After the payment was made, a zoom link was shared by the studio owner. There was no limit on the minimum number of guests required. The session was divided into two parts. In the introductory round Sarah introduced colors and various medium. After 45 minutes the participants were given a timed break. She used this break towards virtual cake cutting and other fun stuff. Though it is not easy to teach kids virtually. Sarah was able to engage them for two hours. She is a great instructor and very knowledgeable. As far as the pricing is concerned, I would say it is towards a higher end. She charges $50 / participant for the virtual session. This includes the material cost. The materials can be collected from her studio, or can be delivered at minimal price. In my opinion $50 / participant is total value for money. This session is not comparable to the regular art & craft theme birthday party. Sarah helped the kids in learning a new skill. She gave mini breaks when the kids were getting confused. She ensured that so no one gets behind and patiently answered all their questions. Each child was able to create something unique at the end of the session. I loved this experience. I am looking forward to host in person private event at her studio.

The staff was so helpful with the process as we didn't know what we were doing. They walked us through each step and gave us a lot of choices for colors and also images for inspiration. We took over 3 hours to create our boards and we were all super happy with the final product. They close at 5pm on Sundays but we ended up there much later completing our projects and we never felt rushed. Thank you, Craftworx! The studio is bright and clean and welcoming. They service wine and drinks and snacks! There are so many different projects to choose from! We can't wait to pick up our dry resin boards (they have to sit and dry for a few days) and we are already planning our next projects!

I wanted to love this place but the sugar land location is so poorly run, I just can't. It's a…read moregreat concept but the horrible customer service makes it not worth it, and in the end they lost our pieces and didn't care. 1. From the beginning, I had a subpar experience because the employee helping us make our pieces was new (which is fine, nobody can help that) but instead of explaining how to create the work or having a more experienced employee shadow her training, she kept getting frustrated and would say "here, I'll just show you" and ended up basically making the pottery for us. She was sweet but lacked training and patience, so she didn't let us make our own pottery. She also kept bantering with her colleague while we sat there waiting to hear what to do next. 2. Then 6 weeks goes by and we didn't hear back about our piece, my husband and I kept calling and finally after a week, someone answered and said yes it's ready. 3. Now we have painted and sent them to the fire and we went to pick it up this evening. They are moving locations and everything was packed up. The employee said he can't find it and it was probably recycled. The most they can offer is 50% off a new pottery experience. Taken aback, I said hey that's really uncool, and kind of messed up. He said we should have picked it up within 2 weeks and it's been almost 60 days. It's been exactly 40 days, and we just had Xmas and New Years, AND they're only open Thursday through Sunday. Nonetheless that is my blunder, I recognize that. Still, they can call someone before throwing away their pieces. The employee said, "We used to do that, but it was bad for business." 4. The final straw was when the employee said, "I'll look through on Monday at the warehouse to see if it's there," and my husband asked, "and you'll call us?" The employee said Yeah. My husband said, "and you have our number on file?" which prompted him to check in front of us. HE DIDNT EVEN HAVE OUR NUMBER! The guy was never planning on calling us because I was upset about our pieces possibly being thrown away. So they can take six weeks to notify us our pieces are ready, but we can't take 4 weeks to pick it up? They should admit our stuff was thrown away or lost because they're moving locations, not because we took an extra 2 weeks to pick it up. Neither the email that said it was ready nor the employees at time of painting indicated that we HAD to pick it up in two weeks or else they'll recycle our pieces. Almost every employee at this location has zero customer service training (except one lady who helped us paint our pieces). I have never felt so strongly about an establishment that I wrote an extensive review. My advise is to take your $ elsewhere. Makes sense why this location isn't even on Google maps, only Apple Maps. They probably had awful reviews. I'm so disappointed in Smashed & genuinely sad at how I've been treated.

Michelle our instructor was understanding in these matters and she jugged both the students who were their on time, who were 15 mins into their paintings and my family who were settling in. Michelle got us up to speed within 10 mins of our arrival. The example painting was very intimidating for first timers, but Michelle dissected each section of the example painting with efficiency but realistic tips and tricks. She was super helpful in aiding us with aspects that were to scary to attempt on our own. Their was a 5 minute break were you could sip and snack, but we mostly kept painting because it fun and relaxing. Top 40 hits was playing in the background which allow me to relax even more, and sing lowly the lyrics. Overall we had a blast. Recommendations: wear clothes you can get paint on, you have an apron, but things happen. Have a small bag with you, big hand bags take up space under the table. If you have a Groupon deal, print it before you come. Bring a small sitting pillow, the old backside gets numb when you sit for 2 hours on small plastic stool. Its a unisex restroom, go easy on the liquids. Have a protective cloth and space in your car for transport of your masterpiece after. All in all we had a grand time.

I started out in the beginner class with no previous experience and quickly learned the basics. The beginner class is a reasonable $170 for a 5 week session and you can count on coming home with 6+ pieces. Your final class will be a potluck, work reveal and Raku firing. John and Judy allowed me to take the beginner class for a few sessions until I was confident enough to move forward to the intermediate. I'm currently taking 3 month intermediate sessions with the option of extra studio time on Saturdays for $5. I love to come to class and unwind on Monday nights after a long day; playing with clay is really a form of therapy. The owners are there to assist you hands-on and help you achieve the best result (as are some of your classmates that have been students here for many years). John and Judy often have a different approach to their craft, which is beneficial in that you're exposed to more than one perspective and technique. The best advice that I can give is to eliminate your expectations. Almost every piece you make will look different than you envisioned, but you'll learn to love the unpredictability.
