They apparently have a small sign…read moreby the cash register that is not clearly visible with all the clutter on the counter and the employees dont tell you no returns either as they are more concerned with being on the phone then give you customer service. Sad when you have to ask for a bag and your items just get shoved into a cheap plastic bag. Typically around the holidays, most stores make exceptions to their return policies but not greedy sisters.... I like to shop small business but next time I'll stick with pottery barn and save my money and receive better customer service

The clerk was welcoming and friendly. She told me that the fabric squares that they sell are special and used to make pillows and other handmade crafts. The shop is opened Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. There is free street parking. Their sidewalks were dangerously icy during my January visit, so I had to walk carefully.

For example, primitive style will feature early colors that are dark, muted, warm, and earthy colors that highlight familiarity and weathered beauty. Popular shades on the primitive spectrum are: black, barn red, navy blue, cream, putty, tan, umber, walnut, mustard, sage, and burgundy. Colors are easy to use in a home that loves antiques, Americana, distressed woods, providing a calming, cohesive environment. My dear friend has a primitive home that is stunning and so warm and comforting that it defines primitive. Fireside Primitives isn't a huge shop but has so many of the basic accent pieces and accents to help you either add greenery, candles, candle boxes, lights, bowls and table runners to name just a few of the many items they offer. I fell in love with the covered bridge with lights inside and trimmed out along the edges of the bridge. I'm still trying to find a place for this adorable piece. The two ladies running the shop were super friendly, proud of their shop, and the appreciation I personally had for their decor. The shop reflected all the primitive colors, and you have to stand back when you walk into the shop to take in all the colors, textures, and design. Horton's is popular in the town of Tipton, having served the community since 1976 and makes a great girl's weekend shopping visit. The store is large, separated by vignettes of various themes. There is a small area of children's books and gifts, a larger area of women's clothing, a candy counter with an amazing selection of fudge and chocolates, house plant supplies and seasonal home decor. I was fascinated by the Victorian-era antiques, but most are not for sale, just display. Prices are on the high side, but inline with an upscale boutique. The staff is helpful, but not intrusive letting customers wander. There is parking in front and behind the store.

They come from excellent greenhouses so they get a great start and look fresh when you get them! The ferns and flowers to choose from are a plenty! Just come and see for yourself! You pay just a little more for these plants but they will not be found wilted. These plants are well cared for and will last all summer long if you continue with the care they were given! It's a great time of year at Horton's!
