the day and the shop notified me of delivery time early in the day. I gave a great review until I realized we had been fooled. We paid 45$ for a flower class. The instruction was 15 minutes. They freely told us new flowers are delivered Monday's; Friday is 50% off day to get rid of stems. Our florals were beautiful but some were weathered. Well guess what not even a week and flowers are dead. Sooo guess what flowers we "paid" for. The end of the barrel. Not cool. These should have been fresh. I came here looking for some unique Christmas gifts for my sisters, and was not disappointed. Carrying an array of home goods, jewelry, and clothing, I was able to find a little something for each of my sisters. From funny coffee mugs, fun wine and beer glasses with gilded sayings, snarky kitchen towels, kitschy engagement/wedding items, there is a lot to choose from. All the items I perused were at a reasonable price point as well.
