If your looking to be on Top Chef without the competition, this is the place for you. urbanCHEF provides a beautiful professional cooking atmosphere fully equipped for all of your cooking desires. They also have a spacious dining area (can accommodate a large party) with beautiful paintings on the wall and allow you to decorate as you desire for an upscale romantic dinner, girl's night out or birthday party. Chara (the go to for all of your booking needs) is so professional, friendly and flexible to cater your visit to your liking, if you are booking a private event. I booked a cake baking/decorating party and the creativity they allow you is vast with all of the toppings and baking supplies. I am excited to try out a dinner cooking party or class with urbanCHEF as they definitely provide all you need for a successful plate to excite your pallet. Hat's off to urbanCHEF for this creative and fun business in the Houston area.

I cannot recommend this place enough! Tell your family, tell your friends- I know I have! Chara helped me schedule (and reschedule) the class about 6 times- sorry Chara! But she was so understanding and sweet. My hubby and I did vegetarians paradise and they made vegan accommodations for me and honestly you wouldn't have known it was vegan! The class was so fun and we learned a lot of cooking techniques. Chef Jada was a blast, she was so friendly and fun and I love that she encouraged you to put your own taste on the food. She also even snuck in a bonus for cooking session for us- I was asking if she had candied pecans for the salad (they didn't) but she was like no problem, let's make them in 5 minutes! I even took my leftovers home and added them to my oatmeal, delicious! I had such a fun time at urban chef and will be recommending it to everyone I know. The only regret you'll have is that you didn't try urban chef sooner!

Chose the 3-hour lobster ravioli class and turned out to be a great choice. Overall, it was a nice experience. We arrived early and didn't get started till maybe 10 minutes past the start time. You can purchase alcoholic beverages and eat cheese and crackers (free) while you wait. The goat cheese was really good. We got to make a 3 course meal from scratch: salad with a homemade vinagriette, gougeres, creme brulee, and lobster ravioli with a saffron cream sauce. I expected to be given a recipe to follow but instead, you'll be given instructions including measurements by the chef instructor. What tasted the best was the creme brulee. The lobster ravioli with the creamy sauce was the next best thing and tasted very good but I think we overcooked the pasta. The pasta seemed harder than it should be. The salad with the vinagriette was tasty. I did not enjoy the gougeres at all. The ravioli was the hardest to make. Not sure I would want to make it from scratch myself after our experience. The key is to stretch out the dough as thin as you can and don't overfill it. Pros: - They offer free coffee (regular & decaf) for you when it's time to eat - Clean kitchen - The chef instructor was helpful, easygoing, and checked on everyone's progress - Love the fragrance of the hand soap they provide Drawbacks: - No BYOB - Because it was a full class, you had to share the stovetops, 1 sink for dishes, boiling the ravioli, and some cooking utensils. This definitely could slow you down by a few minutes. - The kitchen isn't as spacious. Only matters if you have a full class. - We didn't get to finish off the creme brulee. Aka flame torch the sugar on top. The chefs do that for you. If we got to do this, I think the class might need to be 3.5 hours. I would definitely sign up for another cooking class with them again.

Cooking class was EXCELLENT!! In the kitchen with 5 other couples for the Surf & Turf (scallops & angus beef) with roasted broccoli, and hand-made tortellini. Chef Jada did an excellent job of walking us through the steps and at the end of the night, I was actually enjoying a delicious meal. Several other classes up on their website that look interesting and attractive. The staff was great and the food was superb... definitely recommend UrbanCHEF !!!

This place is amazing!! I seriously can't rave about it enough. We went for a friend's bday and had a private class. The instructor was very knowledgeable and extremely patient with my distractive self lol. We made pasta, alfredo sauce, caesar salad, cornish hen and a chocolate soufflé! All which was so delicious. The class was two hours long and then we get to eat our dinner in a private room. I absolutely recommend it for a special celebration!

Everyone had a full plate and there was still a bunch leftover!

Disclaimer: I came here for a team building event for work, so I didn't pay for this... You could partially enhance my satisfaction and overall rating but all in all it was a great experience! We did the Surf&Turf and Creme Brule menu and it was just an overwhelming amount of food. We basically made 6 dishes in two hours. Those cooks in iron chef or chopped who have like 30 minutes while using made up ingredients... Seriously crazy. The cooking experience was very fun and interactive. Our host gave us all these tips for preparing and cooking our food that he uses everyday. To reiterate how good this experience was, I'll bought a blowtorch on my way home from the event to make dessert tonight. It's a must try!!!!

I took my wife here for date night and had a blast. We cooked Vietnamese food under the watchful eye of Chef Tran. She kept 12 people in line. Kept us all busy chopping and preparing ingredients like fresh lemon grass and yuca. We all learned a lot of inside secrets of real Vietnamese food of what they do back in the home country and what they don't do here at the restaurants. We came in as a group of couples who didn't know each other but left as friends because after working together in the kitchen, we all sat down and ate together. We cooked and ate egg rolls, spring rolls, vermicelli pork bowl, and this cool Vietnamese dessert made of yuca, lady finger bananas, tapioca pearls, and coconut milk.

    The group!

Went here with two other couples for a total of 6 of us and we had the best time! We did a beef wellington, salad, roasted veggies, potato casserole and chocolate lava cake. We brought our own wine and beer to drink while we cooked and with dinner. I loved the long table seating for all of the "students." The class/instructor allowed us to have enough guidance to not ruin our dished but also allowed us time to have fun with our groups chatting, chopping and all that. The facility and cooking prep spaces were really nice. A first look it a little expensive I think about $140 a couple, but for such a nice dinner and the class itself is really is a good deal and an awesome gift!!

Im sorry honey you cook all week and i take you out to cook again.

So happy to see a virtual cooking class on the Weekly Savor from Central Market. So easy to invite several of my friends who I met cooking virtually at many, many Yelp cooking events. The free live online class and discussion with Chef and Restaurateur Einat Admony, who is known for her fresh, sophisticated Mediterranean palate, was fabulous. So interesting to learn about Chef Admony's journey and challenges as a chef and then cook along with her using chicken, lemons, herbs, onions and olives in Braised Chicken with Olives and Citrus. She also did a bonus Tahdig recipe. The food turned out amazing!! Chef Admony was one of the first chefs to introduce Israeli cuisine to Americans. I would love to eat at her flagship New York eatery, Balaboosta. She sold her Taim franchise to Chipotle, the Mexican fast-food chain. She has competed on the Food Network's reality television show Chopped and won twice. She is also a comedian and is a great teacher. Her passion really shined during this virtual class. Thanks to Chef and Restaurateur Einat Admony for sharing your wonderful story as a chef and your cooking tips. You are an inspiration. Thanks also Central Market Cooking School for offering this great class virtually. Thanks for the recipe and the recording. Braised Chicken with Olives and Citrus. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Put the chicken, olives, onion, preserved lemon, dried limes, lemon slices, oil, honey, salt, cilantro, garlic, turmeric, cumin, paprika, and red pepper flakes in a large bowl. Using your hands, mix everything thoroughly, making sure the chicken pieces are well coated with the spices and herbs. Arrange the chicken pieces skin-side down in a deep baking dish in a single snug layer. Arrange the rest of the mixture over the chicken. Whisk the stock with the orange juice in a measuring cup and pour over the chicken.

In this busy world we live in, I love the simplicity of a one pot dish. I feel like I have made every chicken dish imaginable, until I learned Chef Admony's recipe. The chicken, onion, olives, lemon, limes, and spices all go into one dish. You bake it on 400 degrees for 40 minutes and take it out, flip the chicken skin side up and put it back in for 20 more minutes. Voila! Your dish is done. It is delicious and aromatic! My kitchen smells so good. I also really liked Chef Admony's recipe for a Jasmine rice cake with saffron butter and toppings. A perfectly balanced and tasty meal, that I can make in my kitchen. I really enjoyed listening to Chef Admony talk about the balance between work and kids, that is a real struggle for women everywhere. I have seen Chef Admony on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay. She is a fierce competitor and knows her flavor profiles. I am kicking myself for not taking pictures, but I was taking careful notes on the cooking procedures and tips to making these dishes successful. I really do miss Yelp's virtual events, but Central Market Cooking Classes really helped fill that niche. Thank you Chef Admony and Central Market Cooking Classes.
